on july 13th i sent 2 money orders to Carrie Jones, one for $100 and one for $500, totaling $600 (i had to send them in 2 different money orders because $500 is the max that one can be made out for here in alabama and i owed her $600 for the beanies i was purchasing)
she received it and supposedly sent my beanies on july 19th. but i know that is wrong because it took my money order almost 2 weeks to get to her. she was constantly emailing saying it hadnt arrived yet. i dont have any of our old emails. i have everything from the past 2 weeks though. my husband went through my mailbox and deleted all my old emails because i had over 6 thousand.
anywayz, today is august 29th and still no beanies. she is still replying to my emails but she is offering no solution to this problem. i have repeatedly asked her to just send my money back and she never answers me. she has always said that she insured the package but when i asked for the money back the first time she said she would have to check and see if she insured the package. i pointed this out to her. she claims to be filling out an insurance claim form to get the money back. she said that the refund would have to go to me though, not her because i was the buyer and that it could take up to 4 months. i am NOT waiting another 4 months. its been over 1 1/2 months already! in the last email i sent her i told her that i wanted her to send my refund TODAY and if the insurance claim had to come to me so be it. i would just forward it to her once it arrived but i am not waiting on it. she can. she hasnt replied yet.
i am seeing lots of people posting bad trader alerts on her now. a few emails ago she stated that she was in the process of moving. i dont think she meant to tell me that. i think it slipped and she didnt realize it. i keep asking her for her new physical address and phone number but she hasnt given it to me yet. the phone number i have for her is 604-465-0338 i have her mailing and physical address (i insisted on her giving me her physical address as she only wanted to give me her mailing address...a PO box) i fear that NOONE will get their beanies or refund from her if she moves and we dont get her new address. any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. she says that she is willing to "work things out" but i think she is just lying up one side and down the other. i think she is just buying time (telling us all that she is sending refunds or making insurance claims u) until she moves and then noone can get intouch with her.
there is NO jones listed in the canadian phone directory at her physical address or with her phone #. NOTHING is coming up under her name. i have checked and its like she doesnt even exist. i am going to file a police report. im being very patient with her and emailing back and forth and stuff without threatening her with the police, hoping she will have a heart and send my money back. i dont want to piss her off.
i was buying:
mwmt web, mwmt chilly, mwmt trap, mwmt bumble, mwmt caw
her phone number is 604-465-0338. every time i call the # it sounds as if
its a fax machine number. i asked her about this and she said she does have
her personal fax machine hooked up to her home phone. the deal was done from
bbot. i saw her ad on bbot regarding all the beanies she had for sell. she
said she wanted to go back to school and she wasnt collecting anymore so
she decided to just sell them and use the money for that. she also stated
she wanted to have a baby and blah blah blah. she has NO feedback and im
kicking myself as we speak for not requiring an escrow service. there are
about 4 people on bbot that are also posting that they are having the same
problem with her....no beanies and no refund and they sent their money around
the same time i did. her user ID was new on bbot (lol im a regular and pretty
much know the new and old names) i only saw her posting for a couple of weeks
and then that was it. I have contacted the Maple Ridge Police in Canada.
If I have to hire a lawyer I will do so as I am already out $600. in just
a little while im going to my local PD to file a report. her address is:

Carrie Jones in BC,Canada has never sent my beanies, I need help. I sent
Carrie Jones a personal check on 7/8/02 in the amount of $26. The check cleared
the bank on 7/19. She said she mailed my 2 june bears and zodiac dragon on
the 7/31. I emailed her several times to let her know that i hadn't received
my beanies and she told me to be patient they were probably hung up in customs.
She then went on a 2 week vacation so i emailed her back to tell her that
at this point just refund my money. She has not emailed me indicating what

My name is Connie Fredrickson and I am in Tennessee. I have been scammed by a Canadian seller. Melanie Hasan has asked me to e-mail you with my story. The seller's name is supposedly Carrie Jones @ Maple_is_my_favorite@yahoo.ca On July 5th, I mailed her a check for $131 for the purchase of 6 beanies babies (Tusk, Buckingham, Champion Mexico, Chinook, Red digger, & Tabasco). She let me know when the check arrived & said she would send as soon as the check cleared, which I fully understood. The check was mailed to Ridge PO box 21072, Maple Ridge, BC, Canada V2X 1P7
On approx July 20th, I e-mailed her to asked if they had been shipped & she said she felt it had been enough time for the check to clear, so she said she mailed on July 22nd. After about 10 days I contacted her & asked her to verify the date of shipment & was again told July 22nd. I waited & then there was a lot of talk about customs confiscating more then 1 beanie per pkg, so I contacted customs on this end & was told she would have to start the trace, but if customs HAD kept them I would receive a letter saying so.
I then e-mailed her about Aug 15th and received an automatic response that she was on vacation until the 28th. On the 21st of Aug I went on vacation for 2 weeks, but got a chance to check Ty.com at my son's house & saw Melanie's post. Upon e-mailing her I found out she had lost $600 to her. I am now home & have contacted the Canadian police about this, but need to call back Sunday AM to talk to officer Schulls. I have also filed a report with the FBI.
But I thought I would try to e-mail her again & pretend I knew none of this & she responded back saying she had checked on it, but it would take 4-6 weeks to follow through with it.
I have the canceled check, but it is not endorsed. Only the bank cancellation on it. Since my computer deletes e-mails regularly, I only have the last response from her.
If you need any other info, please let me know. I don't know how far
we can go to get our money back, but I want this person stopped from doing
this to anyone else. I have a feeling WE paid for her vacation.

It is unfortunate it has gotten to this point. SUITEBO was refunded her money in FULL she should have it THIS WEEK as it was mailed last week. Mel, all my paperwork has been filed with Canada Post. If need be, I can get a letter from my post office indicating the problems I am experiementing as I am not the only one experiementing this. I am doing everything humanly possible to get this entire thing straightened out. If you need me to fax you any proof refunds for SUITEBO has been sent as well as paperwork for Mel I can do so by you sending me you're fax #! Thanks!
Later: If you can also forward me other complaints
as I am only aware of 1 other person (Jackie..who I have never dealt with
before) I dealt with an Ed Hines who was also sent back a refund last week.

Schulls ran a check in their system for a Carrie Jones, both of legal age
and as a minor and NOTHING came up. he went to the address that i mailed
my payment to and only a guy lives there. the guy was not home at the time
and officer schulls is off until sunday so once he comes back im sure he
will revisit that man and see what he can find out. basically carrie jones
does NOT exist. i will keep you updated on this case if you would like

I got ripped off by Carrie too. I sent Carrie Jones five beanies-PVG,
GVR, 2 Red Americas, Scotland and $200 for New Face Magenta. I have the original
slip that I bought at the Post Office with the number verifying I sent it
registered mail and she received it. Here's the number: rr818300325us.
You can see the history of this on the USPS website. She sent numerous
excuses as to why I hadn't received my half of the trade. I also have a copy
that my bank got from her bank of the bankcheck I sent or the $200 showing
that she cashed the check I sent. Basically that's it in a nutshell. I'd

All I know is the post office told me for out of country insurance it
takes 4 months. All I know is I filled out some paperwork and sent it off.
It did not ask for the other persons signature in this sheet. I am just looking
at this paperwork now and it doesn't ask for one. My post office has told
me I need to fill this out first and then we both get paperwork sent to me.
The # on the form is 1-800-267-1177. I do not know if outside of Canada one
can call this #. I also asked my post office if I get the insurance
money or if they do. They told me I do not get it but the other person does.
That is why I suggested to Mel, that she has to wait for it. As for
8 complaints, I have not got that many personally. So unless I know who they
are I am not sure how I can correct this problem. The police have not
contacted me and I called the non-emergency line to inquire and they are
going to have someone call me back as they are inaware themselves of the
problem. If you can't forward me all the complaints, how can I clear up the
problem? I can certainly fax you reciepts of every person as I DO have valid
reciepts, as well as the refunds I have given already as well as forms filled
out. My post office has also said she will personally write me a letter of
recommendation as she know how much shipping I do. You have not given
me a list of complaints or fax # to send you all the proof I have!!!!

something weird is MOST definitely going on. NOONE has received a refund
as of today, as i have spoken with all 8 of them. i speak with each of them
every day. i filed the police report with my local PD and then called her
local PD and they started a case # for this and i also filed a report with
the ifccfbi.gov website. i have asked carrie for a copy of the insurance
form that she says she has and she beats around the bush and wont give it.
4 of us have notified the Maple Ridge police department that we were ripped
off by her. 4 of us have filed reports with the ifccfbi site. 3 of us have
contacted you. connie, me and jackie. i guess oletta (suitebo) forgot to
tell me that she notified you. this case has just begun. "carrie" does
indeed respond to all emails but i think she does that simply because she
doesnt think she will be caught. she doesnt think she will be forced to return
the money that she herself told me she doesnt have. so she isnt scared. and
the phone number she gave me is DEFINITELY a fake number. i finally got someone
to answer that phone and it is a guy and he says he has never heard of a

I have heard from maple_is_my_favorite, she says the refund check is in
the mail. She also requested that if the beanies do get here, that I return
them - not a problem!! Now we just have to set, wait to see if I receive

I was supposed to receive a Buckingham beanie. She cashed my check around
July 23rd. I have never received my beanie, and she says that she has a receipt
stating she mailed him. She continues to answer the emails, but will never
answer my question "when did you mail him?" I contacted the Maple Ridge PD
after Melissa emailed me telling me her story. She is very good at making
you believe her. The PD says that there really isn't anything they can do.
They said that a Carrie Jones does not exist in Maple Ridge. She gave me
a phone number, but of course I never get an answer. Well, that is the story.
I went and got a copy of my check, but there is no name signed on the back.
This person knows what they are doing. This persons name has to be Carrie
Jones, because she didn't sign the check, and the bank stamped it. Anyway,
there is your story.

today is saturday . I have received in the mail a money order from Carrie
Jones. The amount is for more than i sent her with a note explaining that
she hopes this proves she wasn't trying to defraud me. It does say it is
a canada money order but in US funds and i haven't tried to cash it. What

I sent Carrie a money order for $51.50. The address she gave me was a P.O. Box. I tried contacting the Canadian P.O. to see if I could get a regular mailing address but they would not give me any info. I have also contacted traderlist and was waiting to see what they found out before I went any further. I even waited to leave the negative feedback until I was really sure that she wasn't going to follow through. Yesterday was the first time I saw any feedback other than the positive one from Becky, whom like I said I emailed twice, since she sid it was a problem with customs I thought that maybe she could tell me what had happened and that would explain why my pckage didn't arrive. I emailed her twice and asked her please to respond but she ignored me. Have you contacted her as well ans the other negative feedbacks?
I also tried looking for her on ebay and meta exchange y I didn't find
anything unldes she is using a different name. When I first became involved
with her she said she had a list of beanies for sale so I emailed her and
asked for the list. She sent it to me and then I negotiated with her about
the Buckingham beanie that I wanted. She was so nice and answered all my
questions until we finally made a deal. After 2 weeks when I didn't re4ceive
anything I emailed her and she told me not to worry since customs was holding
things up. She suggested that I wait until the end of the week and email
her again if I didn't receive anything. I waited 2 more weeks and then I
emailed again, thats when she stopped answering me. Well thats my story.

ago, she said they were mailed to wrong addess,the first time. i told them
,that we were comeing on fish trip,it happen to be 3 miles from her town,
about 4 hours later,email said they would send money w,u,. about 2 hours
went by and it was there. i dont even fish. .i think theres to of them,iam
not sure but i think the other one is battey and they work to gether.but

ship out Monday. I have saved numerous e-mail from me to her inquiring as
to where are my Beanies. She finally said that she was checking with the
post office to see what the problem was because there were others that had
not received items. That was back on 8/30/2002 and the last I have heard
from her. Please let me know if this is enough information. I can send all
of the e-mails that I have saved if that would help. I really want to help
in any way I can in resolving this issue. I want to see Carrie get what she
deserves and has coming to her. I am going to check into out filing a report
with the FBI and also contacting Officer Shulls in Canada that you spoke

Hi, my name is Brenda Brady and I would like to add my name to the long
list of people "taken" by one Carrie Jones aka maple_is_my_favorite.ca. I
originally communicated with Carrie on July 4th 2002 when she sent me a requested
list of "old" beanies she had for sale. She refused to use a mediator/escrow
co (ie Peggy Gallagher) as I requested, but we eventually arrived at a price
on 4 beanies: Caw, Bumble, Tusk, and Tradee for a total of $300. She said
she would take care of the shipping since my order was so large. On July
8th, I mailed Carrie Jones, 11039 238th st, Maple Ridge, BC, V2W-1E7, phone/fax
# 604-465-0338 a personal check for $300. I never received an email saying
she received my check so on 7/21 I sent her an email and she responded that
she did get it and did send me an email...which I never received......and
that it would take a while to clear her bank. I emailed her back and told
her that the check had already cleared my bank and when would she be shipping
my beanies? She said it takes a while (up to a month???????) for a check
from the US to clear her bank. She emailed me on 7/27 stating that she had
mailed my beanies to me on 7/26. I emailed multiple times stating that I
still had no beanies...she says "give it time....Customs" The next thing
I heard from her was that she was going out of town for a couple of weeks
and would be back on the 28th of Aug, but I should have beanies by that time.
Well, it went down hill from there...Multiple emails (most answered) sent
and responses saying something must be wrong with customs....quite a few
of the people haven't gotten beanies. She would check on it...right after
the long weekend(Labor Day in US....does Canada celebrate the US holiday?).
I requested a refund multiple times and she then started asking "did you
request insurance...I will file a report" I told her that she had agreed
to do and pay for the shipping, so did she do insurance? She then told me
that she was sure she prob did, but the receipts were all packed away in
a box awaiting the "MOVE" and when she got settled again she would look.
She didn't give me a new address, but did acknowledge that she was moving.
I really didn't know what to do after this long a period. Then I saw the
post on the BBOT and responded to hasanm@bellsouth.net(Mustafa Hasan)'s post.
I will follow through with whatever needs to be done to stop these people.
Please keep me posted on the progress of this and if there is anything

We ordered beanies from her about 4 weeks maybe five ago and she kept saying she sent it and kept lying. I suggest you put her on traderlist like we did and it many people do it maybe they will get a fraud case against her. If you need anymore information just email thanks jackie

from everyone. and she had the nerve to send a letter along with a refund
to someone and say that they caused her so much trouble and she would never

About one week ago I recived a money order for the amount of $56 US from
her along with piece of typed and unsigned paper, in that she wrote I have
caused her financial hardship due to dishonesty!! and she had written shame
on you!!! She still owes me $150 canadian but she wrote to me that she will
return that to me when she can afford it, which I know she is not, probably
she send me $56 , because I traced my money order and found out which bank
she has deposited my money order and my canadian cheque and I gave the account
# and the address of the bank where she had deposited the money to the Canadian
police, and my guess is that police could trace the accout to whoever she
is, and she only sent $56 to get me off her back. So she still ows me $150

i started dealing with carrie jones back in june/july. we agreed a trade
for her 2 x sakura, 2 x libearty, 2 x buckingham and 2 x garcia beanies.
i was to trade about 20 beanies + in total (if u need the list plmk as i
still have it but its in my room) we agreed to send on the monday, however
i was unable to get to the post office due to a family crisis. in this time
carrie made too many statements which contradicted what she ahd already said,
she had insurance - then wasnt sure if she had. carrie had also mentioned
she was going away to college (change of address)and she had no feedback
and to me alarm bells started ringing so i only part traded. carrie then
started pressurising me to do a second high value deal. originally we said
we would do this deal after the first one was completed. carrie became very
demanding and agressive and my father then banned me from having any further
contact with carrie and he then contacted her to that affect. My dad allowed
time for carries parcel then cancelled the deal with Carrie when her package
did not arrive. to this day i have recieved nothing but abuse and threats
from carrie. to this date my only negative feedback had been from carrie.

For these items and the $420.00 money order I was to have received the following beanies all with minty mint hang tags from Carrie:

(I traded her the no hang tag Jade from my collection for a mint hang tag
Jade plus some bonus beanies)
I sent these out in two separate boxes and 1 envelope for the money order
on July 9th and 10th respectively. To date I have gotten nothing from Carrie
Jones. I have asked for my money back and told her I would submit insurance
claims as she says she never got my packages to see if I could get reimbursed
a little that way but no money or packages have been returned. She denies
getting my packages but she did tell me 3 days after I sent the money order
that she received it. However, when I asked her to return it she does not.
As a matter of fact on up until last week I was emailing back and forth with
Carrie but as soon as I asked her to go ahead and send me back the $420.00
dollars (actually I only asked her for $400.00) she immediately quit
communicating with me. This was the first time I asked her for my money or
any type of resolution as I was trying to be patient with her and the Customs
Service. I feel like over 3 months of waiting is fair and I realize
packages get lost but not 4 packages (my two to her and her two to me). This
is only the second time out of hundreds of trade this has happened and I
do truly feel like both times I was intentionally ripped-off. I know the
other trader that never sent me a package and claimed she never got mine
was suspended from Collecting Nation. So basically I believe Carrie did intend
to rip me off from day one. I was so taken in with her promises and smooth
talk and of course her promises of these very rare and hard to find beanies.
I traded Carrie some of these items when they were at their peek of
value and has since fallen some but my estimate at the time I sent these
beanies to Carrie was a value of $1400.00 plus the $420.00 money order with
a total of $1820.00 in value that she has ripped me off. I feel stupid
as I tried so hard to talk Carrie into doing one trade at a time or at least
no more than 2 items at a time but she insisted that she would go ahead let
someone else have the other beanies as she just could not "hold them" as
her husband would not allow it as the offerings were pouring in. So
I guess greed got the best of me as I wanted to have all of the NF colored
teddies not just a couple if I was going to collect them. I would in
fact really appreciate any help you could give me as Carrie herself has told
me that I was her biggest trade...thus as the case may be...her biggest fool.

Yes I did get my money back. She did put negative feedback on KNK, but
if people will read it carefully, it wasn't negative on my part (only that
I left negative feedback for her) & she can't understand why I would
do that, since she refunded my money. I really feel that we would not have
gotten our money back without your help. Thank you so much.

This is to let you know that I did receive a refund from Carrie Jones
in the amount of $51.50 on 9-20. Carrie claimed that she sent the beanie
and if I received it I should send it back and then I would know that she
was not lying.I find it very interesting that she sold the same beanie to
at least 4 people when she only had one. Donna

My husband and I have been dealing with Carrie since June. We have sent her $2500 in combination cashier's check and money order. We saw she was selling an extensive beanie set on ebay and e-mailed back and forth about it. She decided to cancel her auction and we could pick from her list of beanies what we wanted and she would give us a price. Once we settled on price and sent the first payment by cashier's check, she held up sending the beanies by a month because her bank had to clear such a high amount on the check. That sounded weird to us so after bugging her enough, she said she was using the money to pay on a loan and that was the reason it was being held up. In the meantime our second payment by money order was sent and received by her. That was July. Since then she has kept in contact saying that she was waiting on claim forms from Canada Post in order to submit the claim for us not receiving our beanies. She also told us that the box was probably held up in customs. Several e-mails have come saying Canada Post hadn't processed the paperwork yet. I think that is a little too long, even our post office doesn't take that long to process a claim. The most recent e-mail was about two weeks ago saying she is contacting Canada Post twice a week to get a file number. She hasn't responded to us in a week. I noticed there is a case number now with Canada police. I am going to add our name to that case as well as file a report with the IFCC. Incidently, I called Canada Post to see if I could get any information on the claim, and they said they only deal with the sender. Another case of the seller being protected more than the buyer!! Also, the e-mail I have listed of hers is the fourth one she has e-mailed us from since we started dealing with her in June. PLEASE DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS PERSON IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM!!!! If at any point in time she was an honest person, she has been corrupted by greed and I hope she pays for her mistakes.
