I had purchased 6 Sakura from a Carrie Riley of Gary Indiana. I have not
received the beanies, nor will she answer any of my mail. This transaction
took place on July 16. I have also tried contacting her via telephone and
it says her number has been changed or disconnected. On her recent feedback
another buyer has written that he has filed fraud charges. Her name wasn't
anywhere on any of the bad trader lists at the time of my purchase, nor any
negative feedback. I had sent her 460.00 via my Pay Pal.
Her name is Carrie Riley
Her email address is carrieriley@aol.com
Her Ebay user ID is 2coold
The information that I got from Ebay said she was from Gary Indiana with
a phone number. I tried calling that number but has been disconnected. Some
of the other people that have been scammed by her have a Minnesota address.
1024 Bush Ave
St Paul MN 55106
Maybe this is where she had people send money orders, I am not sure.I
payed through Pay Pal. If you can be of any help, please let me know.
Thanks Berna

Sent her 165.20 for 10 3rd generation beanies. After I sent out the money
I recieved no emails and no packages. She took my money and I have no idea
where she is now. She used a Minnesota address but ebay gave me some information
about her being from Indiana. shes a scam artist and now we are all scrambling
for our money. Jason Sweetnam

I recently agreed to buy a collection of beanies from someone on Ebay that
was selling her collection due to divorce. We agreed to a price that was
extremely fair to her and I expressed mail $2250 to her in the form of USPS
money orders. Those were delivered on April 27. Ever since, she has not responded
to a single email that I've sent to her inquiring about shipping and tracking
information. During our negotiations, she confirmed that the collection would
be in 3 boxes and weighed 86 pounds. Since this is a non-Ebay transaction
(it originated as a result of an auction listing that she had posted, but
we agreed to do it off auction), I am unable to get her registered user
information. I did discover that the seller posted feedback to another Ebay
user ID on 5/1 and that member has subsequently been suspended. However,
I noticed that they had listed an auction that ended successfully so I contacted
that winning bidder to see if they could provide contact information about
their seller. Voila! They had the same mailing address to where I sent my
payment and the same surname (slight spelling change). Unfortunately, the
phone number is not working and is invalid. I have also contacted 411 information
and there is no phone number available for either name or for that address.
I contacted UPS, as well, and there is no record of any packages originating
from that address or scheduled for delivery to my address. I have been screwed,
it seems! I, as most other people, cannot afford to just give $2250 to a
thief/con artist. Can you please help me to try to recover my money from
this person and make them take responsibility for their thievery?
Please help! I try so hard to be honest in every deal that I have with other
collectors and it really makes me sick to have this happen to me or toanyone
else.

I received three boxes this afternoon and many of the beanies are not present.
All of the rarer beanies are missing as are two of the Jumbo Peace. It was
agreed that I was buying the entire lot of beanies that she had listed on
Ebay auction #582633875. I've gone through every single beanie three times
and have come up with the same set of missing beanies each time. Here are
the missing beanies:
2 - Jumbo Peace Buddies
NO ROSE PRINCESS
21 SPOT LUCKY
BRIGHT GARCIA 4TH GEN
3 SAKURA

Obviously, those are the most valuable beanies in the group and make up
the bulk of the price/value that she was paid for the group of beanies. I
MUST know the status of those beanies right away. If she have them, she needs
to ship them to Peggy Gallagher via Express delivery so that they can be
authenticated. Otherwise, we will need to make arrangements for a full refund
and I will return the beanies that I have received so far. Additionally,
they are not all in mint condition with mint tags.

Message filed by Internet Fraud Mediator, Pat:
Ms. Barron has been advised that a complete refund plus shipping expenses
is expected or fraud charges will be filed. I have seen the pictures Ms.
Barron furnished Mr. Kick showing the beanies to be included in the order.
Mr. Kick has not received most of those beanies.

I haven't heard a word from Carrie Barron in over two weeks. Obviously, there
is no intent on her part to squarely resolve this bad transaction. I would
like to pursue an agressive resolution to this case and get a refund of full
monies from her. Until this is resolved, I am also burdened with the large
boxes of useless beanies that are next to my desk - I can't do a thing with
them since it would be a catastrophe if I return shipped them to Ms. Barron
and expected her to reciprocate with a refund. What are the steps I need
to take to achieve the most expeditious resolution to this case?
May 30, 2001
Message from Mediator, Pat
Ms. Barron has not responded to emails, nor has she sent a refund. Mr. Kick
has now been advised to aggressively pursue Internet and Federal Postal Fraud
Charges and has been given the names of the authorities to contact.

Update filed by: Donnmeg@aol.com
I just wanted to let you know that I have finally had time to sit down and
file the online documents to pursue mail and Internet fraud charges against
Ms. Carrie Baron (Riley). I submitted everything step by step and will be
mailing the form and supporting documents to the Minnesota Attorney General's
office tomorrow (Saturday). I sure do hope that something positive comes
out of all of this. I get just sick to my stomach everytime I look at the
boxes of beanies that Ms. Barron did send, knowing that the rare and hard-to-find
pieces that were the reason I agreed to the transaction in the first place
are missing. She clearly never had any intention of sending those and I'm
still convinced that the picture must have been lifted from someone else's
auction in the past. I will keep you apprised of any updates, etc. that I
receive. Here's hoping that Ms. Barron/Riley ends up in jail and is forced
to recompense all of her unfortunate fraud victims, myself included. Thanks
very much!!
