Comments: Kimberly was to send me a beanie on April 24, 2005. She gave me
several excuses of computer problems and not having my address. Then e-mails
stopped. She finally responded on June 1 after I mentioned I knew her computer
had been up for a while as she had been communicating with another trader.
She promised to send the beanie right away. Since then, she has not answered
any of my e-mails and again, I know she has been in contact with another
trader. I even sent her a letter via postal service in July which she never
acknowledged.

Comments: Mark and Maryann have been saying for a long time that these complaints
are false, the people who post here are made up and it is all a scam to smear
their good names by a competitor. I decided to see for myself. On August
12, I ordered a shirt. I received a reply saying my order had been received
and would be shipped within 1-2 weeks. I was sent a link to check to
follow the progesss. Each time I checked over the next three weeks, I got
the same page. I sent e-mail to all of their addresses,
info@americanacouture, sales@americanaCouture, customerservice@, etc. ALL
mails were returned to me as undeliverable. I checked my credit card account,
the shirt had been billed almost immediately after the order was placed.
I tried calling their number, got the recording, left a message and have
never been called back.
So on September 12, I filed a non-delievered item claim with my credit card company explaining exactly what happened and faxed them the returned e-mails I had sent. They have already responded that the charge is taken off my bill and they will be contacting the Chiisholms' bank.
On September 15, I got an e-mail from AC telling me that the shirt had been shipped. Without any delay, I checked the shipping number with the Post Office and was told "no such number exists". Yes, that's right! I have been given the old bad-shipping-number routine. I think maybe that have all of this automated in order to keep that fraud money coming in whie Maryann is in the docket!
One last thing, I wrote to Yahoo, who hosts their store page, asking them
to close the page down, explaining all of the circumstances. I got nothing
but a form letter back from them asking for more informtion! How uncaring!
All they have to do is look here or at the news about the Chisholms, and
they can see the problem. But they want me to do their footwork. Well, I
will do as much as I can and I urge the rest of you to get on Yahoo's case
too - get this site closed down! Yahoo is making it possible for this theft
and scam to continue and they need to be called to account for it! Please
get a letter to them today!
Christine

Comments: Seller sold me a 115 beanie baby on auction and made no mention
of the fact that it has a very badly creased and warped tag. Seller with
feedback in the 40's says she will only reimburse me for beanie and shipping
to me (not my cost to return to her) and ONLY if I return the beanie first.
That is one of the oldest scams on internet auctions: one returns the item
and never sees the cash. Nor will she accept an escrow arrangement. Seller
disclaims knowledge of beanies and does not take responsibility for failng
to mention the bad tag in her description because it was not her beanie.

Comments: Please make sure to check your eBay account often, almost daily. Especially if you don't actively use it and forget to even look at it. Lately there are several scammers who are hijacking eBay accounts. They revise your listing or make new one day listings. The auctions contain such phrases as "before you bid contact me for "buy it now price" and for more details at :XXX@yyy.com, for example, it will be a real email address that will lead you right to a scammer.
Other examples:
"DON'T USE E-BAY ASK SELLER - because I will not be able to give you a quick REPLY! For any questions regarding payment and shipping details please contact us via e-mail at : XXX@yoo.com"
"Mail me at:XXXX@aol.com before bidding to discuss about the terms of the payment and shipping.Thank you"
"Please mail me to xXX@xxx.com if you want to buy it now because I will check this mail often.I have this in my stock for only 700usd/unit"
There are several other varitions on this type of text. DON'T buy from anyone saying they can't receive mail through eBay so you should email them direct. These scammers are usually running one day auctions, often private, or hijack and revise an auction in the last 48 hours.
The same email addresses appear time and time again as the 'contact me here' in the auctions under dozens of hijacked IDs. As soon as eBay shuts down one hijacked ID they are back with another within minutes.
So DON'T BID on auctions that can't use the through eBay mail system and make sure you are keeping an eye on your own eBay account if you have one.
*Note from Mediator...one of the people who is hijacking eBay accounts
only offers to sell lawn and garden equipment and will offer you an exceptionally
good price if you "buy it now" off eBay. Report all offenses to
eBay.

Apparently this joker is still operating on RE-bay. Why I have no clue.
