On 3/6/00, I was the high bidder for eBay item #269982165, a Web beanie baby that was described as "guaranteed authentic". The seller's name is Cheryl Armstrong. Her seller User ID is the same as her E-mail address: cmaenterprises@juno.com On 3/9/00, I sent a money order in the amount of $295.00 (serial # 84358124627) in payment for the Web beanie to include S&H and Insurance. Prior to receiving this beanie, I began to receive E-mail messages from other eBay customers who claimed to have received fake beanies from Ms. Armstrong. At this point, I conducted a search on eBay and discovered that Ms. Armstrong had auctioned 11 Web beanies babies from 2-25-00 to 3-7-00. When I received my Web beanie in the mail, I knew immediately that it was a fake. I have had this beanie confirmed a fake by Claudia Dunne of Mary Beth's Bean Bag World. Using the Seller Contact Information available to me on eBay, I have had no response from Cheryl Armstrong. As a matter of fact, I was told that her phone # had been disconnected. Ebay's contact information for Ms. Armstrong is as follows.

On 3/27/00, I filed a fraud complaint with eBay for third party mediation
and resolution of this problem. However, on 4/10/00, I was informed by Mark
Phillip from eBay that after 14 days, Ms. Armstrong had failed to respond
to their inquiry. They have therefore closed my case and offered me their
apology. I have also noted that Ms. Armstrong is no longer a registered user
on eBay.
On 4/11/00, I filed a Fraud complaint against Ms. Armstrong with the National Fraud Information Center/Internet Fraud Watch at www.fraud.org.
