Last month I made a trade with Cheryl Mullin (cacm@chorus.net). We made a trade of my Mom-e for her Bunga Raya. We both agreed to ship Priority with Delivery Confirmation. I shipped on 5/15 and my DC# with USPS was 0301 0120 0002 1213 6077. She received it on 5/18. There was a huge problem on her part in mailing which has seemed to happen to others also. She says that when she mails packages she always leaves the package with money in an envelope for her postal carrier to put the postage on it for her. That day she mailed the package a different postal worker picked them up and left the money and it was shipped out with no postage. This happened to one other person I've talked to that made a trade with her and luckly for her she got the package with no postage on it, unfortunately I haven't. She did mail me a DC# which I don't have cause AOL deleted it when I went back to retrieve it. In the last correspondence with her she mentioned she was filling out a form to track the package. I have e-mailed her numerous times the past 4 weeks and I get no return e-mail now or anything and I don't have nothing in return for the Mom-e she now has in possesion. I'm at a lost on what to do now. I've told her I'd contact you guys, the local authorities and it hasn't budged her one bit in responding. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Her contact information is below to assist you. I do have her phone number and I don't want to call cause I know she'll probably just hang up on me. LMK if there is anything I can do to assist. Thanks for your help and I'll be looking forward to your response. She responded to an ad I placed on KNK. she also has references on KNK also under the e-mail address I gave in the e-mail.   Chris Russell

I thought she would at least reply back. All I want is the DC# so I can file a package search myself but I don't know why she refuses to not respond to my e-mails. I was very patient and understanding in giving her the benefit of the doubt that things like that happen but to not e-mail me back what she currently knows about the package, etc. baffles me as to why she's acting like this. I'm not accusing but it makes me worried that she could of possibly gotten the package back and is refusing to send it back out but I don't have proof of course. Thanks for your assistance. I might try contacting her by phone soon just to see what happens and if she'll even talk to me, good idea or not?

Cautionlist emailed her many times in regard to this complaint but although email went through she did not reply to any of them. All email was ignored.

Almost exactly a year ago I sent you the e-mail below, offering to "second" any post on Traderlist about Cheryl Mullin. I was just notified by KnK that you were adding Cheryl to the bad trader list, and I thought I'd send my story again (edited so the timeframe and details makes sense), in case you wanted to add this. I know it happened a while ago, but I figure if all the people Cheryl has tried to scam send you their stories, her pattern will become obvious, and hopefully no one else will get taken by her. I know the story is long -- please feel free to edit as necessary, or post in its entirety if you want. Many thanks,   Sarah

Cheryl Mullin (cacm@chorus.net) and I had an easy, fast trade about 2 years ago. Then a few months later we traded again, and it was much slower, there were a number of e-mails back and forth, but the second trade did happen, and she sent exactly what she said she would. Then we arranged a pre-trade -- this was right before Christmas 2000. She was looking for all of the Christmas Beanies, several Buddies, several Kids, several "common" Beanies, and 1 of each of ALL the Zodiac Beanies (all of which were brand new at the time, and fairly difficult to get at first). We worked out a trade for several of these items, and the rest I would sell to her at retail cost (I work part-time for a Ty retailer, and wasn't going to collect the Kids or Zodiacs, so I didn't mind giving up my "allotment" of those for her). I kept her constantly updated on my progress as each new shipment came in -- we were to ship everything when the "collection" was complete. Once in a while I'd get an e-mail back from her. She would also just send a friendly "hello" e-mail every so often -- just to keep in touch. When I finally had all the Beanies/Buddies/Kids/Zodiacs she had requested, I let her know. I didn't get a response. So I tried again. No response.

As I was going back through the e-mails I sent to her (several other traders have posted messages asking for help getting in touch with Cheryl, so I went back through all my correspondence with her to see if I could help), I remembered as well that she had sent an e-mail at one point, towards the end of our communications, telling me that her computer wasn't working, and I could e-mail her at her father's e-mail address (ECubbin@aol.com). That was the last time I heard from her. Her father happened to be on AOL, so I could check when/if an e-mail was read. I sent 6 e-mails to that address between October 30 and November 13, and copied her own e-mail, and not a single one of those e-mails was ever responded to, although EVERY SINGLE e-mail I sent to AOL was read. She NEVER responded to me from that address. EVERY SINGLE e-mail I sent her was "cheery," upbeat, and pleasant. She had NEVER given me any indication that she didn't want the Beanies. The only problem I could ever find was about 1/2 way through my acquiring all her Beanies (my cost in the end was close to $200), she offered to trade me Buckingham and Chinook for ALL the Beanies I was collecting for her. I politely declined that offer, as the value wasn't even close, and I really just wanted to be repaid for the actual cost of the Beanies, as we had agreed. She suggested once, too, that I send her what I had up to that point, although there was no mention of her sending anything in exchange. Soon after that she seemed to stop corresponding, leaving me with all the Beanies I had collected for her. I never heard from Cheryl with ANY kind of explanation, even though all I requested of her (after allowing a couple of weeks to go by) was an e-mail to let me know that she either did or did not want the Beanies so I would be free to get rid of them somehow. She never even gave me that courtesy, although other people posted feedback for her during this time, so I know she was actively trading.

Since I didn't actually lose anything to her, I didn't really feel like my post should be the first one on Traderlist against her. I have heard from/of several (at least 8) other traders who had similar experiences to mine -- Cheryl seems to build trust by completing a couple of good trades with someone, then tries to rip them off. I'm not sure how to help here, but I will do ANYTHING to stop this woman from taking advantage of people.  Thanks for taking the time,   Sarah

Well, I did receive the Bunga Raya. I received it today. It's funny though cause when I talked to her on the phone she said she couldn't mail it back out cause the post office took a huge black marker and crossed over my name and address and she couldn't read it. She said she would mail the original so I can see what they did. Ridiculous. There was like one light black marker across the address in which I clearly could see the address on the box. In no way was it blacked out to where she couldn't have re-sent it back out. I have a feeling that she intended to possible keep the beanie since it's harder to find right now and claim it lost but figured with me being persistant in it that she ought to go ahead and mail it back since I caught her by phone. Thanks for your help. I hope this help others in dealing with her to maybe think twice. Just goes to show that even great feedback can still cause problems. Thanks!!  Chris
