Sent Clifton Odell m/order on 11/26 for Maple Buddy; He's in Peralta, NM. Won't answer my emails, and I have not rec'd buddy! Do you have any info. on him from previous buyers/traders? I saw his Auction on JustBeanies and bid #19207674 but lost out by a hair. I wrote & asked him if he had any other Maple Buddies and he replied yes; gave me info, I mailed money order (postoffice) on 11/26; still waiting. I sent him $30.00. No response other than he rec'd my m/o and Happy Thanksgiving. Haven't had any luck after sending several emails since then w/any response. I biddded on 3 auctions he had on justbeanies. on 11/22/99 I sent him a money order in the amount of $41.50. The next week I sent him an email to see if he had gotten it. His reply (finally) was yes and that the beanies were on their way. Well, they didn't show up. Kept on emailing him and then I get another email saying they were sent on on 12/8. Well, they are not here yet. And I have not received an email since.I went today back to the post office and filed a tracer on the money order. I am going to do everything I can to get this guy. He is still at omilo@aol.com from what I can tell. I check status of the emails I send him and they show to have been read.  Address I have is: Clifton Odell / po box 1364 / Peralta, Nm 87042. Looks like to me he can get in trouble having a post office box and scamming  all these folks. Hey, I can't even get back on justbeanies to file a complaint there. Just beanies sent me some info on him including his phone number. Which is 505-866-0829.

well I have been out of the town for a long time about six months. I got back and all hell has broken loose. Unless everybody stands back each and everyene will have a lawsuit for defermation of character. No one wants a lawsuit, but I have my reputation to protect. While I was gone somebody had used my name and user name that is not cool. I have an idea who it was. Please email back asap so we can find out who thank you

for starters the auctions did't take place until November sometime around the middle. So your facts are backword. And if this continues I will sue you for harrassment, Derfermation of character, And pain and suffering, time off the job and a huge civil judgement against you. Please withdraw your actions or precedence will take place

He is a crook, he has taken about 7 of us to the cleaners. I am filing a mail fraud complaint against him as soon as I get my checks back from the bank. just beanies will co-operate with the authories they said. this is about all we can do. No one is using his e-mail as Just beanies has his info. Only one person I know of has gotten a small something from him as he wanted to get good feedback. One of the people is from England. I was suppose to go to the bank today and get copies of my check but I forgot I will do it on Monday and then take it to the post office. this is the best way to get him. Beware. My wife bought several beanies from this person via justbeanies.com. The money was sent last month. We have not heard from him since then. After repeated attempts at trying to contact him via e-mail we contacted justbeanies.com and found out that he has a growing number of negative feedback from people with the same complaint. I have been conversing with these people and our experiences are quite similar. I obtained his phone number and tried calling it today. To no great surprise it has been disconnected. I have reported him to his ISP complete with a message from justbeanies.com confirming that they are aware of the problems with this seller. I have also reported him to Ebay as it appears that he has recently registered with them. Thought you all should know.Rob

i have mailed 3 others who have left bad report on his trading list. i havesent him $140 for a libearty and glory, he mailed me 12 dec to say he'd got my money (which i sent 19th nov) and that my bears were on the way. i'll have to wait maybe till after xmas to see as the postage to the uk is slow now.  will keep in touch

I was scammed by Clifton Odell on Just Beanies auction to the tune of $392.52. I have a list of approximatley seven people who also have been taken by him. If I can help in anyway, please, please let me know. I have already placed a mail fraud charge against him and had him banned from the Just Beanies Auction, I have also notified eBay of his antics. Of course we know and have proved that he is the one that sold these beanies and is still on line currently trying to make deals.

The only Odell I was able to find in Los Lunas, NM using internet searches was Homer Odell. E-mail searches and searches performed on the surname/state combination did not come up with Clifton or Howard Odell. Has anyone tried calling the phone number Odell supplied to Ebay when he registered there.I'd like to know if AOL has received a complaint from Mr. Odell that someone has been using his account and password? He is claiming that someone used his e-mail did he not? I know if someone managed to get my id and password and started using it I would have it cancelled once I found out about it.Now just how does someone get a hold of a person's user ID as well as the password? I sent an e-mail to AOL on Friday from my work so I don't know if they have responded yet. He says that he has been away for 6 months? Where? And his cards were stolen? The thief also used his identity to register with various internet auctions? Answer me this, if you were a thief and you got your hands on someone's credit cards what would be the first thought on your mind? Internet auctions? I don't think so. His story keeps getting better and better each day. Although I've never had to do it myself I assume a money order can be traced like a cheque? I suggested to my wife that she go to her bank first thing on Monday and put a trace on it. All cheques and money orders are being made out to Clifton Odell and I assume that in US banks one would have to provide some ID before the bank will cash it. Clifton is the name that he used to register with justbeanies.com. I think Howard is a name he came up with when he registered with Ebay. It doesn't look like he has actually tried to sell anything on Ebay as of now. He has no feedback of current auctions there. Perhaps we should leave a warning for all to see at Ebay via the feedback forum there. Hopefully that would scare off any business he might drum up.Unfortunately I don't think we are in the best position to obtain the information we need to substantiate or discredit his story but I do believe it just that, a story. An investigator could check out the details regarding the credit card theft, as well as the information regarding PO box 1364 in Peralta and his story that he was away for 6 months.

I faxed the Attorney General, Santa Fe, New Mexico today w/story and attached the feedback on Justbeanies. I also asked them to send me address/ph. no. of police dept. there. Ebay notified me of his information..different phone no. but it is also disconnected and the name on their account is Howard N. Odell, 505/565-8711 in LOS LUNAS, NM. I called the operator after the recording said this no. was not in service and she told me there was no Howard Odell in Los Lunas; I asked if there was a Clifton and she said yes, but the no. was unpublished. I would like to post the name of a man who in the past month has stolen hundreds of dollars on auctions.  His name is: Clifton Odell  P.O. Box 1364  Peralta, NM 87042 He goes by the name Omilo on Just Beanies web site. He took me for almost 40.00 and there are at least 7 other people on the site looking for him. I think he is a rat and should be trapped. I am leaving for Christmas today, but as soon as I return, I will be working to get my money back. We have to stop people like this.

I also called NM sheriffs dept. I talked to a Sgt. David Carr in Valencia Co. He said that I need to file some sort of a complaint to my local authorities and then fax that report to him. He would be glad to take it from there. He said he knows of a Clifton Odell , but he is an electrical contractor in town. He is going to check out the P>O> box number himself and he is going to email me this evening. I have his phone and fax and I will forward his email as soon as I get it if you like.I also called the National Fraud Center at 800-876-7060 and reported this whole thing. I asked what their capabilities were and she said that they were a reporting service and usually didn't get too much accomplished for just a single individual, but if they have a lot of complaints, them they could do some pretty impressive stuff. So if you would let everyone know to call and report on that number (I know its busy, but keep trying) I will let everyone on my lists know to report also. Thanks again, Ginny

My name is Haley and I also won one of Odells auctions. It has been one month to the day and I haven't heard a thing from him. I was even honest with him and when he e-mailed me how much I owed him I noticed that he forgot to add in shipping so I added in on my check and put a nice note saying that if my calculation was wrong to let me know....JERK!!!!!!I have never had any problem with buying or selling but this man is mean.Let me know if I can help you in any way. The person using the e-mail address of omilo@aol.com listed several auctions in "JUST BEANIES" We were interested in several of the buddies and beanies he had listed but the auctions had closed. We contacted Omilo by e-mail to see if any of them were sill for sale. He e-mailed us back with a long list of hard to find beanies and buddies at reasonable prices. We, along with a fellow collector, agreed to divide the cost of 4 Maple buddies, 4 Brittannia buddies, 4 Peace buddies, 4 Snowboy buddies and 4 blue faced Spangle beanies. We each sent a m.o. for $208.00 to Clifton Odell at P.O. box 1364 Peralta N.Mexico 87402 on Nov. 25 1999. When asked if the package was sent he told us it was sent via UPS. We have not received any of the buddies or beanies and when we contacted other people that had dealings with Mr. Odell we found that he had taken payment for several auctions and not sent any of the promised items. Paperwork for filing Mail fraud charges has been requested and we are awaiting its arrival.

You can add me to the list. I sent Omilo money orders on several auctions he had on Just Beanies. He told me stuff was on the way, but I never got anything. I also found out that Just Beanies has closed down now. They said because of a lawsuit by TY, but I wonder if it is because of the heat on Clifton O'dell, who I think is a big part of Just Beanies. Can you contact all those people that you contacted that have been had by this guy? Give them my E-mail address and let them know to file a report with their law enforcement and fax them to me. I was the high bidder on a few of his auctions, Clifton auctions. He was using the sellers name and user name of OMILO@AOL.COM, and I recieved emails from him. I sent him my money, a money order for $223.50 and a personal check for $100.00, and again I recieved an email from him stating that he recieved my money and that he would mail out the merchandise the next day. After that time I never heard from him again. I sent a few emails to the same email address and heard nothing till 12-23-99 when I recieved a message from a man named Howard from the same email address. He stated to me that Clifton was not authorized to use Howards AOL account and that Howard has never sold any beanies himself. What I dont understand is how was this guy Clifton was able to set up an account with justbanies using the address of OMILO@AOL.com if it was not his user name? Did this Clifton use Howards computer? I just dont understand all of this. What should I do. Should I go to the police department in California or shoiuld I call them? How do I report this? Please help I am just so confussed on what to do. Thanks ever so much, Mindy

i talked to a manager today from check mart where clifton odell has been cashing our m.o. and personal checks,he said everyone has to fill out a verified application i would not think it would be hard to figure out who he is.....the phone and location are (505)262-1517......4521 central ave.Ne........albuquerque,new mexico....cant you sgt.carr get some info. on him and let us know?just seems like hes gonna wal away with all this money and keep laughing......

As far as information on Clifton goes. I have all I need. I have his SSN, his D.O.B. His current address and all. So ... here is where we are at now. The FBI has a copy of everything I worked up to date, The Att. Gen. Will be getting a copy of everything. The U.S. Post Office has a copy of it and they to are looking at it. I hate to say this.... But..... Now is the time where we all just sit and wait to see who is going to do what. I assure you that I will not let this rest. If I get a warrant for his arrest and file the charges and if he is found guilty he will only do about 2 years max. If the FBI or the Att. Gen. or the Post office do something he will be looking at 5 years Min. So... I want one of the three to go first. If I have to file I want to use that as a last resort sort of to speak. Do you understand what I am trying to do? I am also hoping that when he is found guilty that the Judge makes him repay all of you back. I will keep you informed of what's happening. Thank you,
