Complaint filed by: ptay39@ndirect.co.uk

I think this lady has come unstuck because she did brit and maple buddy pre-sales and she just couldn't get them. Most if not all complaints on her ebay feedback are about this or other buddy non-deliveries on presale. THis is my original complaint that I made to you sometime ago. "I am in the UK and agreed a trade via a UK tradeboard with this "lady" Debbie Flowers in the US. I agreed to send her three Britannia buddies and she agreed to send me a 1st edition Germania, a Coral and a Kiwi. I offered to send first but she said it wasn't necessary - we would send together. A month later I emailed a few times before I received a reply that she had received my buddies. My package still hasn't arrived after 8 weeks. I have written several times without reply and have now told her that the legal firm where I work are prepared to help me to sort this out (quite true). She then responded that she was sending my package out by UPS and I should have it in 3 days. She said she would supply a tracking number but has failed to answer my requests for this number. This delightful lady appears to have scammed several people. Negative/neutral feedback has appeared on ebay since I agreed the trade with her. Her current user ID is waterman5. She appears to have been reported for fraud and some credit card companies are now pursuing her as they have had to refund money to their own customers who have been scammed by her. She is currently using beanienation, user ID thebeaniebroker. Oh yeah - and the best bit - she has a link to your site from her own sordid little website: thebeaniebroker.com"
UNQUOTE
I think the deal took about ten weeks in all. She claims to have sent the first package but never wrote to me with the tracking number I asked for. In fact she never wrote at all for weeks. I emailed you at this time and you emailed her. That was when I finally heard back from her.  She wrote back and said she was sending the parcel. She didn't say at that stage she was sending a second parcel. She only wrote that in a message within the parcel itself. She seems to have serious problems and I can't help feeling a bit sorry for her. Until about November she had great feedback on ebay. I think the pre-sales have been her downfall. I would also like to add that I received my (second?) parcel within 4 days via UPS which must have cost her a fair amount in postage although she didn't e-mail to say it was on its way. She said she would send it - then nothing again. I would also like to add that the beanies she sent me were absolutely great. I'm sure that they're genuine and are far better than I dared hope.Hope this helps you sort out the other people. I hear she has been suspended from Beanie Nation as well now.

Debbie Flowers, (bbroker@thebeaniebroker.com), Buhler, KS 67522. This was a pre-sell end of September. Debbie charged my Visa Card - had almost 200 positive feedback Collecting Nation - Amount charged was $695. As of December 7 she has 12 negative feedbacks on Collecting Nation - mostly involving Credit Card charges as high as almost $1,000 per transaction. She does not answer Emails. She has now been suspended from Collecting Nation. I checked ebay after I was taken - and she was suspended from ebay sometime last year.I have reported all this to the proper agencies and police - and my credit card company. I do believe in the end she will get away with this as the system is not yet set up to really go after all these frauds - and the laws are vague. Reactions from local and State Police agencies are that this is a civil matter although they have enough proof that in my instance I am not alone, there are 12 others, who have been defrauded. I have been told that although they believe this to be fraud, they do not have the resources to go after all these people - and thus choose to call this a civil matter in most instances. The Web Police and most other agencies are as ineffective in most instances as well. Please DO NOT DEAL WITH ----- Debbie Flowers --If you have found an effective way to deal with Fraud - please let me know. I do not believe the Ms Flowers of the Internet should go unpunished. Please help.

I won an auction on a Britannia Beanie Buddie (presell) on October 9, 1999; for $117.00. The auction promised to deliver by December 10, 1999, or the seller would refund my money or pay shipping costs (see 1141991.bmp). Since December 10, 1999, I have been in dialogue with the seller to no avail. It is obvious to me she is not going to send my merchandise nor refund my money. I am in the process of sending a letter to my credit card company to get my funds recouped. In the meantime, I want to ensure that Ms. Flowers does not do this to other patrons like me. Please assist. Thank-you, Robert S. Barnes

I just wanted to answer to this email and to what has been said about me. The reason that you haven't heard back from me sooner is because I have been offline and unable to get connected until now. I've had problems with phone lines being installed and then my computer just wouldn't connect so it has been as frustrating for me as it has been for the people that I have been dealing with. I have finally received all of the email that was sent to me and will be answering all of it today even if it means staying up all night. This problem with my connection could be why the email that you sent to me was bounced back to you because you will see that if you send an email to me now that it will arrive to me. I will be taking care of all buyers who have requested that their money be refunded since my auction stated that I would. I am truly sorry for the problems that this last presell had because of the Britannia and Maple buddies but I've been dealing with suppliers that just got too greedy along with the problems at the Canadian border recently. If you will check my feedback before this last presell you will see that I had a lot of positive remarks that told exactly how I normally take care of business, and I am planning on making sure that this is how business is dealt with again. traders_name: Debbie Flowers Comments: Looks like I should have checked here first. This was from a presell over the summer with Ebay. The last I heard from her was in October. Using the sdb@ourtownusa.net address, I finally tracked her down again, and guess what, she says this wasn't her auction. Guess I'm out $128. Next step is filing a complaint with the Post Office

Here's a new email address for Debbie Flowers (dflowers@southwind.net) as well as the latest from her:

"I’m writing to everyone that I owe a refund to so that I can let you know why you haven’t received it yet. I was told that my uncle would be loaning me the money and that he would be sending the refunds to everyone so that he would be able to confirm that it was done and what the exact total amount would be. I assumed that since I sent him the list of everyone well over a month to six weeks ago that it had been taken care of. It has recently come to my attention because of phone calls and mail sent to me that he hadn’t sent those refunds out. I tried contacting my uncle but wasn’t able to actually connect with him so I contacted my mother who informed me that my uncle is having some health and family issues that has probably caused him to not follow through as he had promised me he would. I’m sure by now you believe me to be nothing more than a liar and I really don’t blame you. My parents have told me that they will step in and get everyone paid for me but won’t be able to do so until March 24th. I realize that this is yet another month away but they are getting the funds from the sale of their home which will be finalized on that date. My mother has told me to give you her phone number in this message so that if you’d like to you can call her to confirm that what I’m saying is true and that she will confirm with you that you will be paid no later than that March 24th date that I’m giving you. (*note from Mediator..if you wish the mother's name and phone number, please write to me). I wish that I could have gotten an outside loan to take care of this but because of my pending divorce and my soon to be ex doing all that he can to hurt me I’m just not able to get one at this time. If things turn around for my uncle or if I find that I can get the money any sooner than I will let you know but I can promise you that your refund will be on it’s way to you no later than the March 24th date. If you’ve been sending me emails and I haven’t responded than I’m sorry but it’s because I haven’t been getting them. My soon to be ex has been hacking into my email account and deleting messages hoping that I’ll get into trouble with everyone getting mad from a lack of communication. I’ve only discovered that he’s been doing this again, I thought that he had finally given up doing this."

I don't buy her excuses and have filed a complaint with the Internet Fraud Complaint Center and urge everyone else to as well.https://www.ifccfbi.gov/
