I have been referred to you by numerous emails after I won an auction on Ebay for an advertised "Authentic" Libearty. I paid $159..49 for the bear on the auction. when it arrived, I became suspicious of it's authenticity. I emailed the seller, Ebay ID Taylortime5, Don Wilson, whom I have been buying commons from for about 6 months, of my suspicion. When it came back from Peggy Gallagher, she said the bear was authentic, but the swing tag was definitely a fake! I sent Don a copy of the letter from Peggy and asked for my money back, as he advertised it being sold from his personal collection, "authentic". He refused and said "at least the bear was not counterfeit! I have filed a claim first with PayPal, because I paid with a credit card and I wanted to post his scam on your Bad trader list. I am not sure how to do this. By the way, he has changed his wording in his auctions to say: I think it is authentic, but can't be sure! Thank you for your time and let me know how I can best get the word out to stop him from taking other peoples money. Janice.

Ebay auction # 1733537109. His Ebay ID is taylortime5. The auction ended 5/24/02. I paid $159.49 plus $2.00 shipping. I paid thru PayPal and have filed a claim with them a few days ago and have not heard anything. I will be filing a claim with my credit card company as you advised. If you have time view auction # 1738189332. After I emailed him about his "Authentic" being counterfeit, he changed the wording in his auction from Authentic, to I think it is Authentic. Looks like this poor soul got duped also on the three older bears he won. I am also going to forward the letter from Peggy Gallagher that I got after I sent if off to be authenticated. I sent Libearty and Coral, which I bought some time ago from someone local, in the same package to be authenticated. As you can see I got beat on both. Again, I appreciate your help. Janice.

Cautionlist emailed him several times but although he did read emails about the complaint he ignored them and did not reply.

I did not receive 4 items that I ordered and asked for insurance on from Don Wilson. Twice he said he would refund my money but he never has and when I did negative feedback on him he said that he was putting a stop payment on my check but I never received a check. I then told him I was doing an online fraud complaint on him after doing more negative feedback and I never received anymore email from him. He threatened me saying he would do everything in his power to get me kicked off of Ebay and called me nuts on a negative feedback. I have all the copies of everything he said. Total for all four auctions paid for at once was $46.30, including insurance and he did not insure. His manner was very unprofessional and he lied several times. Please let me know what happens and I am more than willing to send all copies of email I sent and copies he emailed me. I made a copy of the email where I asked for insurance, with the total for each charge listed seperately. I do not have the email where he told me the total but the total was correct. He cashed the check and when the items were missing he said he would refund my money but then later said I did not insure them. I question him why he cashed the check as I had requested insurance and he said the total was wrong. Why would he cash it and not let me know I had shorted him on total???? I paid $46.30 he said I should have paid $46.70 but that does not figure out right with insurance. My total did. Sincerely, Sandra Kripps

We won quite a few of his auctions and sent payment totaling $40.00 US funds including postage . We waited a few weeks and no shipment arrived so we e-mailed . His answer was that he had mailed them "Overseas Rate" and that the parcel should arrive shortly.    The strange thing is that we both live in Atlantic Canada , only a couple of hundred miles away from each other . When I e-mailed to tell him this, his next comment was " Oh. The parcel must be lost in the mail and you should have bought insurance."   I was very disappointed in that answer because lost mail is not a big problem in our postal system and I found his answer to be flippant and I don't for one minute even believe he sent a parcel to us .  I hope this helps.  Sincerely,    Rosemary

It's about time someone did something about him...... he has an awful attitude....What happened was that I purchased a beanie, and sent payment for 1999 signature beanie, and then purchased princess beanie. I received princess before I received 1999 signature... I asked him if he had shipped it out, he said yes he did...... but if I dont receive it to let him know by the end of the week.... so I did, I told him i didn't receive it...... his wife (who I believe is in on this scam too who goes under lesnb ebay user name as she told me her name is Leslie) told me that it was my tough luck as I didnt purchase the insurance and that it was lost in the mail.... and they didn't have any more 1999 signatures to even try to replace it. A few weeks later, they had one up for auction again on ebay..... their attitude is what prompted me to leave such a negative response.. if I can be of any more help, please, by all means do email me back..... they need to be stopped as soon as possible.... they are a crooked pair.   I hope this helps      Kim Lattanville

I bought two fakes recently from two different sellers on EBay. I just sent them off to Peggy Gallagher who told me they were fakes. I have emailed the sellers politely advising them what Peggy reported and I asked for a refund. I have just received their replies, and I need help now with the next step in my response to each.  One seller, Don Wilson in Canada (TaylorTime5@aol.com) I bought flutter for $122 with shipping. Ebay #1738056844  ( The ad states it is authentic and he says nothing about all sales being final)  When I told him flutter was authenticated as fake he wrote:

"Hi Kate  I am sorry but all sales are final on the beanies. I bought them also on  ebay and was assured of their authenticity. I am sorry it did not work out. If you had asked to have them shipped directly from here for authenticification then I would have been able to offer a refund but all ty dealers have stick no refund policys on beanies. People have been known to get beanies and trade them for fakes and return the fakes for refunds and keep the real ones. This policy can not be changed.   Don "

"Hi Kate    Sorry but the beanie that I sold you was authentic. I will not be scammed by you on accepting a fake beanie in return. My policy is not going to change.  Don"

Please help me! I can't believe these people!!!!!!! I actually emailed Don requesting he put the address label through the tush tag as Peggy Gallagher advises, which he didn't do. Had he done this as I asked him he would have known it was his beanie. I paid for it with cash in my Paypal account.  Thanks so much for taking your time,    Kate Altizer

On June the 8th I was the winner of one of Mr. Don Wilson (taylortime5) auctions, it was for a Authentic Ty Champion Beanie Buddy Japan, item #1737900538, the price was US$30.79 plus US$5.00 shipping. On June the 9th I made arrangements with PayPal to have him paid. On June the 11th I received an e-mail stating that my purchased was shipped. On June the 18th the package arrive at my house, or should I say envelope. This was a bubble envelope and the size of it was 7 inches by 10 inches, a size that a regular beanie baby would hardly fit into let alone a beanie buddy. The buddy was crunched & rolled up into a ball and jammed into this small envelope. The Ty tag had a protector on it but the FIFA tag did not and because of the way the buddy was all squeezed in to this envelope, the tag was creased. I sent Mr. Wilson an e-mail stating my dissatisfaction about his poor packaging. I requested that he either send me another one packaged better or give me my money back. He said that there was no tag protection for this tag and that it came from Ty that way and that  No replacement or refund will be given. I feel because of the very small envelope and the way it was stuffed into it that was what caused this tag to be creased. Maybe if he had sent it packaged in a box this may not have happened, or it was creased before he sent it. If this is the case, I felt that I was misled by him not stating that. I read the write up about him on Traderlist.com. I have a different address for him, it is;
Don Wilson
99 Sumac Street
Moncton, New Brunswick E1A 5K4
Canada

I don't know if this matters.

Also from the one of the complaint it mentioned his wife who goes by the name of lesnb, that she maybe in on it too. Last Aug. I purchased a Washington Attic treasure from her, when the packaged arrived, inside was a Uncle Sam Attic treasure. She said that who ever packaged it made the mistake and that she would exchanged it for the right one. Just to send it back, but at whose expense? Since I wanted to get Uncle Sam anyway I just kept it. A month later she had another Washington up for sale and I bought it. No trouble except for that mix up. But this is very interesting to read that they are husband and wife. When I gave him feedback, I waited a few days to cool down or I might have said some nasty things. I had intended to give him negative feedback but I guess I hit the neutral instead. Ron

The items that I was sent were damaged and did not appear new!! The 6 of the fuzz tags seemed different. I am not sure if they were fake or not. My sister said that they were. I contacted them the first of May in regards to these problems. I was emailed that they would send replacements to me ASAP. I never received the.m. After repeated emails, they finally answered again and said that I should be patient as it will take up to 3-4 months for mail to come from Canada( please- that is so untrue) I was told to wait for another 2-3 months for the replacement items before I commented.  However, I decided to place the comments now before my 90 days ran out as a warning to others. Of the 36 beanies that I bought- 10 were bad and 6 more had questionable hang tags! I hope this was helpful. I have decided that I will probably not buy from ebay for awhile as I have had 2 recent bad experiences. Thanks so much!   Bobbie

Update filed by: SpunkyDog@aol.com

I just wanted to give you an update on my fraud with Don Wilson, (Taylortime5) for the counterfeit Libearty you have helped me with. As you told me in your email, PayPal is worthless sending a claim to them. All of their "protection" is a bunch of crap. My credit card company refused to take it off of my charge after I filed a fraud claim with them, they say because I did not return the item to the seller! He refused to take it back! After all of that, I received a letter from Ebay today and they are honoring my claim for $159.49, less the $25.00 deductible, a refund check is coming for $134.49. This purchase happened on May 23rd, almost 5 months later! He is still listed as a Ebay seller, they obviously haven't banned him. You have to tell your readers to be persistent. Thank you for all of your information and I have recommended your website to many internet friends. Have a great day. Janice.
