Your name was given to me by a frequent trader. In September I paid for a "Presell" (I know!!!). My Nipponia, Buckingham and Chinook were promised by Dec. 30th. On Christmas eve the sellers family email ed a generic letter to all who purchased from Janet Rout that her husband has been in a terrible accident. While I am sensative to this fact, I still have not heard anything!! I emailed them that my prayers were with them but it was important to keep in touch. I have heard NOTHING! Please advise me what to do next. I do not want to be cold. I won 2 presell auctions#1900869 and auction #1867421. The first auction was 1867421 on August 26, 2000. I sent a payment of 81.75 to

I should have received Chinook beanie by December 31, 2000

I won auction #1900869 on September 19,2000 also a presell and should have received Buckingham, Nipponia and Chinook by Dec 31,2000. I sent a payment of $207.74. I emailed the seller Jan 1 and was emailed back by the sellers sister Laura saying Janets husband had been in an accident Dec 15, 2000. I have not received an email from Janet and I have been in touch with another winner of a presell auction of Janet's that has even threatened to call the authorities and has had no responce.. Ok I am really confused. We have been emailing her. I explained the situation to her that my husband was in an accident. And that the shipments were delayed getting out here is her last email to me:

Janet claims she sent them, but cannot provide accurate information to track the package. Her newest delay is that her husband was injured and is in the hospital.

Purchased a Presale auction on Ebay from Janet Rout. Janet offered an auction on September 26, 2000, for seven sets of latest International Trio to be delivered no later December 20, 2000. I purchased two sets! I was going to give one International Trio to a very dear friend who graduated from college December 9, 2000. And, give the second set to my neice for her Sweeet 16! I figured it would be perfect an awesome gift for Christmas/ Graduation and Birthday. Aparently, her husband was hurt in an auto accident on Dec 10, 2000 and it would be Jan 6, 2001 before she could even begin to fill orders. I have emailed her twice a week since Jan 6 2001 and have requested my money back. It is nearly the end of Jan and I have still not received my money back or for that fact the beanies. I was given your email saying you may be able to help me and a friend. It was 1-Nipponia and 1-Buckingham for $156.74. That is Janet Rout(email) janet.rout@worldnet.att.net. She goes under janetmarie4. We have email many times. Her first email from her sister said her husband (janets) had broke his neck so we both said we would be patient. We have both been emailing and in one email to me she said she was going to the hospital to take husband off life support. To my friend she told her he was in physical theraphy .It has been 4 months . So in my last email two days ago I told her I was going to try to get someone to help and to please answer me. I have never heard from her. Is there any recourse for us? We would like a refund at this point. She has been adding things on No Bidding and selling them and getting new feedback. My friend told me I should write to you with my problem with Janet Rout.I am getting a run around about a refund.I reserved Buckingham and Nipponia from her on Oct.4,2000 for the amount of $156.74. I have emailed several times asking about a refund. She has been putting new ads on No Bidding. and I notice in her feedback that some people are receiving the new products listed,But in the emails it is stated that she can not get to the post office.This makes me wonder how the other people are receiving their things.I don't know what to do could you please help. I won a pre-sell (#1893313) back in Sept of 2000. I promptly sent her $193.30 thru paypal. She promised to ship by 12/20. After 12/20, I get an e-mail stating that her husband been in an accident and may die. I just got an e-mail from her stating that her mother is coming to help her get the beanie shipments out. Is there any info you can give me on this case...I mailed 12/22  $238 amount for a Thank U Bear w/certificate I was told & I called this lady & seem t/b a very nice person & have believed her but need to know whether or not now should I...I called and found out that the m/o was cashed 1/4...I thought her husband was injured 12/16 or in the middle of Dec...but others have different stores listed on your site..it doesn't matter except quite of few others have bought thing on the metexchange.com site & this is beginning to seem like a problem is coming to a head... I Would like to have a response posted under the complaint from Bpmiceli@aol.com, When she posted the very first complaint her 2nd set of beanies were already on the way. She was just mad because I told her not to call and leave threatening messages on the answering machine because it scared my daughter. It WAS NOT the threat of posting to the traderslist or the threat of calling the police since the beanies were already on the way. Now she is flat out harassing me. There is not reason for her to keep posting to the traderslist more than a month after she has them in hand.

If your name is not on this list, there is a larger, second batch being mailed out either Monday or Tuesday, and again, I will email with those delivery confirmation numbers as soon as they are provided to me.

I have not verified each delivery confirmation above, but as with my local Post Office, they often take a day or so to be input. I believe these may be going through a mailing center, rather than a Post Office-and again, while there are no guarantees, all the other delivery confirmation numbers which have been provided to me over the last three weeks have been delivered, with the correct items.

I was given your email address by someone who is in the same fix as me. I reserved a presale order done through nobidding that I bought from Janet Rout on Sept 8, 2000. My two orders of Nipponia, Buckingham, and Chinook was to be delivered no later than Dec 31 or I was guaranteed my money back. Janet has had a tragedy in her family, which I know is difficult. However, every time I request my money back, she assures me that she has them in hand, and is just having a hard time getting them shipped out. Now her mother is supposed to be there helping her, but she has a backlog of 900 presales!!! My most recent email this past weekend has gone unanswered, which really scares me since I have paid her so much money. Can you help? Cecilia Janney

I had a deal for beanie babies with this person, she said that the first shipment I sent (which i have a delivery confirmation that they were delivered) apparently never got to her. I sent her a 2nd set and was going to deal with the insurance later. She called my house and left a threatening message, which scared the heck out of my daughter. Then after i told her not to call my house and leave messages like that again. She posted to this message board. Then even after she got the beanies the next day, first she said it was because she threatened the police. Now over one month after she had them in her hands, she posted again saying that it was because of the traderlist that i sent them. No offense to the traderlist, but they never contacted me before she already had the beanies. She just keeps posting against me to be mean.

Another trader on nobidding was kind enough to give me your name and address, as she thought maybe you could help me in a situation I am in. Last September, I reserved a set of pre-sells bears from Janet.rout that were to be delivered by 12-20-00. So far, all I have received are e-mails that make other delivery promises but still nothing. Supposedly, there had been an accident in their family, therefore I was more than patient. But now, my e-mails are being ignored. I know I am not the only one in this predicament, as I have been keeping in contact with some of the others who also have received nothing but promises. If you can help in any way, or have any suggestions, any and all would be kindly appreciated. I have also contacted nobidding.com, but they have not yet replied. I can't believe I have to contact you again this soon but I am having trouble with another deal. I thought this lady was safe to buy from because she had excellent feedback so maybe you will be able to resolve this for me. Let me see if I can briefly summarize the situation for you. On 01/21/01 I sent a PayPal payment of $224.05 to janet.rout@worldnet.att.net (her name is Janet Rout) for a total of 10 buddies on NoBidding. I started contacting her when I hadn't heard anything after a week or so. Her sister wrote back saying Janet's husband was in the hospital but the buddies would be on the way soon. I asked for a refund if they could not be shipped by 02/02/01. She wrote me on 02/03/01 to say 2 boxes were on the way but it turned out she had only sent one box with 3 of the buddies in it. I have repeatedly tried to get a refund for the rest of the buddies which amounts to $128.05 but she, her sister, and even her mother have kept stalling and saying they would be shipping the buddies any day now, tomorrow, etc. Now they have not responded to my e-mails for the last 3 days. All I want is a refund for the buddies not shipped, no more promises that they will be coming. I can understand if she is having personal problems to deal with but surely someone in the family can find a moment to PayPal me my refund. Can you do anything for me?  Thanks,  Laura Hazeltine

This is the third time I have ran into money problems,think I should stop buying from the internet?  I won a presell auction on Sept 13,2000. I was a presell for nipponia,buckingham,and chinook. I sent a m.o. for $208.75. Janet received it. I was guaranteed shipment between 12/1 to 12/20/2000. I emailed her an 12/20/2000, to check status of the shipment, and her sister sent an email saying her (janet's) husband had been in an accident.Then on Dec 31,2000 her sister sent an email telling about the accident ,and said things should be getting mailed out next week. On Jan 2,2001, I emailed saying I wanted a refund, because they were not shipped by the date given. Then her sister and I had a lot of choice words on several different emails because I wanted a refund. She also told me I had to wait longer for it.Then on Jan 3,2001, she asked to verify my address, and a check would be in the mail. And I waited and waited and nothing. So I emailed on Jan 22.2001 and told her I was going to take futher action. Then she proceeded with more excuses and said her mom would be down in a week and things would get mailed. So I mailed again on Feb.13,2001 and asked where my money was, and she said they had already sent out over 100 packages, and I asked where my money was, and she said all she could send was a $100.00 now and the rest in a couple of weeks. I said o.k. if that was the only way I could get my money,but I did not want to wait 2 months to get the rest. I also told her I wanted it in the form of a postal money order, which is the way I sent it or by paypal. I have not had any response since. Please Help!!!! Thanks, Kathy Rubio

Janet Rout of Gresham, Oregon had a presell for Nipponia, Buckingham, and Chinook beanies on NoBidding. I sent $197 with the understanding the beanies would be delivered by Dec 31, or money refunded. Have contacted her constantly since Dec 31, and have been told several "sad" stories with promises that they would be mailed "next week," "within the next two weeks," etc. My emails are being ignored. She is still selling on NoBidding. My friend is out $150 for two of her beanies. Careful! .My friend's name is Marcia Gorringe and she ordered through Collecting Nation. My order was through NoBidding. Marcia does not have a computer, so I take care of her emails, etc.. She ordered Nipponia and Buckingham and I believe she paid $154 for the two of them on the presell.

I reserved two items, Nipponia & Buckingham, on NoBidding.com 9/15/00, guaranteed by 12/15/00 from Janet Rout, User name: janetmarie4. I didn't receive them by that date. I emailed after the holidays and received the reply that her husband was in an accident. I gave her more time because of this. In the meantime, her 'sister' was helping post ads and answer emails. I was emailed on 1/6/01 and told the beanies would be in the mail either Monday or Tuesday. No beanies so I emailed again. This time she said her husband had to have emergency surgery. Again, I gave her the benefit of the doubt and waited. On 1/30/01, I emailed and told her I thought the best thing to do was just to refund my money to my PayPal account. On 2/4/01, she said her mother was coming to help her get the beanies shipped out that week. I emailed back and said okay. On 2/16/01, I haven't received anything and emailed telling her I would be posting to the Caution List, IFCC (www.ifccfbi.gov), National Fraud Center (www.fraud.org) and PayPal. Less than an hour later, she emailed me back and said that her mother was still helping her and for me to re-verify my address which I did. On 2/22/01, I told her I would be posting to the Caution List, IFCC, National Fraud Center, and PayPal. Less than an hour later, she emailed and said I didn't have to do that and gave me a confirmation number. I wrote and asked when it would be mailed and she said 22nd or 23rd. I've checked the confirmation number each day in the morning and evening and it's still not showing up. I didn't even bother to email her this time. Enough is enough. I want my refund. I had repeatedly emailed Janet a reminder that I had paid for 2 Buckingham, 2 Nipponia, and 2 Chinook. I received one of each. I am furious. I know she has done this to others as well. Thought everyone should be aware of the problem. Another interesting fact...It was mailed from Succasunna, New Jersey - with Janets's return address on the mailing label. If you are going to post that then please post this. First of all it should not matter where it is shipped from. But if it is that big of a deal, I traded 6 Buckingham's with non mint tags for 2 mint sets of the trios to be sent to her. I have been living a nightmare from hell the last few months. I Know that the shipments are late. Everyone is getting their sets. If i could, i would send them all tomorrow, but that is impossible, so i send as many as i can, as often as i can. I don't understand why people have to assume the worst, and make this situation even harder. You post everything that people send you about me, but you don't post reply's that i send to you. I thought that you were supposed to be a mediator? All you do is send me what people send you and tell them to call the people on me? Where is the mediating? NOT ALL PEOPLE ARE BAD THAT GET COMPLAINTS!!! There are good people that have bad things happen to them out of their control. You say that there is not reason to have these beanies out this late? Have you ever been in a situation like i am in with my husband?? If you haven't then how do you know? I see in the comments that everyone is thanking you for your help? I just don't get it. I received my beanies from Janet Rout on 3/1/01 with the confirmation number listed that she had given me. I appreciate all the help from the CautionList. And I don't think I would have gotten this far had I not went ahead with my posting to the Caution List and to the IFCC. I am contacting the Caution List to let you know that I have received my beanies. I will also be sending  them to Peggy Gallagher for authentication. One just looks a little 'off.'  Could just be it was a poorly sewn bear but I see several things I don't like about it. I will be contacting the IFCC and tell them the status of this 5½ (five and a half) month complaint. Thank you for your help. And hopefully, others will be as fortunate as I have been in resolving such problems. Just hope it doesn't take them as long! Keep up the good work.

I received notification this morning from Peggy Gallagher Enterprises that the two beanies I finally received from Ms. Rout were authentic. While one looks like it's not in very good shape, I, at least, got mine. They are  only worth 1/3 of what I had to pay. Had I gotten them on time, I could have traded them for the things I really wanted-the buddies. But I am  NOT complaining. I feel fortunate to have received them at all. Thank  you for all your help and keep up the good work. I have also contacted the IFCC and let them know that the problem with Janet Rout has been resolved.  If anyone needs to contact me, please feel free to do so. I don't know if you are still handling Janet or not. It has been 6 months on April 4 20001 since I sent Janet my money of $156.74 for 1-Buckingham and 1-Nipponia. I think that is being very very patient!! My Question is ,what do I do now. I do not know the condition of her husband or what is going on. I know she has sent out some beanies from the Bad Trader List. She also has alot of time to respond to anything put on the board about her. Should I contact an official source about her? If you have any ideas I would appreciate it. I really hate to do it but am so very frustrated,hurt and angry. You listed my sister's user name on my complaint page, it was not a new account it was opened in 1999! Because of people emailing her bidders it has ruined her reputation on ebay. Some of the emails came from my email address because she watches my daughter here at my house. She can retrieve her emails on the internet from ATT mailbox or can have them forwarded to my email address when she is here all day. But when she returns the emails it has my email address. Because of these meddling people that don't know what they are talking about, it has caused problems with our relationship that was never there before. And why would I not sell with only 4 negatives out of over 320?. My account is closed on ebay right now until i can afford to pay the auction fees. Although I don't think I will ever sell beanies again. I am still getting caught up on the beanies and I pray for the day when this is over and everyone has what is due them.

I again thank-you for the wonderful people that have been patient and understanding through all of this. And I thank God for Cindy at CN, she has been and continues to be a God send and keeps me going when i have just about given up. She gives me inspiration and even kicks my butt when i need it.

Three weeks ago I won an eBay auction for 1 dozen Dearest bears - I had been warned by several people that this was Janet Rout, but by then the auction was over. I wrote and told Ms Rout that I either wanted the bears before I paid, or I would not pay at all because she is Janet Rout. All communications have come from her but she asserts that these are all her sister's auctions, her sister is not computer literate (that seems odd as one should know how to use a computer to actually get onto eBay!) and her sister lives 1/2 from her. Odd, then, that her sister has the exact same zip as Janet Rout! She sent a Reminder to Pay Your Seller, so rather than risk a Non-Paying Bidder Warning, I paid up. And guess what? The PayPal payment was accepted in the name of JANET ROUT. Yesterday she withdrew her Non Paying Bidder warning (even though I paid over a long while ago) and now refuses to answer any e-mails requesting when I will receive my bears as everyone else is selling them "in hand". I paid her $143.00 for the bears and shipping and I've heard nothing from her since I paid.

She has changed her eBay User ID from lauraann61 to JMR1959. Does JMR stand for Janet M Rout??

I won 2 bids from bidville.com fro janet Rout. The first one was 2/18/01 for Buckingham Buddy Item #1943672 for a pre-sell at $65.00, total cost with shipping $71.75. To be sent 4/30/01 or cost plus 10% or free shipping my choice. I then won a bid 2/19/01 for Sakura Buddy Item #1962826 for a pre-sell at $95.00 plus $6.75 shipping. To be shipped 4/15/01 or same as above. I e-mailed Janet and asked if my husband could pick up the buddies as we only live an hour away or, if not, did I have to pay double shipping costs. Janet told me she would rather not meet with my husband as her's was in a bad way and I only had to pay one shipping cost. Since then I have contacted her to ask when they were being shipped and her response was her dealer was balking and she was having surgery on her hands so would be slow getting back with me. I then contacted her and asked if I had been took or could I have my money back or the buddies. No response. I then contacted her with a request for the buddies or money again before I listed negative responses to Bidville.com. No response. I then contacted her with a request for money or buddies with a one week grace and then I would contact the fraud authorities. Now I am writting you. I sent a Washington Mutual Bank MO #863443736 for $167.00 on 2/24/01. The total owing her was $166.75. I would prefer to have the buddies but I would take my money back. Janet Rout was pre-selling Chinook, Buckingham and Nippon for $179.95 plus $7.75 shipping, a total of $187.70 on Beanie Nation. I contacted her by e-mail because the auction had already ended and she wrote back to say that she had alot more pre-sells, no problem. She told me to send half of the money now, which was Nov. 30, 2000. So I sent her $90.00. (A Check) She wrote me back to say that she had received it. Then on Feb. 27, 2001 I was told to send the balance of $97.70 (A Money Order), which I did, and that she would mail me my beanies. I never received my beanies and I keep writing to her and all I get is what is going on in her life and that she will be sending them soon. I told her at the beginning that I understood, but now I don't know because I haven't heard from Janet for awhile. I have been very patient and tried to work with her, but she is not responding anymore. I just don't know what to do. I payed over $200 dollars last September for the Britannia, Chinook, and Nipponia Beanies. I have been conversing with Mrs. Rout since. I have not recieved my shipment and I am really upset by the fact she is still selling. I can relate to Janet's plight because I lost my son in a car wreck in Aug. of last year. It is a terrible thing to have to go through, but now she is just making way too many excuses. Each time I write her she says she will ship them soon and I have been writing her since November. I feel like she has robbed me and there is little I can do about it. I have been told by her she has the beanies, but just can't get them shipped out because she is having so many medical problem, but I see she is shipping to others and still selling. Janet, it is time to get your life together. Get on with it, I really know it isn't easy, but the time has come to realize that there are things you need to do. Honoring your commitments is one!

I just wanted to let you know I never received my 12 Dearest Bears but, I did get my money back from Janet today. I received a cleared e-check in the amount of $144.25 in my PayPal account today. I sent her a thank you and want to thank you for all you have been doing for all the people that has been taken by her. I hope they all get something back from her also. Thanks again,  Burt

I sent Rout over 2000.00 for a Metaexchange deal for 24 Sakura beanies nearly a year ago and she NEVER delivered. She sent me a partial refund months ago but still owes me 1200.00. I have heard every excuse in the book from her but the fact remains if she couldnt ship the beanies in the first place she should have never taken the money. Her broken arm, husbands problems, kids problems,etcetc doesnt warrant her taking my money(and a slew of others) as a FREE LOAN!! Its time someone files a formal legal complaint with her state attorney. She is committing INTERNET FRAUD over and over again...TIME TO PAY UP JANET!!! WE ARE ALL TIRED OF YOUR GAMES!!

I have received an email from paypal saying that I have gotten a check for $108.75 from janet. I have to wait 4 days to see if it clears her account. I will let you know if there are problems with this. thanks

Just a note to let you know that Janet Rout finally paid me for the two buddies. She sent me a Sakura a few weeks ago and refunded my paypal account for the Buckingham which just cleared today. I hope she is refunding everyone involved and does not do this kind of thing again. Thanks for your help, Tammy

I received the beanies today and they were in mint shape. I just wish things wouldn't have had to get so ugly to get Janet to do wnat was needed. I think that if she would have been truthful from the beginning about being stiffed herself that things might have went a little better for her.

Rout, please have them do so immediately.I believe currently we stand at 17 remaining outstanding (one of which has received a partial refund, and we are awaiting the negotiation of said refund at this time). I have also located two additional 'outstandings', one old (as in-from last September, 2000) and one newer (from January 2001) of this year. As for the Delivery Conformation number, please do not be alarmed if takes several days to appear on the www.usps.com site-this occurs frequently.   If all three people above receive (and negotiate) the refunds/items sent to them, this would then bring the current list of as yet outstanding people down to 18. Again, I cannot state when the next shipping will occur, nor who will be the next to receive. I am also aware that most of you have been waiting since September of 2000. On September 13, 2000 I won a Collection Nation bid for one set of Ty beanies that included Nipponia, Buckingham and Chinook. One additional set of beanies was also subsequently purchased from her. I sent personal checks by her request for $414.84. The neabies were promised to be gauranteed to be shipped by 12/1-12/20 before Christmas. These were to be Christmas gifts to my children and nephews and Neices. On or about the middle of December, and afr the beanies did not arrive, I was informed by her that her husband had a bad accident and everything was delayed. I received e-mails from her apparent sister stating that Janet could not handle sending out the merchandise, and that she was going to handle it. Of course my children were greatly disappointed!
I, unfortunately, felt sorry for Ms Rout and waited for delivery. Last May I again contacted her and she promised to send them immediately and include an Issy bear as thanks for waiting. She said that she would send them by the end of June. Last fall, after not receiving the beanies and being patient, I once again contacted her with no reply. She now does not reply to my e-mails. I am now resorting to calling this women, and would be happy to supply anyone else in a similar situation with her information. I am also pursuing US postal and FBI fraudulent investigations. I will not stop until this trade is resolved.
