I purchased from auction on Jan. 4, 2001 1 ORIGINAL 4 Seasons Issy bear with card from showmebeans, Jay Brely through CN auction. This was a presell but seller had a 400+ FB and many presell FB posted. After I confirmed my buy for 1 Issy through CN, we worked out a deal for 5 more Original Issys to be purchased. I sent payment in full for all 6 Issy bears by CHECK. Checks have all cleared my bank. I then purchased a Buckingham Buddy from Jay. Jay emailed me that as a restitution to the late Issys, he would give me an extra Buck Buddy for being so patient and working with him.
When the Buck Buddy came in, Jay emailed me saying he was substituting 1 Buck Buddy, the free one with a Sakura Buddy and that they had been sent. He apologized again for the 6 Issys saying his brother had a major heart attack. He did promise the 6 Issys WOULD be in the mail that week (the week of 3/12/01. I have emailed Jay many many times since his last email and he does not answer them.
Total of my 3 checks are: $537.50 3 checks #21149 for 106.50 on 1/05/01 for deposit on 4 Issys, #2189 for 281.00 on 2/13/01 balance on the 4 Isys and 1 Buckingham and #2199 for 150.00 on 2/20/01 for 2 more Issys. There is $467.50 still due to me.
I am now in the process of contacting the proper authorities to get this
resolved. My checks were sent to

been disconnected, CN did a search for his phone number and it came up under

You helped me once in the past and I'm hoping you can help me once again. This isn't for a trade however, it's for an auction I won on CN. The auction was a pre sell for a NY Issy bear from the 4 Seasons hotel with it's card. The auction ended on January 4, 2001. The bear was due in 30 days. Seller had excellent feedback and has pretty much kept in contact after the close of the auction. The last email I received from the seller was on March 2 when he said he would ship out Issy the following week. I will forward 3 emails between the seller and myself. I would really appreciate any help or direction you might be able to give me. I paid him $106.50 which included shipping. Thanks in advance, April Dowling

Boy what a con guy this is. I won Auction #2035800 for 2 Issy's from hotel with cards for a total of $212.00. I sent him a check of 2/14/2001 for said amount. It was a presell and ude in 30 days which was March13. He has not answered my emails of which I sent about 8 and I got his telephone number from Collecting Nation and needless to say it is not a working number. Thats about it.Please let me know what we can do about this. I see he has been suspended and Collecting Nation cannot do anything about it. I filed a complaint with the Fraud site. I bid $100 on a pre-sale Issy to be delivered by Feb. 28 or refund guaranteed.
After that time, no merchandise or refund. I watched for "showmebeans" auctions
on SC, and he put up 12 Cassie in-hand, instabid for $100. I bid to get his
attention. He picked it off and offered me the Cassies in place of Issy.
I accepted because I suspected he may not deliver. The Cassies were promptly
delivered. I will not deal with him again. Others have contacted me with
their same problems with Issy (no delivery, no refund). That's about it.

Well, on February 10, 2001 I won a presale auction placed by Jay Brely on Collecting Nation for a Buckingham Buddy. I had my reserves about him, especially since he was offering up so many at one time! I was wondering how in the world he planning to come through with such a high number of a hard to find Buddy. But I went ahead an bid since he did offer a refund if he failed to come through and his feedback seemed pretty good.
Anyway, I won a bid for $69.54, and that same evening I received an e-mail from Jay telling me I had won and to please send the money plus $5.00 shipping and handling to him via money order only. He said he couldn't accept PayPal this time around. So on Monday, February 12, I sent him a postal money order for $74.54 and waited.
On March 12, I e-mailed him asking for an update on the Buckingham Buddy
since the 30 days had passed. He replied immediately telling me he expected
a shipment of Buckinghams from England on the following Saturday, March 17
and that he would get back to me then. So I waited. But then yesterday, the
26th, I received an international money order in the mail from him telling
me it was my refund for having failed to come through with the Buckingham
Buddy. There was no note enclosed. Just the money order and his return address

I have waited patiently for over two weeks for a response to my E-Mails to Jay. Nothing. I won Auction #2004161 on January 4th, 2001 for a Presell Issy/Card for $100.00 plus $6.50 Shipping. I sent a money order for $106.50 on 1/5/01. Jay did e-mail on 1/13/01 and said he had received money order and had left Postive Feedback for me(BeanieRoamer). Issy was to be here by 3/1/01. I sent numerous E-Mails and he always replied that it would be sent within the week. Then, on February 23, 2001 I won auction #2040295 for a presell Sakura Buddy at $124.00 plus $6.00 shipping from Jay. I sent a money order the same day for $130.00. He did E-Mail and stated he had received the money order and would have it within 30 days, plus my Issy would be sent within that week. When I didn't see Issy I e-mailed Jay and questioned him. He told me that he had heard from his Japan Contact and would be sending Sakura and Issy/Card together the next week. By mid-March I started contacting Jay via E-Mail and asking where they were. I could not get any response. He still will not contact me. I finally decided to leave Negative Feedback and realized several others have already done so.
This is really a bad situation, I had done business with Jay before and
never had a problem. I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, but now
I know I have just been ripped off for $236.50 and haven't been notified
by him of any effort to send a refund or my Beanie and Buddy. So,
basically this is where and what happened. Good luck in your Investigation.
I tried to telephone the number from his contact information this evening
but it was busy. Please keep me informed and tell me what would be
the best solution for myself in this matter. Thank You, Sincerely,

After I went to you for help. I had a refund in my mailbox. I hope you
can help some of the others that are more than a little upset with Jay. Wish
some one could do something with Breezeway. (Got stuck on that one as well.)

shipping it was107.50 He gave me a positive feedback when he received the
money order under phylis24 but he never anwsers my email and never sent the

My name is Cindy Hickey, aka, 1cindy, and I deal on cn nation, I have
a transaction with a bentleman known as Jay Brely, aka showmebeans, I sent
him $106.50 for an Issy bear back in January, I have no bear and no money,
I have e-mailed him more times then I can remember, he refuses to e-mail
me back, will not refund my money and has no apparent intention of giving
me my bear, he has done this to quite a few people on cn in the last couple

On Jan 7 myself and 5 others were high bidders on auction # 2007849 a
4 seasons hotel issy beanie for $100.00 each with promised delivery by Feb
28 or a full refund would be given,the date came and went I emailed him and
he said he would be staying at the hotel in the middle of Feb. I waited,
nothing, I found out from the hotel that he was not registered, I emailed
him again he told me he had the Issy's but was delayed in mailing because
of emergency 22 [the snow storm in N.Y.] then he was with his brother who
had a heart attack?, I had enough and wanted a complete refund, I tried phoning
him but his phone had been disconnected I had been scammed and defrauded
of my money, collectingnation said there wasn't much they could doexcept
suspend him, so it seems the only satisfaction I can get is by the feedback
and trader list which is what I have done, I have since been emailed by a
few other buyers that he has conned, that's about it If you need any
more info I will try to fill you in, as of now I am out $100.00 Stuart

On Collecting Nation.com, I bid on an auction (2012205), that seller Jay
Brely had listed for an (Exclusive) TY, Inc., ISSY (New York Four Seasons
Hotel) Beanie Baby Bear, complete with the original exclusive Card. This
auction was a "Pre-Sell"auction, with the Bear to be shipped within, or before,
30 days from the auction closing date, Jan.14, 2001. The auction ended with
my purchasing the Bear for $259.77, and shipping charges of $6.50, for a
total purchase price of $266.27, so I mailed a Travelers Express Money Order
to Mr. Brely, in the amount of $267.00. Upon opening the box, I found, instead,
that Mr. Brely had sent me the newly released "Retail" version of the TY,
Issy Beanie Baby, however, he included an authentic Card. I immediately emailed
Mr. Brely, complaining to him that I was knowledgeable of the differences
in the released versions of the Ty, Inc., ISSY Bears,

version Bear, along with an authentic Card, fraudulently trying to pass it
off as an exclusive TY (New York Four Seasons Hotel) Issy! It has now been
four days since my last email, and I have yet to receive a reply from Mr.

I have just returned from the Post Office and have received both the Buddy
and Beanie that I had purchased from Jay Brely. They are just as he promised,
just late. I am going to try to add to my Feedback and correct this. Thanks
for everything. Hope this makes some of the others that purchased feel better.
He is trying to do the right thing. Still no response to any of my E-Mails

I received an issy bear from Jay today. It is however not the original
one from the 4 Season Hotel. It is a retail issy with Milano on the tush
and of course there is no card as promised. What do you think I should

I got 1 Sakura Buddy and 3 of the new VERSION Issys, (NOT the ORIGINAL NY Issys I paid for) nor the total 6 due me. I JUST sent Jay this email.
"Jay, I am very disappointed in you. YOU PROMISED me the ORIGINAL Issys
from the 4 SEASONS NY. You send me the CHEAP retailers version in place of
what I paid for. BOY what a RIP OFF!!!!! Then you ONLY SENT 3 of them. YOU
have refused to answer my emails. I know you got my REGISTERED LETTER on
March 29th.I EXPECT YOU to honor what I paid for or I will turn it over as
fraud. YOU told me TRUST YOU, I did and look at what it got me.PLMK within

Goodmorning, i bought in jan.01, presale,4 original NY Four Seasons hotel
issys with cards, auction #2004161 off of jbrely@hotmail.com. I first was
getting excuses after excuses, then he said he would have them by the middle
to last of feb. I have now emailed him many times and he won't respond to
my emails now, now here is where you come in i put him on the bad traders
list and low and behold it just was not me but several people were scamed,
so i wrote to some of them and she said you helped her out. I would just
like my money back$410.00 or my 4 original beannies that i paid for. I would
love for you to help me with this person. Thanks so much for hearing me out.

I don't know how the rest are coming on this BUT I have heard nothing
nor seen my items. Filed mail fraud with the postal and nothing there. TODAY
I called the State Troopers in Maine and in New Hyde Park NY. They have all
my information and are working with me now. Anyone who has not had their
deals completed should call their LOCAL State Troopers and file a complaint.

I sent out the money order on March 6,2001 and he said he would be getting
the bears on Friday March 9th. I also ordered 3 Issy cards and haven't received
any of the items I have ordered.

I filed a complaint against this person on May 14,2001 for non delivery.
I received the order on June 1, 2001. It was very late but I did receive
it.
