This is the first time that I have had a problem with any trader and
it looks like this one has taken at least three people. In October, I responded
to a posting in TYs Guestbook that was posted by a lady who, so far, is only
known to me as JESSICA STERN and her email address is: firstlady4@aol.com.
I emailed her and arranged a trade between Jessica and myself as well as
for my mother (who lives 2 hours away and is not on-line) and Jessica. My
mother and I shipped our Beanies and Jessica received them (and I have her
emails to me backing up all these statements and dates) and notified me that
they had arrived and were fine and that was on October 24, 1998. After various,
"problems" on her end with mailing and things going to wrong addresses, etc.
here we are on Decemeber 5, 1998 and neither my mother nor myself have recieved
anything from her. She has yet to respond to my previous email which was
sent on Dec. 3rd requesting her to tell me exactly when and how she shipped
the packages. Also on December 3rd, I saw a posting on TYs Guestbook from
another trader who had arranged a trade with Jessica about the same time
and she also has not received anything. I am soon going to be turning this
over to the postal inspection service as well as any other agency I can in
order to either assure the return of what we sent her or for her to finally
send what she promised to or send us the cash value of our beanies that are
now in her possession. Any suggestions you might have would be greatly
appreciated. I also would like to know what needs to be done to get her on
the bad traders list. As I said earlier, my mother is not on-line,
but is in the same boat with me. I can have the other trader contact you,
as she is online.
After all was said and done, I was trading her one (1) each of the following
mint with mint tag Beanies: New Face Brown Teddy, Lizzy and Peanut. In return,
she was to send me one (1) each of the following mint with mint tag Beanies:
98 Holiday Teddy, Santa, Halo, Pumkin and Roam. My mother, Nancy, sent one
(1) each of the following MWMT Beanies: Magic, Hoot and Cubbie. My mother
was to receive one (1) each of the following MWMT Beanies: Halo, 98 Holiday
Teddy and Canyon. (In the beginning I offered her my NF Brown Teddy and Lizzy
for her 98 Holiday Teddy, Halo, Pumkin and Santa. She asked if I could include
another retired in my trade and I was even nice enough to send her a list
to choice one from. She picked Peanut. After much of this delay in her shipping
to me, I asked that she include an additional new release to both my and
my mothers packages and she agreed. I chose to have her add Roam and my mother
chose Canyon.)
The information on this trader is as follows:
TY Guestbook User ID: taxidriver
Email address: firstlady4@aol.com
Mailing address:
213 Haverford St.
North Brunswick, NJ 08902
My mother and I both sent our packages via the postal service and sent them Priority mail. I did not insure mine and I am 99% sure my mother did not insure hers either. (She is currently out of state, but will be back in Thursday.)
Again, anything else you need, please just ask. As I told you previously,
I have all the emails both she and I sent to one another. Anything you can
to do help is greatly appreciated. I will forward your message to Pam and
have her email you. You will probably hear from her soon as she seems to
check her email often.

I am the other person who is having problems with Jessica Stern (AKA firstlady04@aol.com) My story is similar to Susans.
I saw an ad JEssica had on the Ty guestbook. We arranged a trade. My Seaweed and Magic, both MWMT, for a 1998 Teddy. So I sent my beanies, and she received them. Then 3 days later, she tells me she sent hers. A week goes by, and nothing. So I email her, and she says that when she dropped off the packages at the post office, they were bundled together (she had 7 or 8 trades she was dropping off), and that the post office didn't separate them, so all the packages went to the same person. And this person was going to send them back to Jessica. Well, another week goes by, and I wrote Jessica again. Apparently the person never mailed them back to her (big surprise there). So she had a new batch of beanies to replace the one I was supposed to get, and would be sending them out. Another week goes by, and I get the excuse that she was out of town, too busy to mail them. And this has been going on like this since mid October.
I am with SUsan. I want this to be rectified, and if it can't, I want
to internet world to know who this woman is and to avoid
her!!!

To whom it may concern;
My Name is Barry Stern I am Jessica's father. I am writing you this note
to let you know that Jessica is a 12 year old and has nothing to do with
these trades. I am the one responsible for this. There were many setbacks
and mis directs with this last trade that I did and I am still trying to
get things straight. You are going to get what you wanted very soon. I know
you don"t believe this and I don't blame you but in a short time now you
will have the beanies you are suppose to. If you feel you need to talk to
me in person here is my number at home ** I can be reached there any time
between the hours of 5:30 pm and 10:00 pm.
Sincerely yours, Barry Stern
I also got an Email from Pam indicating that she received her Beanie today, but it had a bent tag. This past Wednesday I sent a certified letter to both Jessica and Barry Stern and gave them a deadline of December 24th to fulfill one of three options: 1) Send me the beanies we agreed upon in mint condition with mint tags; 2) Return my original Beanies, in Mint condition with mint tags; or 3) Send me either a money order or certified check in the amount of $150. (In the case of my mothers trade, which I arranged, he was to also fulfill one of these three options and her money order/certified check was to be in the amount of $105.) I have not received the "return receipt requested" yet to see who signed for it. He also did not know my letter was coming. Pam sent me an email indicating she called him this past week and he said hers was going in the mail and that he only had one person left on his list to fulfill a trade with. Apparently what he did was trade for the Beanies he promised us. Then the trade fell through and in turn, he could not fulfill his end of our trade arrangement. (Would have been nice for him to let us know and I have told him that.)
As far as I know, my mother has not received anything unless she got
it today. He sent me an email on 12/17 and stated that my Beanies were sent
out that day, with the exception of Roam. He also indicated that my mothers
would be shipped "in just a few more days" along with my Roam he owes me.
Thanks for the follow up! Susan
