I don’t know where to turn, so I hope you can answer to my questions. I made a trade agreement with JoAnn Ducharme from Canada who was on KNK in Oct. I sent MWMT Nipponia, Scotland and MC I for 3 MWMT Kanatas (Kanata was hot back then). She emailed me and notified me that three Kanatas were shipped on Oct. 18. I emailed her after two weeks since I didn’t receive them, but she didn’t reply. So I waited a little longer since Canadian postal service is slower. But beginning of Nov. when I tried to email her, the mail kept coming back. So I got very suspicious. I luckily got her home phone number. She said she was going to check with her husband and call me back. I waited another week, but no reply. So I called her again, and she agreed to send me three Kanatas. But when I got the package, the beanies were shipped without tag protectors. One has a creased tag. So I had to call her again, and explain the new problem. I told her that if she cannot complete the trade, I wanted her to send me three beanies that I sent. She agreed to do so. Now today, I got a letter from her husband saying they don’t have those three anymore. He doesn’t want me to call them. But they don’t have working email address. How can I communicate with them and clear up this mess. To me it is very unethical to turn over the beanies before the trade is completed. He is claiming that he sent twice. But I didn’t get the first package. I have over 150 positive, no negative feedback on KNK and CN combined. She only has 8 positive. They don’t have working email address. Don’t you think this is very suspicious? Now Kanata is worthless. I want to put this behind but I also do the right thing to protect fellow traders from any scammers. Please let me know what I should do? Thank you very much for your help!    Keiko

I called her again after I emailed you. She agreed to send me one MWMT to replace the one with creased tag. So I am waiting to receive the package. Should I contact you again in one week? I rather have the beanies that I sent her back than getting another MWMT Kanata which is not worth much anymore. Here is the information

Feedback: KNK

I have a copy of the email from one trader who made a trade just before I did with JoAnn. Unfortunately I deleted the email, but kept the print out. This is what she said:

“I traded with her recently and when I tried to email her when her package had arrived (arrived 11-05-02) to me her email kept coming back. I have tried several times and it still comes back. I even posted on KNK once trying to get her to EMAIL ME. I decided there was not more I could do…I received my beanies and I know she received the ones I sent her. I was emailing her so she would post feedback for me once I’d received the beanies…….I will tell you that she mailed to me TWICE….the first package never arrived, which was mailed 10-08-02. Mine to her arrived 10-21-02…we were both mailing the same day. She mailed to me AGAIN 10-30-02 and I received it 11-05-02.”

Thanks for any help, Keiko

Thank you very much for your help. I have not received the replacement Kanata yet. Why am I not surprised? In his letter, Russell said he would be happy to exchange the damaged one, but he didn’t mention how or when he would so it. It’s been one month since he wrote the letter. And nothing happened. He is questioning my honesty by saying he sent 2 sets but I only got one set. Let me tell you he misspelled my name on the envelope. They are the ones with a history of resending beanie with Bonnie. They are the ones who mysteriously terminated their email address. They are the ones who don’t want to be contacted to fix the problem. If they don’t have anything to hide, why do they refuse to receive my calls. To any honest traders, feedback is very important. I value each feedback I received over the period of time. Like he said “A trade is a trade”, I want them to honor their promise to deliver 3 MWMT Kanatas. Here is the email address of Bonnie who sent me the following email. oliberathome@juno.com

The following is the exact copy of the letter Russell wrote to me. I wish I had a scanner.

I understand you are not satisfied with the trade. I am sorry your (this exactly what he wrote) not happy. But a TRADE is a TRADE. I will be happy to exchange the Beanie with a bent tag but that’s all I can & will do for you. Please stop phoning us, over this trade, just because your not happy for whatever reasons that trade must go thru as agreed.I have mailed you 2 sets of Kanata. I in October and 1 in Nobember. You said you received only 1? And I mailed them both to the same address? As I have turned over your beanies there’s no alternative but to say  A TRADE IS A TRADE.

Thanks    Russell Ducharme.

I will call them again and let them know exactly what you wrote to me. Thank you again.  Keiko

Cautionlist was unable to contact them as they had gotten a new email and the one above was no longer valid.
