On July 26, 1999 I was the high bidder on an Amazon.com auction for a
MWMT Libearty with "Beanine" tag. I received a very non-mint Libearty. After
numerous attempts (email & phone) Luke Konrath DBA LK Collectibles, he
agreed to send me the correct item once I returned the first Libearty (at
my expense). As of this date I do not have the item in question and Mr.Konrath
has failed to reply to any of my emails. I sent him a MO for $204.11 and
had to spend another $8.20 to send the first Libearty back to him.Since I
have posted feedback on him, I have received several emails from individuals
with the same or similar complaints which I can forward to you. I would just
like to have him added to your Caution or Bad Traders List. His full
name is Luke Konrath. Email(s):konrath@nconnect.net and

I am not sure who you are but I will gladly tell you what is going on.
When I recieved the beanie back I did not feel I could make nproctor@erils.com
happy in any way with a new beanie. So I SENT him a refund Check which he
CASHED. I have the cashed check in my hand. He then said that unless I gave
him a new beanie and then another beanie valued at $45! I didn't even have
that beanie in stock and told him that and he went crazy. So he has cashed
a refund check from me and I have proof. He has been slandering my name
ILLEGALLY, and I would imagine if you give me a bad trader name that would
be not fair. As for anyone else, they have not contacted me, if there is
a problem I always fix things, you can imagine with something like beanies
there is always problems.I will try and fax the cashed check to you tonight.
I only have a digital camera and use EFax.com but that should work. Also
the $8.20 to ship back to me was not the amount is costs it only costs $3.20
plus shipping is non-refundable but I did send him the $3.20 shipping costs
back. I will try and get that to you later.

The middle of July I won 3 of Luke's auctions. I was very excited about
one inparticular, Brown Bear NF. He was going to mail them all together.
I should have known right from the get go that something was wrong. I had
to e-mail him several day's after the auction to see what was going on and
where to mail my money order. I waited almost a month and e-mailed him again
asking where my shipment was. Well he said that he was very sorry that he
had been on vacation but cut it a week short because he had forgotten to
mail some of his orders and would have mine out in 3 day's. After another
2 weeks went by I e-mailed him again and was informed that 21 of his packages
had been lost!! But not to fear he would replace them. I e-mailed Luke several
times in the next 3 to 4 weeks and the funny thing was his story was different
every time. The packages lost dropped to 4. I think he had a hard time
remembering who he told what. Finally the latter part of Aug. he e-mailed
me back that my shipment had been sent. I did come a few day's later but
there was no Brown Bear. Needless to say I e-mailed him again and he said
that he was very sorry but when he was packing my box he noticed that BB
was not in very good condition so he didn't want to send him out. He said
that he would send me another one. That was about 3 weeks ago and I haven't
heard a work from him. I haven't left any negative feedback because I didn't
want to make him mad and not send my bear. I paid $57.00 for him. I had an
idea that I would like to run by you. Luke doesn't put a reserve on his auctions
so I wonder if a beanie doesn't go for what he wants he just doesn't send
it. I thought $57.00 was a reasonable price for BB. Is there any way you
can see if that is a pattern? I hope this all makes sense to you. If I can
do anything else please let me know. Marge

One compaint from Jully? Come on I don't know what to say. I have an
Ebay Feedback rating of 2003. I am an Ebay Power Seller. I have 300 sales
a week at a minimum. I am not sure what happens to me if you put me on the
bad traders list but I have well over 2000 happy people compared to 2 complaints.
I think any business would think that is successful. Not all transactions
go smoothly but if the person who won the Brown Teddy would of called me
it would all be straightened out. I had no idea I owed that person a Brown
Teddy from JULY!

Response from: nproctor@erols.com
He sent me a check for $100 "because that's all he could afford at the
time" And that was only after he told me on 4 different occassions that the
correct Libearty was or would be sent. And that's when I told him I wanted
a refund including expenses, $204.11. $200.56 for Libearty & 3.55 for
Priority, Confirmation. That's when he said he would make it good and offered
a Libearty with "Beanie" Tag and for me to pick something I considered adequate
"payment", if I had to go out and get a Libearty with "Beanine" tag. So I
picked the 98 Teddy ($45) and he now tells you he didn't have it in his
inventory, eventhough he had it listed. I chose 98 Teddy because on his listing
he had Libearty for $245 and since I paid just over $200 I thought it fair
to ask for the difference of the two. So, originally I was only looking to
get my original bid amount & shipping costs refunded when he sent the
check for $100 & said he would pay me the rest "ASAP". I have not had
any further contact with Luke because Amazon.com has told me if I email him
that I could be suspended from their board for harassing a user. So I have
had to begin legal action against him and once I get the info of the other
30-50 we plan on contacting Amazon.com,Ebay & the Better Business Bureau
in his area to see if any of them will do anything this time.I currently
have 7 people who have emailed me regarding their experience with Luke and
I advised them to contact you directly, so there will probably be more. And
a lady who was "taken" for $149.65 has compiled a list of 30-50 people who
have either contacted her or she has contacted and they also wish to voice
their concern. As I said Amazon.com must have thought he was in the wrong
or why would they send me a check? Check #0000001621 dated 9/23/99 Invoice
#058-5802245-7564751. They must have notified him because since the 23rd
he's posted messages on a German & a Japanese Trading Board that I was
a thief, etc. The webmasters checked and removed his message and posted an
apology on their boards. And most of the emails I got from his customers
said he threatened them also. I'll contact them again to get them to email
you. I REALLY thank you for all this help. Neither Ebay nor Amazon.com has
done anything to "curb" his practices, so you were the lucky one to end up
with this one. Sorry!

I am yet another buyer that had a terrible experience with Luke Konrath
on Amazon. I purchased several items (appx. $300) from him over a 2 week
period (while he had a good rating). It took 6 weeks and several
"semi-threatening" emails on my part to get my purchases. My first purchase
was for one item. I paid by check and received the item in a timely manner.
My next 3 purchases were via credit card (through his website, at his direction).
At the time I purchased these items, I also purchased other items on his
website, and completed the transactions as per his website directions. He
charged my credit card immediately for these items, and it was only after
22 emails and threats that I finally received my items. I then started receiving
email from others that had bad experiences with him. This man gives auctions
a bad name, and has certainly left a bad taste in my mouth. Thank you for
your attention to this matter. Lis Cummings

You are taking this person's word over mine.you are falsifying my name.
We don't know who you think you are but that is against the law and if I
lose ANY business I will hold you personally acountable. Now, I don't have
a fax machine but I expect you to give me your full name and address and
I will send you a copy of the $203.20 check that they cashed NOT $100. Then
I expect an apology from you and an apology listed on your site. I also expect
this person to be put on the bad trader list. I also sent ebay a copy of
the check and they have warned this person!! So send me your address!
October 6, 1999
Cautionlist never got the fax with proof of check that he said he sent and
was cashed. He said he would fax it to me on September 29 or I asked for
a scan. Then as above I sent him my address on September 29 so that he could
mail me copy of the cashed check and have never received it. Amazon.com made
good on the rest of the money that nproctor was owed by luke and I guess
that they will go after him for the money that they had to pay nproctor because
of the guarantee that they give for under $250 losses.

I don't have any specifics except my name and number and some events...
i'll answer any questioons you have aobut anything connected with this
situation.my name is jane bischoff, my ebay user name is janeybee.I won three
auctions from luke conrath back in early august. I won an auction for derby
the horse (with no star), for about $14.50, batty the tye-dye bat for $8
and happy the hippo for $14 plus 3.20 for postage. it was sent to him on
8-18-99. and I have never heard another word from him... do you think it
would make him act if I left him negative feedback? I notice he always responds
in writing to his negative feedback. let me know what you think.I sent him
a money order on 8-10 for about $39.70. no response, no beanies, no refund.
I waited aptiently. I emailed him and asked them about the auction and the
status of the beanies... no response, ( I could probably get the exact dates
if I neded to...) I emailed him again, and again, no answer... I accessed
the user information and called the number listed... I got an answering machine
and left a message. and I haven't hear a word fom him since.... if you ned
anything else, please do not hesitate to contact me... I WANT MY BEANIES!

I looked at your site and it seems that being on the BAD Traders list
won't hurt me because my customers don't visit this site. However, I want
to prove that I am right. Both Ebay and Amazon have BOTH warned this person
after I proved to them, so I will have to spend the time proving it to you
also. I will send a copy to you tomorow and then all I want is an apology.
Ebay has warned nelson proctor. I sell over 400 beanies a week. Do you think
that maybe there will be problems. Of course. If any of these people contact
me I fix ALL problems. Don't you think I would be out of business by now?
Now I ask you do you have any proof from any of these people that I am scamming
them? No you don't. I will prove that I sent this person a refund check.
Then I want an apology and I want THEIR name on your bad trader list. OK.
Thanks Luke

LK Collectables
Luke Konrath.
I was wondering what I should do, for about 2 months I have been having a
problem recieving beanies I won in an auction or several auctions He sent
me email to either go to his web page and fill out order form with auction
numbers and payment info or fax it to him, after filling out the order page
several times and him still saying he was not getting it, I faxed my info
to him he then said it must not have gone through so we did it once again
and from then I have not heard for him, we are awaiting our billing statement
to see if he charged our cards. He was a 5 star rating but when I went to
post feedback on him I noticed alot of problems he has had similar it has
taken people months after he charges their cards to get the beanies and he
refuses to return messages. He has also changed ihis email address again
His web site is www.lkcollectables.com his last known email address is

Cautionlist: Please note in the complaint above that Luke has told her to
fax him information about their deal. Please note that in other responses
from Luke above he first stated he would fax me copy of cancelled check and
then told me he did not have a fax and then told me he would mail me copy
of the cashed check. So many lies to get caught up in. He said he was mailing
the cancelled check on September 29--still nothing from him.

Complaint filed by: purple_cia@yahoo.com
Quite simply, my experience with him is that he poorly handled what SHOULD
have been a smooth transaction. I bid on a Beanie Baby named Stripes ( a
tiger), and he sent me a Beanie Baby named Freckles (a leopard). When I emailed
him to tell him he had sent the wrong one, he insisted that I had called
the Beanie "Freckles" in our correspondance (I kept all the emails and NEVER
referred to it as Freckles -- even if I had, the seller has a copy of which
items are won by customers and he should have checked that list before sending
it out to me!). Quite simply, he messed up. He offered to replace the incorrect
Beanie with the correct one, but said I'd be responsible for shipping on
the items. Instead, I offered to purchase the correct Beanie from him at
the same price for which I won it if he would waive the shipping charges
on that item since the incident was not my fault -- rather generous on my
part, I thought, since the mistake was not mine! That would have given him
an additional sale just so I could have what I was supposed to have received
from him in the first place. After that, he never replied to my email
correspondance. At that point, I started checking out his Amazon.com auction
feedback comments and found that, around the time I started bidding on his
items, he started doing many similar things to many different would-be
customers/winners of his auctions. I contacted several and encouraged them
to write to sentinal@amazon.com to see if we might be able to do something
about his business ethics online so other people were not going through what
we did with him. The people with whom I have had contact were overcharged
for the products, never received things after he told them they had shipped,
received incorrect products, received no follow-ups to email/faxes about
their won auctions -- the list goes on and on. Sure, he has lots of positive
feedback, but the negative comments almost always reflect the same sorts
of problems. And MANY of the positive comments are from "repeat buyers."
I hope that you can keep him from continuing his unprofessional business
practices online -- or at least to attach such a reputation to his name that
people will think twice before they buy from him. Welcome to the wonderful
world of Luke Konrath! *L*Thanks very much for everything you guys have done
to stop him. Those of us who are out here to do this for fun will rest more
easily knowing that he isn't out there to give us the run-around
anymore.Sincerely, Chrissie Anderson

Complaint filed by: "iguanamom" on eBay
Oh ho ho ho ha ha ho ha ......I'm so sorry - I would have responded right
away, but I've been laughing too hard to even be able to reach my keyboard!!!!
"Luke says he is a good trader" Oh hoho ha ha....!This is Wendy, "iguanamom"
on eBay. I have a 100+ rating....all positive. I have never had an unresolved
problem of any sort - except of course with a thief named Luke Konrath. Yes,
I am outright calling him a thief, and would be more than happy to sign any
kind of affidavit to that effect. My involvement with him is outlined in
my last email to him, which I will forward to you immediately following this
email. The truth is I am sick and tired of dealing with Luke Konrath stuff.
I have repeated my story so many times, and spoken to so many people.....I
feel this 'man' has already cost me more than he is worth in time and grief.
(And why the hell won't eBay do anything about it????? I have given them
all the details, and so have a lot of other people. As Luke said to someone..."Do
you really think eBay is going to listen to you? I pay them over two thousand
a month in fees......") I won three auctions of his last April. Through numerous
emails back and forth with Luke I ordered 2 additional items. I was very
excited as it was my first purchase of an 'expensive' item. Two of the auctions
I had won were for special beanies for my daughter's 11th Birthday in July.
He knew that. On May the 4th 1999 he cashed my money order for $149.65.
I have a copy of it. He has not responded to any of my emails since. It's
not even the money.......it's my daughter!! I still keep on politely requesting
her beanies. In my last message to him, I said if he once again did not respond
I would have to pursue other alternatives. My little girl even called him
once. He didn't even have the decency to respond to her. Once I realized,
by very carefully going through his feedback, that this is the way he operates
with low feedback # people, I found a great number of eBayers whom he has
cheated. Worse yet, many of them directed me to others who were not listed
in his feedback! They would not post negative feedback, feeling they could
not afford to have a negative placed on them when they were new to eBay.
What has also surprised me was how many people were afraid of him. I was
planning a group complaint, and many people refused to join - and advised
me to be careful. Some people still have copies of the threats he sent them
via email. Unfortunately I have also had a lot of computer reformatting to
do (Can you say "husband"?) and lost all my information THREE times. I do
have hard copies here and there, but not the time nor energy to follow through.
Perhaps that info. would be better going to you - but I would much rather
see it used in a lawsuit. Why can this man operate with impunity???? Literally
hundreds of people know he's a crook!!! I run a business 12 hours a day;
have a family; 6 pets; help run a Women's Shelter; and do beanies - therefore
my time is very limited. I will, however, go to the ends of the earth to
get this guy and all three of his user id's off of eBay permanently. After
I heard from a really kind disabled lady on how he cheated her....that really
did me in!! I am willing to help in any way I can. Please feel free to use
my name and/or quotes from this email any time you want, for any reason you
see fit. I have nothing to hide, and we all have a lot to gain. Please keep
me informed, if you are able. Wendy Here
is the email I sent to him: Wendy

Subject: TRYING AGAIN!
Hi Luke,
This is Wendy from Canada again. The one who's money order from May 4th/99
you have cashed......but not sent the beanies. In all honesty, I can see
how this might have been overlooked in the first place. I won three of your
auctions, and after several friendly emails between us I also added to my
order. Perhaps when you received my payment, it was difficult to figure it
out. I had inadvertently transposed the last 2 digits of one of the auction
numbers. You probably put the whole thing aside to be resolved when I called.
I am not sure what has transpired since. I do know that I have contacted
you several times.....but not very often, perhaps once a month, as it is
not my intention to harass. You have never responded to me. The one point
I will say I am upset about is that 2 of these beanies were for my daughter's
birthday, and you were aware of that. I do find it disappointing that you
did not respond to my messages when her birthday was drawing nearer, and
I was getting panicky. That HAS hurt my feelings. Money can be replaced,
beanies can be replaced, - my little daughter's birthday cannot. This time
I have written a longer message to you, in the hopes it will not be as easy
to set aside. I do understand that you are under the impression that eBay
rules state that you must contact a person by phone before posting negative
feedback or initiating legal action. The rules do not state this as a fact
- it is what they "suggest". Just for the record I contacted eBay and had
this clarified. Their position is that in cases of misunderstandings, it
is sometimes easier to resolve a situation by talking to the other party
directly. That position does not apply to sellers who choose not to reply.
Nor do I feel it is appropriate for purchasers who have low feedback ratings
to have to go to these lengths to receive their paid-for merchandise. This
leads me to make a formal request of you to please respond to this message.
I am also officially giving you fourteen days notice to send me my items
AS DESCRIBED IN THE AUCTIONS AND OUR CORRESPONDENCE........collector quality,
and mint with mint tags; AFTER which time I will take whatever further action
necessary to receive my merchandise. Four and one half months is, I feel,
ample time for you as a seller to amend your records to have rectified this
situation. The items paid for are as follows:
AUCTION #96931534 - Goldie
AUCTION #96458577 - Bubbles
AUCTION #96456162 - Baldy
NON-AUCTION - Legs & Cubbie.
Thank you for your attention to this matter, and if you need any further
clarification please don'thesitate to contact me.Sincerely,Wendy
('iguanamom' on eBay).
It is my belief that he is also running off of Yahoo!, as one eBayer he
cheated said they ran into him there too. The way he operates is - if you've
got low feedback, you might get no product. If medium feedback - dirty or
damaged product. High feedback - you get proper/good service. If you post
a neutral feedback , you may get your stuff. However, once he has targeted
you to cheat he will not respond to emails. If you post negative - he threatens
you and gets very intimidating. I have other suspicions too, because I watch
his auctions. Way too many are for Libearty, Lefty, Righty, Coral, etc. Can
they all be real???? I've seen him auction about 100 of them. Also, the stealing
he does is for relatively small amounts, and he has like two pages of positive
feedback, and then a really bad negative......then pages of positive, etc.
It is very well planned out. I could not tell you how many stories I've heard!!!
Oh, and his names on eBay are Jordan101; Konrath; and walleye@ndirect.net.
The last one is only from my memory, so may not be exactly correct. You'll
see by looking at the auctions. Also sometimes the beanies come from different
addresses I've heard. Also I wrote down another email address that I believe
is Luke's, although he says it is his brother Jake's - who just happens to
be living with him & just happens to sell beanies also: walleye@nconnect.net
Thanks again,

I bid on a lefty and won from this person. After several days of not
hearing from him I e-mailed for his address. I was e-mailed and sent payment
next day. 2 weeks later I had not heard anything from him. After several
e-mails I was contacted and said they would check into it. Another week went
by and I got an e-mail stating I had won this auction and to send payment.
After a few more e-mails I was assured I would be taken care of. The following
week I received my check back stating lefty had a bad tag and they did not
want to send it. After checking their ongoing auctions on e-bay and amazon
I found 2 more auctions for lefty. It had been so long that when I tried
to leave negative feedback time had expired. I would never deal with them
again. I think they have so many auctions going on they can not keep track.
Thanks for letting me vent. Cathy

I did have a transaction with Luke Konrath. It started out bad, But he
did rectify the situation. I can say he is rather slow at responding to e-mails
and doesn't seem to bother with certain situations properly. I guess as far
as the bad traders list. I would leave that up to the people who actually
were "mis lead" with his dealings. Bye

I was less than pleased with my transaction with Luke Konrath to say
the least. I won a beanie baby on auction from him and paid by credit card
the day after the auction closed. It took 4 working days to get confirmation
of my payment and 4 or 5 days mare before I got an e-mail saying my package
had shipped. 5 days after the e-mail saying my beanie had shipped I got a
refund in the mail that was postmarked 2 days after the e-mail that said
my item had shipped. He never contacted me to tell me that he was giving
me a refund instead, just a note with the check saying the tag was bent and
he didn't want to ship a beanie that was not mint. The beanie was a gift
for my wife's birthday and he left me scrambling for a gift with only 4 days
to find one and 3 of those days I was out of town on business. Pretty sloppy
if you ask me. If I conducted my business this way I would be out of business
very quickly. Hope this helps you to warn others about his sloppy business
practices. Oh yeah, once I posted negative feedback he offered to ship
me the item I had won. needless to say I did not try to do business with
him a second time. I think he was unhappy that I got the item at such a low
price and decided he could make a better profit elsewhere. Thanks for your
interest and I would love to know of another site where I could check trading
records. Please let me know if your site is open to the public Thanx Jeff

I am not going to say to much...I had won 2 auctions from him on amazon...I
paid with credit card...He says he sent the items 3 times...I only received
the package once...he told me I was taking advantage of him and I ripped
him off for the $150+ because he had already sent the order to me...I finally
did get the beanies...and they were okay...it just took me almost a month
and many e-mails to amazon and luke...I did research at the time and he was
living with his brother and then was in the middle of moving...he said he
had several recent packages "lost" in the mail...I don't deal with him andy
more...I just urge anyone who asks to proceed with caution...he has made
several people happy, but on the other hand...his business was growing fast
and he might have just had problems keeping up...he never left feedback...i
don't know if he ever does...those who do have problems with him, he seemed
to handle a little on the rude side...there are two sides to every story
and I am sure he has one...Thanks for your time...just proceed with
caution....Thanks, Rachelle

The first time I bought an item of his on the auction, I waited a week
and a half for him to email me with a total and address. In the meantime
I notified the auction universe and gave him a bad rating. I felt at this
time that he had backed out of the sale. When I finally heard from him, he
gave me a tongue lashing about giving him a bad rating and wanted me to change
it. I told him I would try. I did manage to get it changed to a 3, but I
was not going to give him a 5. I was really worried about sending him the
check and not receiving the beanie baby. So I down right lied and told him,
when I emailed him that the check was on the way, that auction universe had
said to let them know when I received the BB and that would put him back
in their good graces. I did receive the BB, but also receive 2 more emails
from him, letting me know that I had given him a bad name with the rating
I gave him. I WOULD DEFINITELY NEVER EVER BUY FROM HIM AGAIN AND NEVER EVER
RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE. Do what you want to do but watch him carefully,
I do not trust him, this is another reason when I was having all this trouble,
I looked up other people that were bidding on his items and emailed them

I "won" Sting the Ray from Luke for $77.00. Amazon.com directions say
that he should have contacted me within 1 (?) week. (I can't remember now.)
The week went by and then I went on vacation for 1 1/2 weeks. No email was
on my server when I returned. I was extremely busy and kind of forgot. When
I remembered, it was about 1 1/2 months from the date I had won it. Still,
no contact made by Luke. I got the feeling that Sting the Ray had been auctioned
off for less than he felt he should get, so he just ignored the sale. To
make matters worse, it is for my nephew who is dying from leukemia. And I
- being the trusting soul that I am - told my nephew that I had won it for
him. We're both still waiting.Thank you for your concern. Lisa

When I made my first purchase with Konrath I was new to AMAZON auctions
and he was maybe my 5th purchase about two months ago. I made the mistake
of telling him so. Since then, I have had a perfect 69+ 5 star with Amazon
and more of the same at eBay--all positive. I am also a seller/trader at
both places myself. All I can figure is Konrath was angry at me because I
had purchase at least 20 different beanies at lower prices than his extensive
price lists he sent me every time I confirmed. He was also angry when I told
him not to send me those long lists because I copy everything for my records
and didn't want to keep printing his price lists. Now he recently contacted
me after Amazon became involved with my complaint. It has been more than
two weeks since Amazon told him to cooperate with me. He is under serious
investigation that they cannot say anything more about. They say that I might
be able to legally sue him besides file a complaint with them. They told
me that they have excluded him from their community yet I still see his ads
running from time to time--very low starting prices--hardly anyone bids on
them anymore. I told him I could sue. I heard from him again pretending to
not know who I was or what I was talking about again for about the third
time. I wanted Amazon to wipe every trace of him from my account so he can't
respond to my feedbacks. I think he has other accounts and gives himself
false feedbacks by winning his own auctions. He lists every beanie imaginable
and never has an endless supply of the hard to find ones. Maybe he does spam
or gives my name out to porno spam too.I just wrote yesterday about sending
the products to me first and then I would pay him for the 20 beanies he owes
me. Feedback on his Amazon account stated that he was sending out fakes and
I don't trust him because of the hard time he gave me. Again, I am hearing
nothing and it's been over 24 hours. I had given my charge card number to
him and it didn't work through his system and never was put on my charge
account. He claimed it was a new system and they were getting the bugs out
of it. Now he had my charge number and that really makes me nervous! I'm
tired of seeing his name on my feedback needed accounts with him. I'm very
concerned about the damage he will do to me if he decided to give negative
feedback. This is the address that he sent to me. "Please make check

I won 2 of his auctions on Amazon. They closed on 9/21/1999 and 9/24/1999.
I have sent email to send payment, but never got any response. These were
both won on low prices ($1.00 and $2.26). You would think that most people
would understand that an auction means that you could lose if you don't have
a reserve price. I guess this guy just puts his auctions up and if you don't
win at his winning price then you don't get the winning auction. I would
recommend you looking at the feedback on Amazon before buying from this
guy.

My dealing with him was that I won 2 auctions and he did not want to
send the beanies after he recieved my payment, claiming he did send and that
he had proof of delivery but the date he gave me was for a Sunday (no mail
on sundays). He did finally send me 2 beanies but one of them was not the
one I paid for (sent strut instead of doodle). He was very nasty with his
emails to me too. So I ended up losing in the deal. Donald Wright

The guy's a rat. He double deals you, runs an illegal operation using
a university computer and a P.O. Box. He got me ob E-Bay. I complained to
them and they said they were not the police. Someone who cares so little
about fraud on their service doesn't get me business. I haven't hit E-Bay
in 6 months. He also has several aliases. A lady that e-mailed me had tons
of stuff on him and was dying to see some justice. If I can fin her e-mail
address, I'll get back to you. He lies like a snake, and he had the nerve
to threaten me with bad ratings if I told on him!

I am glad that you are going to do something about bad traders. We bidded
on a beanie and never recieved it and then when we emailed him about it he
kept lying to us about it being sent. After about a month of ths run around
we left negative feedback for him he and then he turned around and left us
negative feedback saying we were liars and we didn't follow the ebays rules
which we did. As we had hard copy proof. We later then we got email from
someone who said she had the same problem as we did. And also alerted us
that he was using more than one users name. ANd that he had himself or a
friend bid against you to bring the price up and he left his own feedback
for himself. Thanks plammy

Several months ago, I had ordered a few beanie babies from him. Two or
three of the ones I received were not in mint condition as advertised. Tags
were bent or had watermarks. After several e-mails, we agreed that Iwould
ship them back and he would send replacements, which he did. Though this
situation was corrected, I would not buy from him again.

and weeks went by and I never received my beanie. Him and I had some pretty
bad emails going back and forth. Mostly him threatening me about turning
me into ebay and so forth. So I finally got tired of it and told him I would
contact the better business beaurea on him and then he theatened to sue me.
And I told him before he makes threats on line he better make sure he knows
what business the person is in he is threatening. A week later I received
my beanie! Will never buy from him again! Deb

I want to tell you about the horrible time I had with Luke. I just
finished reading some of the complaints and the pattern is so obvious. The
question I have is "how does he pick the people to mistreat & threaten?"
I too won an auction from him on Ebay. I was so excited, it was my first
auction win. It was for Derby w/ no star. I couldn't wait for him to email
me so I emailed him to find out where to send my money order. Typical pattern
followed- no response- this exercise in futility continued for over a month.
I even sent a message thru Ebay's address system. I did not call him. At
this point I left negative feedback. Within a day I had received negative
feedback & threatening emails from him. He threaten all kinds of legal
action, used the $2000 a month Ebay line and stated that he had emailed me
but my email did not work. I told him he was stupid & that there was
a paper trail for all my actions, including the fact that my email was working
thru the whole time period in question. I was not going to be threatened
by him. I pursued his trail & emailed other dissatified buyer's. I also
recognized one of his email accounts was from a University ISP. I emailed
them asking if it was legal to run a for profit business using the the school's
equipment. They responded & stated it was against school policy. It could
actually be illegal since the school is a state university, and therefore
the taxpayers from Wisconsin are paying to run his business. When all was
said and done, he changed his negative feedback to positive but did not admit
any wrong doing. He asked me to change the feedback I left for him, which
I have not done. He uses several names & email addresses. His brother
is also working with him. One of the names I know about is "jordan101." I
would warn anyone to stay away from him & and anybody who has an address
in Wisconsin. Thank you, Judi Rich

I bid on and won a Coral the Fish Retired, ebay #67703926, and paid for
i with postal money order #69840050073, dated 2/24/99. I received my beanie
on 13 March 99. He contacted ebay and had me placed on a "deadbeat bidders"
list. He tried to get a credit for the auction telling ebay that I did not
complete the transaction. After several communications with ebay I had to
place a tracer on the money order. I did this on 3/25/99. On April 10, 1999
I emailed Luke and told him that I had put a tracer on the money order and
a "stop payment" would be put on it. I got a copy of the money order from
the post office and it had been cashed on 3/15/99. Now, I received the warning
from ebay on March 19,1999 only 4 days AFTER he cashed the money order. I
was never given a chance by ebay to prove that I had completed the transaction.
They dropped the charge and cleared my file. Luke Konrath said that he never
used his college address to conduct business. I have my copy of the money
order plus the copy that the post office sent me and his email to me. They
clearly show that I sent the money order to:
Luke Konrath
Knilan's Hall Room 205
411 N. Prairie St.
Whitewater, WI 53190-2702
This is the address that Luke gave me to mail the money order. An email from
the Webmaster at UW-Whitewater said that "running a 'for profit business'
will be violating the campus electronic usage policy." I had to threaten
him with mail fraud just to get him to send me the beanie. To this day I
think that I received a fake beanie. I keep a watch on his auctions and was
really surprised to see that on 8/11/99 that he had 8 Libearty, 5 Garcia,
5 Grunt, 4 Chops and I don't believe that I have seen one person have so
many "hard to find" beanies. Even the next day there were several more Libearty
added to his auction. It appears to me that he keeps listing the same beanie
over and over. Whoever bids the highest gets good service and the beanie.
He then collects from all bidders. Some get not mint beanies or no beanie
at all. This is very evident by reading his feedbacks. I am the one that
he told that "I give ebay over $2,000.00 a month and who do you think they
will believe?" Ebay has failed to reply to any of my emails until I put a
message on the suggestion box. Their reply was that they had "warned" him
not to ever do it again. I asked them if they had read his feedback to see
if their "warning" had done any good. Again no reply. Luke has gone by or
goes by several names. These are the ones that I know about:
Konrath

I am sure that there are probably many more. I have told him that I will
continue to watch his auctions and warn people of the way he does business.I
will continue to do this. I think that he has broken and will continue to
break many laws. This person needs to be held accountable for his actions
and must be made to make restitution to all of the people he scammed. I hope
that this hasn't been too long. I could go on forever, but I have tried not
to dwell on it. I have better things to do than to lose part of my life with
the likeness of this lowlife. However, I would be willing to send you any
hard copies I have dealing with this matter. Thank you for taking the time
to handle this matter.
October 13, 1999 Take a look at the bidder, donsscooter, on ebay. He started
bidding in January when Konrath changed his ID. If you look at the bids of
this person. He has bid on over 215 auctions and 17 feedbacks. He bids on
Konraths but never wins. If you review the time of the bids, there is only
a minute between his bid times,on multiple items. If Konrath bids on his own,
can he go down the list and bid faster than the average person can? I can't
do it. Maybe you can do some further checking. By the way, I attempted to
locate Luke Konrath in the white pages under his name. No luck. I did find
a Mark Konrath and a Sue Konrath in Hartford, WI with the same phone number
as Luke. No Konraths are listed in Whitewater. Luke now has the address of
Oconomowoe, WI. We have been unable to locate him with his email address.I
will look some more at the bidders on Luke's auctions. He received another
Negative on ebay (4 this week.).
October 12, 1999 Cautionlist emailed amazon.com and ebay and sent them
copy of complaints that I had at that time. Got reply from ebay that they
would look into the matter and this is answer that I got from amazon.com:

In December 1998, I won 2 auctions, one for spooky the ghost and one for
snowball, After 16 days of my money order being cashed and beanies not sent,
we tried contacting Luke several times and he would not respond, when we
started leaving negative comments then he became interested but not before
he threatened me with his uncle who supposingly is a lawyer,he also told
us that because we waited 3 weeks to contact him that he had no records anymore.
I even had to pay to get a copy of the money order that he signed and cashed.
I left negative feedback every day starting Christmas eve and Luke finally
had ebay kick me off of ebay. I sent a complaint to ebays main offices and
the postal fraud division. he kept telling me that he was gonna tell ebay
on me leaving him negative feedback and that ebay would take care of me and
they did i got thrown off for 2 or 3 weeks, till i finally pleaded my case,
but still luke could stay on ebay and sell. Then he finally sent me my money
back. With all the money ebay gets from him I think ebay should be liable
also after all they are getting some of our money also. Ebay has deaf ears
when we bidders have a problem and then they continue to let him sell. Totally
unfair. From looking at his auctions it seems as though he might be double
selling, where he has 2 of the same items and only honors one of the auctions
that has the higher bid. I think he should never be allowed to sell anywhere
or anything. (please check my rating on ebay 103 positives no neutral or
negatives. Why must good buyers and sellers have to put up with people like
Luke. Newportal - Albert Pontius

I can't believe that my husband and I are aren't the only ones that got
jerked around by Luke! I think it was back in August that we had one
our first beanie from Konrath...it was actually our first time on ebay. We
wound up winning 3 different beanies and Luke responded right away
telling us where to send the $$$$. The following day our money order
was in the mail as promised. Five days went by and we sent him an email making
sure that he did get our money order and that the beanies were on their way.
Well about 6 days went by and we didn't hear anything from him. I found out
that when he originally sent us a confirmation letter when he had informed
us that we won his auction he used 2 different email addresses....walleye
and konrath....so my husband I starting sending emails to both addresses.
A couple of days later we received an email from walleye and said that he
didn't know why we were sending him emails because he was Luke's BROTHER
and he had nothing do with it! he also said that Luke was on vacation and
that he would get in touch with him. About 2 days later Luke sent us an email
stating that he had to go on vacation early or something and will send them
when he gets back...which would have been about 2 days later. Well about
2 weeks after that email and after many threatening emails on our behalf
we finally got our beanies and he didn't even send us an email checking to
see if we had received them or not!!! Luke says in his defense that he deals
with 100's of transactions a week and what we are saying is rare. Well let
me tell you something Luke...when things go wrong it's how YOU take care
of it that is important. I have read other peoples stories and along with
my experience I would never do business with you again...if you can't stand
the heat get out of the kitchen and stop auctioning off sooo many beanies
a week if you are having such a problem!!

THIS IS MY STORY: ON 5-1-99 I WON 3 OF LUKES AUCTIONS ON EBAY. I SENT M.O.
OUT ON 5-3-99 AND LUKE CASHED IT ON 5-10-99. I HAVE A COPY OF IT. I WAITED
AND NEVER GOT MY STUFF. SO I MAILED HIM SEVERAL TIMES WITH NO RESPONSE. SO
I EFT FEEDBACK ON EBAY. HE THEN RESPONED AS YOU CAN READ THAT HE DIDN'T KNOW
WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT. SO I REMINDED HIM AND STILL MORE BULLSH-T. SO I
REMINDED HIM THAT HE QUALIFIED FOR MAIL FRAUD. SUDDENLY HE REMEMBERED ME
AND MY PACKAGE WAS DAMAGED IN MAIL AND SENT BACK. WELL THE PART DAMAGED WAS
MY ADDRESS AND HE WAS WAITING ON ME TO MAIL HIM WITH ADDRESS. SO I NEVER
GOT MY STUFF, BUT HE DID SEND A REFUND. I STILL FEEL CHEATED AND KONNED.I
WANTED THE GOODS NOT M MONEY. I DON'T KNOW IF THIS HELPS, BUT I HOPESO. I
STILL HAVE HIS EMAILS IF YOU WANT TO READ THEM. I ALSO CONTACTEDE EBAY. VERY
VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THEM. THEY DIDN'T AS MUCH AS ASK THE MAN ABOUT IT.
SO THANK YOU FOR BEING INVOLVED. TELL YOUR SOURCE OF MY NAME I SAID THANKS.

I did also have a run-in with Luke Konrath back in June on E-bay.I can't
say too much, as this past week, he promised to make things right. What happened
was,..I won an auction for a 'peanut' beanie for around $17.50, then he mentioned
he had a listing of all the other beanies he had for sale.. I picked several
and sent him a total of around $450. All the beanies I received, about 2
weeks later were fine except one...a 'Kiwi' I got for $100.I didn't have
another to compare with at the time, but I found out about a month later
that it had a fake hang tag. Several things wrong with it including all the
copyright "C"'s were not circled as they usually are.I brought this and other
errors of the hang tag, including very good digital pictures of a 'good'
tag from Mary Beth's magazine, and his tag side by side..... to his attention
and he said "NONE of his beanies were ever counterfeit". "And that I watied
too long and he couldn't do anything about it". So I kinda resigned that
there isn't much I can do after so a long a period...but, I was new to
collecting, so I didn't know at the time.I did have it checked out and verified
with 4 other dealers and they all agreed that the hang tag was a fake. So
a friend of mine, and dealer, wrote to him for me a couple months later (last
part of Sept.) and said she would report him if she didn't take it back and
send another good one or give my $$ back.So I wrote him back and he said
he would send me another one or a refund..my choice...so that is where it
is at now.....I sent it (Kiwi) back last weekend and am waiting to see how
fast he sends me $ or another good Kiwi. (Oct.12, 1999) Randy (Randall822)

On October 3, 1999 I was the high bidder on an auction offered by e-bay
and the seller was Luke Konrath. It took 4 days and many emails on my part
to get this person to respond to me. I was told how to send the payment by
using my credit card on his website, so I did. As of today Oct. 22, 1999
and many e-mails later on my part again, I have no Manny Beanie in my hands
but my credit card was charged. Now that Konrath has received payment I cannot
get a reply at all. When I gave him negative feedback on e-bay he responded
by email one time telling me "how dare I give him negative feedback" and
that it was all my fault that I didn't fill out the order right when I payed
by credit card. I have a copy of the order and it is all there. I sent him
a copy of my receipt that his internet site gave me to prove that I did
everything right and as of today Oct. 22nd I have received no response.

Like so many other people I was taken advantage of by Luke. He sold me
7 older beanies and forgot to send 3 of them to me. These were Flash, Splash,
and Brown face teddy. When I emailed him about the mistake he was rude and
nasty to me. He left me bad feedback on Ebay and slandered my good reputation.
I found out he is a college kid and that he had done this to several people,
but Ebay was still letting him sell items! I hope this will help you, he
took me for over $200.00!!

I too am a victim of Konrath. Fortunately I had someone give me wise advice
about what to do about getting my beanies. I ordered over $100 of beanies
from Konrath on two separate auction sites in Sept.'99. I got all of them
except two rabbits, which I immediately wrote and told him about, very politely,
suggesting that a mistake had been made. I included the email I had sent
him which I also sent with my payment. He requested my address again which
I immediately sent and he replied they'd have to re-send. This continued
for awhile and eventually I left bad feedback on him. He immediately responded
to this, saying he had no idea that I hadn't received my beanies and asking
what my problem was. I again sent him all the email and told him I was going
to report him. He threatened to report me also and really had a fit about
the second bad feedback I left for him. "Why didn't I just let him know what
I was missing?" He responded to my feedback saying I was running a scam on
him. He asked me to change my feedback when I got my beanies. I chose to
rebut his rebuttal by warning others to check him carefully before taking
a chance sending him their money. As I said, I finally got the two beanies
he'd not sent. He followed his pattern in selecting me to be his victim.
I had a low feedback rating at the time. Please DO NOT TAKE A CHANCE GETTING
SCAMMED BY THIS MAN! I do have the proof in the form of email to support

really upsets me is by the time i recieved Kiwi, the original auction was
no longer in eBay's database, so i could not leave negative feedback for

I understand possibly you can help`me. I won an auction on Ebay on Feb.5th and gave my credit card number via fax on the 6th for a Radar beanie babie. It was auction # 247085926. When I faxed the CC number, I also e mailed the seller asking for acknowledgement of his receipt of the fax and to advise when he shipped. I heard nothing. After 3 days I e mailed him again and I received an answer the next day stating they were handling the CC orders that day. Yesterday, I still heard nothing, so I e mailed him again and let him know I was really a bit upset, within the hour he answered me with another E Mail that stated they were handling the cc orders right at the moment. That really got to me so I E mailed him again stating that was the same story he gave me over a week ago and I was really disturbed that If I did not receive notice Radar was shipped and when I would report him to Ebay and go after him on a fraud point. Within 10 minutes I had an E mail stating "He checked and it had been shipped and I should receive it within a week", and there was no need for a threat. About 20 minutes later another E mail came thru stating to go ahead and report him to EBay, he didn't care as he isn't dealing with them anymore. He didn't bother to say they had suspended him. This mans name is Luke Konrath and his E mail address is Barnum79@worldnet.att.net. Thank you very much for any assistance you can give me or at least point me in the right direction.
HELP!!!!!!!!! Hi again Trudy, This is Wendy again from Canada. I thought
this crook was finally off of eBay for a while ... but not so. His userID
of "Konrath" with its 27 negatives was finally deregistered. So is the userID
he defrauded me with, "jordan101". I thought that might slow him down a bit.
I have just been contacted by someone having trouble with a seller on eBay,
asking me how I finally got my merchandise from him. I believe she contacted
me because I am credible on eBay - lots of awesomely positive feedback, and
nothing said about me that was not great. So if I posted that he is a crook
- people have listened. Anyhow, I did not know the seller, so I looked it
up. It is KONRATH!!!!! He has changed his userID from jordan101 a few times.
Now he is "collectibles-king" and his email address is collectibles1@visto.com
.Is there ANYTHING you can do to stop this man??? please don't forget to
add link this new name to Konrath with your bad traders list. Some people
will not know, with the new payment forms you don't have to send a money
order to a name anymore. He is going to be harder to track in the future.
Thanks again

in Oconomowoc & other areas around Oconomowoc, Wisconsin. Just wanted
to give you a few more e-mail addresses that he's been known to use.
collectibles1@visto.com & collectibles1@hotmail.com He is still currently
selling (successfully I might add) on Ebay under the e-mail address of
walleye@nconnect.com I've notified Ebay but I am positive that they will
do absolutely nothing about it.

This is in regards to an eBay auction held by eBay "POWER SELLER"
walleye@nconnect.net (one LUKE or MARK Konrath) I was the winner of auction
# 413586398 for a Garcia Beanie Baby. I sent payment on 9/1 and have yet
to receive anything from this person. I just checked the Bad trader's list
and guess what? I was right! He is one and the same...old eBay user ID KONRATH!
Go to the URL below to read all about him. He was suspended from eBay once
for stealing people's money, and he is at it again! He is going by a different
1st name now, but he has used the following e-mail addresses:
walleye@nconnect.net <-----(he is using this as his ID on eBay now!)
konrath@nconnect.net
barnum79@worldnet.att.net
konrathlb23@uwwvax.uww.edu
collectibles1@visto.com
I WANT MY MONEY BACK! I am a single Mom w/ 3 kids, and I either need the
money, or my Garcia. Right now, I am preferring my money! eBay POWER SELLER?

Is it still possible to get help recovering a loss due to a very dishonest
Ebay trader? I am one of many victims of Konrath aka Luke Konrath. I have
emailed him many times, and if I did get a response, he always had a different
excuse. I am out $88 worth of Beanies, since January 31. He was suspended
from Ebay, after cheating so many poor innocent folks like me. Please let
me know if there is any hope of recovery. Thanks in advance. Sincerely,
Helene Drothler

as per Peggy Galleger. I got no refund, I got no emails but 2 saying the
problem would be taken care of. NOT Now I have no beanies no money. This
guy/girl is a crook. He takes your money and runs. turn him in to the Hartford
police dept. I did.

Toybox20 shipping address was KONRATH 77 Highland Ave. Hartford, WI. 53027.
The shipping address for collectibles-queen is Toybox20 P.O. Box 270064,
Hartford, WI. 53027. This is without a doubt the same preson/persons. I have
emails with the names Christy and Konrath.

sent 10/25/00 and many before that. His/her emails have come back from the

I won 4 beanies on amazon on sept 1 and sept 4. 2 checks were sent to
this person and I recived 2 beanies not 4. I have emailed them several times
and they wont even answer my emails. So they got my money and never sent
me my other 2 beanies. I have received several emails from people who also
lost money with these people. So beware, as they will take your money and
run, just like they took mine. Now they are selling on ebay, and they will
take someone elses money and run. People like this make it bad for the honest
buyer and seller. I worked hard for my money and I dont appreciate toybox
taking it from me, No matter what they respond to on the complaint , just
read all the other complaints they have, same thing, took their money and
run, Thieves.Toybox you are being watched all over the net,. What goes around
, comes around,. You will get ripped off one day, just like you did to all
of us.

traders_name: Oldies toys, Toy box, Comments: I won an ebay auction on April 10th for a Britannia buddy from oldies_but_goodies_toys@hotmail.com . The buddy he sent me was fake, and not the one pictured in the auction. He had good feedback but was a new user. I have emailed him about the problem and he won't get back to me. I checked your site to see if ther was anything on him and there is. I found complaints under Toybox20@hotmail.com and the adress he sent me is the same as in the complaints:
Toy Box
Hartford, WI 53027
So they have a new name, and a slightly new game (fakes), but they are
still around. I thought I'd give you the new ebay name so people can check
before they bid. When I bid there was nothing on that email, or ebay username.

traders_name: oldies_but_goodies_toys Comments: I won an ebay auction
from this person. They stated that they beanie was mint with a mint tush
tag and no hang tag. The beanie I received was covered in a pink stain of
some sort. It was on the beanie and the tush tag. Also included in the bag
was a hang tag for the beanie with the hole (for the hanger) riped completly
out of it. I emailed many times with no response. Finally I emailed stating
that I would be leaving negative feedback, they replied saying that I should
not complain that I got a better beanie than I was suppose to! Since when
is a stain covered beanie better than a mint one?? Will not refund money.
With out a doubt do not deal with this person!!!!

Luke Konrath is at it again. Bought a Garcia from him on ebay. Was told
to send payment to
"TOY"
P.O. Box 270064,
Hartford WI, 53027
Thought it was weird no name, but sent payment in good faith. Luke scammed
me out of 97 Holiday Teddy Beanie a year and a half ago. He has changed his
user name on ebay to oldies_but_goodies_toys@hotmail.com. I have notified
ebay and this time I want something done. This man is a con artist and ruins
ebay for those you buy and sell honestly. Last time I was scammed out of
$30.00, this time it's for $67.50. Please help me to get my money back and
get rid of Luke Konrath from ever trading again. Thanks.

won an ebay auction from this person 28th may 2001,i paid via paypal $23 on 31st may 2001,goods being ty flash beanie baby,my first email clearly stated it was for my childs birthday on the 8th june so vender knew this item was for an eager child collector,it is now 8th aug 2002 and the beanie baby still has not arrived no doubt due to the fact it was never sent.therefore you must draw your own opinions as to what sort of persons takes from a child, please also note that of the 9 emails sent only 2 received replies both of which would easierly fit onto a postage stamp, the rest were ignored,i have noted that this man has used a number of names and emaill address'es to carry on conning folk.eg;-
