The trade I made with her was her Libearty which she said was authentic for my Britannia buddy and Britannia beanie. I will also send you a copy of the emails we sent each other throughout the trade.. Mary is also on icq under 2 nicknames mnmsathome and mnms, her homepage on icq is most interesting, she trades beanies for a living. She is also on ebay under user id hiholittletoe. I can also give you the email addresses of 2 others who I have been in touch with , both of them have traded with Mary for fake Libeartys, so my case is not a one off unfortunately. What is so worrying is that I know that she is still trading these fake bears.  I have her email address too..

I have filed for mail fraud and sent off the form to the attorney general. Her local police station has also been notified and they say they have has several complaints about her. I am notifying the persons whom she has cheated at this very moment and asking them to email yourself..

I made with Mary Monsour, Pittsburg, Kansas. She has asked me to pass on a record of my dealing/trade with her.

I originally posted to BBW's Board on November 15/99. My posting indicated that I was looking to trade my MW3MT Maple Buddy & Maple Beanie for best offer... Later that same day I received a reply from Mary Monsour offering a MWMT Libearty for my Maple Buddy & Maple Beanie and "Spangle Buddy".

I did reply back to her on Nov. 15 saying that I did not have "Spangle Buddy". She said sorry & offered the trade of her Libearty for my two. (I should have gotten out then!) On November 16, I contacted her and accepted her trade offer. We decided to mail out a few days after, and exchanged mailing addresses. (I had previously lost her address from another trade)

**Please note that this would have been the second time I traded with Mary Monsour. The first time was in August/99 where I traded a Maple Beanie Baby (MW3MT) for 4 Osito Bears (also MWMT) In this particular trade there was not a problem & I did REALLY trust her when she emailed me again about another trade.

On November 17/99 we both mailed out our packages.

On November 23/99 she contacted me regarding "trouble" with the internet service & gave me a new email address.

November 29/99 she acknowledged receipt of my package in perfect order. I received my package from her November 30.

November 30, I left feedback for her at www.ebay.com under mnmsathome saying the Libearty was beautiful & thanked her for the trade.

Then I started investigating to make sure that it was authentic. It took a while to confirm this. I emailed Vicky at OddOnes@aol.com & she was able to confirm it. I found out it was a FAKE and emailed Mary on December 22. Mary basically told me that too much time had passed & she was not responsible for her part of the trade. I did email her back and told her that I would be taking legal action.

Since then I have filed a "Consumer Report" form with the Attorney General's office (in her state) and have contacted her local Police Department via email. (I am now waiting for a reply)
