My friend and very good trader in Germany traded with Mike Ufret in Canton, Georgia. She has not received her trade from him. He says he has not received her trade. I know the trader (Marion) and her family as very honest people. I send Mike an email (he wouldn't answer hers) stating that if he didn't straighten this out with her that I would report him to his post office, his police dept., and to his Attorney General.

I sent him:

1 Germania Buddy
2 Germania Beanie Baby

He should sent:

1 Libearty Buddy
1 Libearty Beanie Baby
2 USA Beanie Babies

The items were sent from Germany at the 8th July via air mail. The parcel was marked as a toys/gift and the value under 20$.  Here is the number of the parcel:

He said that he sent his parcel on the 9th of July.

The only thing he replies on a question from me is that Canton is outside of Atlanta,Georgia.

At the 19th July he asked me if I received the package, because he didt received mine. Two weeks later he wrote me that he responed to my old e mail address, but I sent everybody I traded with an e mail with the new one! At this time he "told" me that he´ll check the post office at the 7th August, but till now I heard nothing from him. I took a trace on the parcel today. That´s all I know about him and our trade. Marion, were you able to put a trace on the package. I have put one on the package that was sent to you. I wasn't able to make it to the post office until today because I had to go out of town last week. I am hoping that they will be able to tell me something fairly soon, however they were not able to tell me how long these things take. I also received an e-mail from the Traderlist about this and told them the same thing. I explained the situation to them from my point of view. I do not appreciate that you have already made a decision about this before everything is known. I have a package out there somewhere that for all I know at this point you have already received but I haven't gotten anything in return from you. You also have claimed to send me a package that hasn't arrived and I am very concerned about that but I haven't gotten anyone else involved yet. I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. I could have very easily reported your failure to send the items that you promised to send but I was going to wait and see what the Post Office had to say about the packages before I jumped to any conclusions. I will keep you informed as to what is happening at this end. You can either do that or if you wish you can inform the Traderlist about what you found out as I will be keeping them abreast of the situation also.   Mike

I have A problem with Mike Ufret. I see were you are trying to help Darline Gore and Marian. I also sent Mike a Brit. Buddy,PVC Princess and Bessie the cow for A Libearty Beanie baby. He said it was Authentic. So I sent it to Peggy G. to have it checked out. Peggy sent me A e-mail saying it was A counterfit. Mike told me if there was anything wrong with it he would trade back. I have e-mailed him about 12 times and no response.

Hi! I am in a strange situation, and am not quite sure what to do....I am pretty sure that I have had a trade with a fraud, but...well, heres what happened. I traded with a man named Mike Ufret (mufret@juno.com)...I traded him my tye dyed digger buddy for no shell tank (this was back when td digger had a pretty hefty value...50.00 or so). Anyways, it came to be a month, and I had not received my side of the trade...the thing is, when I emailed mike complaining, he complained to me that he had not received my package either...I am pretty sure this is a lie, though, because packages dont get lost very often, and I find it hard to believe that BOTH of our packages would have been lost at the same time! So, anyways, I asked him to show me the receipt for mailing the package, and he said he didnt have one. Also, I asked for him to trace the package, which he supposedly did, but that never got anywhere...I have been waiting for literally months for the package he sent to be traced, and eventually, he just stopped contacting me. I dont know what to do...I dont think I'll ever get my beanie back. I doubt that there is anything you can do...but if you have suggestions, plmk!

Mike trades in fake beanies. I traded him for A Libearty beanie. I sent it to Peggy G. It came back counterfit. I tryed to get ahold of Mike to trade back. But he wont answer any e-mails. Be carefull tradeing with him. He has taken others.

Had a trade with this person in February. He supposedly shipped but I never received. I shipped and funny he claimed he never received my beanies either. He said he put a trace on package and then told me he got it back from post office because it was damaged. He told me he was prepared to send it again until he found out I had requested help from Gramma Pat. It is now over 4 months and this has not been resolved. I have an impeccable trading record on many sites but if you check traderlist you will find that this man has a bad trading history mostly with the same scenerio. I have copies of all e-mails and e-mails from other traders that have been defrauded by this person. I have lost several beanies to this person and hope no else gets taken by this obvious scammer. I am prepared to take further steps. Feel free to e-mail me if you have had a problem with this person. Perhaps together we can stop him duping any other unsuspecting good traders. In Feb I made a trade with Mike Ufret- nothing was ever resolved. Now he readily admits that he did receive one bear from the trade. That bear was sent by my sis as I didn't have it. She has delivery confirmation and we both have e-mails attesting to the fact he did receive this bear. He does not deny this. Between us we have sent 3 e-mails requesting he return this bear delivery confirmation so there is no doubt he sent it back and it has been received. Today, my sis, got an e-mail from Mike saying when she sends money for the postage he will mail it back. I think this clearly ads insult to injury. He has one bear from this bad trade and we have nothing. How can he keep a bear he is not entitled to and then demand money for postage to send it back? We have been ripped off once and he is trying to do it again. Can you please help us get this bear back? I do not feel my sis should have to pay double to get our property back. Thanks, Pam James

UPDATE: Trading situation with Mike has been resolved after many months and mediation. Happy to report that my sis got her bear back and I got 1/2 of my trade. Thanks Mike for the effort in resolving this situation.

I have emailed mike over and over, asking to give me Delivery confirmation on the beanies that he sent but no response, I know he got the beanies I sent him I track it with the delivery Confirmation When I sent it. He got the packages on 12-4-2002 at 4:28 PM. I just found out his on the badtradelist.

This bad deal cost me $350!! ! I had quite a few 3rd gen beanies that I purchased from a seller from the MWMT trading floor pit on Meta. His name is Michael Ufret, his email is mufret@juno.com.  He then informed me that they weren't what he called mint, some creases but that Meta didn't have the disclosure for older beanies as they did for newer beanies with regard to their tags not being perfect. I have the email where he states he went to check with them to verify he wasn't doing something wrong and told me that this is what they had said. He then said I could cancel those that were creased and got me a list of more he was going to list. Of course I put bids on them way under and he acepted, promising me that these were MWMT, I've got emails (tons) where he describes them down to a tee! He knew I wanted a certain Chops 3rd gen for myself and put it on Meta, someone else bid on it and he pulled it right off! He then emailed me and told me if I wanted it basically I had to come up to the price of the current bidder or he would sell to them on Meta since I didn't want to go that high. After convincing me over and over that it would be worth it and the beanie was worth so much more, I fell for it and others the same way. I paid via Paypal, this man was so gregarious he emailed me 1-2 x's a day, even when I was trying to decide if I wanted the other beanies! He even emailed me and told me he had voluntarily taken the beanies off of Meta that I showed an interest in so I wouldn't lose them to higher bidders since people were placing bids on them! Well, I got the beanies and emailed him immediately because I was absolutely shocked at what I saw!! He never could have kept these beanies on Meta and sold them in the trading pits that he had them in!! Trudy, the tag on Chops is torn halfway up on the edge, others were covered in gummy residue, it was a sight that made me sit and cry for an hour that I got took so badly! I emailed him immediately with the problems, he told me that he never looked inside their tag protectors and would have to email me back later that evening to let me know what he would do now! Needless to say despite multiple emails and suggestions by me to resolve this fairly for both of us, he has never acknowledged me again! I emailed Meta and took pictures of the writing inside these MWMT beanies hang tags, the torn ones, the ones with sticky residue all over them and stains inside the tags! Basically they emailed this man with a "seller inquiry" asking him why he sold me these beanies under the trading pit of mint beanies when they weren't and to please explain this. He never responded to them either, so they let it go. I also let them know of his very sly practice of using Meta as a venue to place the beanie on at an extraordinary high price, get bids on it, then pull it off and use that to falsely inflate the price to me! Well knowing that he couldn't put the beanie back on Meta and sell it the way it was for such a premium price to others! They did nothing. I became irate that they basically allow members to rob other members and they gave me another copy of their clause that says we are not responsible once we hook you up with a seller! And since he pays his bill he is considered in good standing! Last email I did receive from them, they did tell me that they suspended him until he returns the "seller inquiry" for them but I still watch his sales and he is still got his beanies up for sale all over the Meta for other unsuspecting people! I'm so frustrated over this, especially since I'm such an honest person, just check my feedback, it speaks for itself! I did check him out on eBay and he too has about 42 feedback's, all positive and a 4.9 on Meta, but that doesn't mean that when someone sees a chance to dump some bad beanies they got stuck with, that they won't try! I've investigated on the internet and found that he is a CPA in Georgia with a current license AND I just happened upon your sight and found him on the bad trader list as far back as 2000!!! This is why I am writing to you. Am I out of luck now for any kind of investigation from you or help because it has been over 30 days since I took possession of the beanies? I have saved everything! If there is any way you could help me with this or lead me somewhere in the direction of where I might be able to receive some help for either of these, I would be truly, sincerely, truly (once again), grateful! I'll wait to hear from you before I just give up and get rid of all this mountain of emails.   Thanks for listening,

I see Michael Ufret is already on The Bad Traders List. I'm hoping that you can add the following to his page for others to see:

I matched with Michael Ufret on Meta Exchange for an Orange Digger @ $150.00. Since it was not authenticated, I asked him to go through Peggy Gallagher's escrow service. Luckily, for me, the only money I'm out was $5.00 I paypaled to him to send the beanie to her. She reported back that the beanie is counterfeit. This is to warn all people to be very careful when dealing with Mike. He is now refusing to answer my emails to get the $5.00 shipping returned to me. Peggy is also charging me $10 for her escrow and $8.00 to ship the beanie back to Mike, but I'm disputing this with her now, especially since Mike has his own page on The Bad Traders List. But I'm out this money, but it could have been a lot worse had I sent him the $150.00.  Everyone beware of this unscrupulous seller! He's hiding out on Meta Exchange at this time. I've sent this information about his page to Meta and hopefully they will cancel his account there. Hope this update helps save someone the headache I and others who have traded with him are now in.
