Need Help with a Bad Deal?

First, please read details regarding the following steps below on our Gramma Pat's page on Bad Trader Advice. If there is a procedure listed that you have not followed, please do so.

1. Contacting the person
2. Post a query
3. Visit your Post office to get Mail fraud form
4. Contact Law enforcement officials

Remember that mail seldom gets "lost" although out-of-the country trades frequently take longer. No matter how angry you may be at the other trader, please be polite and stick to the facts. Tell the other trader what you are going to do...nothing more. It is not necessary to be rude or argue. Frequently just mentioning the words "fraud", "prosecution", "felony", or "international authorities" will bring results.

It seems that a lot of the bad trades have to do with counterfeits. Since it is impossible for the receiver to prove that the beanie claimed to be counterfeit is the same one the sender mailed, (unless someone was there to verify the beanie was counterfeit or take pictures of the identifying counterfeit characteristics), or unless the seller has a history of dealing with counterfeits, there is little we can do.

Please email problems you want help with to one of the people listed below.
Once you have communicated with one of the Cautionlist people, please only correspond with that person from that day on. If we get too many complaints,
we may forward yours to another helper, and that person/helper will contact you.

In your first e-mail to us please send us all the information regarding the problem. We need the Bad Trader's name, mailing address, email address, and USER ID if available. This is helpful with Ebay and Beanie Nation or other sites that use a user ID. Also include, date of deal, amounts, and any other information we may need to help you.

The email you send us is the one that we will use to post on the Bad Traders listing if needed, so please make sure it contains the information the public would need to see.

(please use upper and lower case letters when sending us an email)
