My name is Bob Platt and I am writing to you concering my dealings with a man from the UK named Ryan Murray. Not only is he posting multiple bad posts about me on your board which are complete and utter lies, I am beginning to receive harassing emails at home. The ONLY possible person who would know the details about the contends of the emails is Ryan Muarry himself.Currently there are three bad posts about me on your board. If you take the time to look, they all have the same remote address which means they all came from the same computer, Ryan Murray's. I have posted a reply to his posts in an attempt to clear my name. I currently have feedback on ebay, addies attic and BBOT, all very positive. I know that my friend, Lisa(Beaniedaft) has also written to you about his situation.  I would appreciate any and all help that you can offer in helping to stop this horrible trader and complete unethical person.

On May 11th, I entered into a trade with Ryan Murray. He had a UK Trio for trade along with several other so called hard to find beanies. I asked him where he got those beanies and he said he collected them but that he uncle had passed on and he got his collection. We agreed to a trade for his UK Trio. I had feedback on Ebay, he had none. He said that he couldn't access Ebay to view my feedback so he asked if I would send first. Badly wanting to add the UK Trio to my collection, I agreed. He then gave me his sisters mailing address to send my parcel. When I asked him about this, he said the beanies were for his sister.I was never given her email address, simply her mailing address. I sent the parcel out, with over a $100 worth of beanies and buddies. A week later he emailed me to say that he received my package and that he would be sending out my package the next day. This was the week of May 19th. Two weeks went by and I didn't receive anything so I began asking him where my package might be. He repeatedly told me the parcel had been sent and that he didn't know where it was and that it should arrive soon. Another week went by and still no package. I continued to ask him about it and she said he would have to check with his boss. I questioned him on this as well. First he told me he traded for himself, then for himself and his sister and now he said he traded for a store as well. When I continued to ask him about it, he said he could prove it and would scan the post receipt. Upon receiving the email containing the post receipt, it was dated June 3rd. This is two and half weeks after he told me he had sent it. Seeing as I am in the US, I have no way of knowing whether that post receipt was for me or someone else. I told him I wanted my beanies/buddies back and he said he couldn't do that as he had sold them already! The bottomline is, he lied..he lied about sending out my package and he lied about trading for a store. If he wants or wanted to do that, thats his business but the bottomline is as of July 29th, I have yet to receive the UK Trio and I am out over $100 in beanies and buddies. He said his boss told him he traded fair and square and there was nothing he could do. He told me he didn't have another UK Trio anyway. Two weeks ago he posted on a UK trading board and said he has been trading for 9 years and had multiple UK Trios, Asian Pacific bears etc. What he doesn't tell you is that he was banned from the ryebypost trading board for shady trading practices and for trading for a store. There are negative posts about him on Addie's Attic as well. Everyone time someone has a concern with him, he responds that it is the other parties fault as is the case with his post about Torin Currey. In his post he said that all of the packages he has ever sent out have arrived, that is not the truth, again I have yet to receive my parcel from Ryan that was almost two months ago. Even if sent surface post from the UK, it would have been hear long ago. In addition, he has repeatedly posted frictious stories about me. If anyone takes the time to notice, each of the posts about me are from the same remote address..this means the all came from the same computer, Ryan Murray's computer. In addition to his posts on this board, I have receive harassing emails to my home account from people. The ONLY way that these people could know any of the information contained in these emails is from him and only him. Traders beware, he is a crook and a fraud. If he doesn't get his way, he will try to turn the tables on you and make you about to be the bad trader. Ok...This is the truth, because I and a friend have been in contact with Ryan and so far, from what he has said to my friend, and what he has said to me, is totally differant....It happened back in September/October 2002, I posted a post on Rye stating I had a Red America for trade, among others...Ryan then contacts me through Private Messaging saying that he would trade 1 from his list for Red America, and I choose Magic...I tried sorting another trade for his Sparky for my White America, he didn't want it...We exchanged address and hadn't really set an offical date, just said that I would send when possible and he said fine... So one Thursday I posted the America bear and let him know through Private Messaging letting him know I posted it...I never heard back from him in a few days, nearly a week...He finally got back, a little angry about it because he said the trade was offiacily through, and said he was going to post Magic as soon as.... Any way, he let me know he had posted and wasn't very happy at all, and said that America hadn't arrived for over a week, and I said give it time...Another week past and I hadn't got his Magic and he still hadn't got America and INSISTED for his Magic back and I said I would send it back when it arrived, as long as he would send America, and he agreed...But, due to Karen Fox, I was banned from Rye trading posts for some Unknown reason, and still couldn't let him know...He did have my email, but he didn't really use it, but I never heard from him since then, and No Magic never arrived...Back in January 2003, he posted a post about me on the trader list, me the same about him...And I did contact him and he never got back...Till some time last month.. Last month he got in touch with my friend, asking if he kenw me and all this, and loads of other questions...Then, he got in touch with me, saying he had been to the police and all that.... But what I found out is that he has been banned from Rye for trading for a shop..And he has apparantly given his SISTERS address out.... My friend asked him about it and he said 'THAT WAS ONLY FOR ONE TRADER AND THE BEANIES WERE FOR HER ANY WAY', then I asked him because I saw 2 differant traders with the same address and he said 'I GAVE THAT ADDRESS OU BECAUSE THOSE BEANIES WERE FOR HER'... Any way...I asked him for proof because he said he had some, he never showed, I couldn't because I lost it..

I sent him proof with the date of the 3rd of june on it. That was round about the time I sent the beanies off to him. ALSO ON THE RECITE WAS HIS ADDRESS, which was the destination where the beanies were going. I am really sorry, but I am not sending his beanies back, because then I will be out a UK flower trio. I have asked him, what can I do. He has not emailed me in over 2 months so I assumed he had received them by now.  I don't have the original any more. I scanned in the picture, sent it to bob, and no reply, so I threw it away! Is there anything else I can do?   Ryan.

I am completely and utterly dismayed at the fact that Ryan Murray had the nerve to lie to you and say that I had not email him in over two months. This is a complete lie, just one more in a long string of lies that he continues to tell. When I return from my trip I will send you proof that I have sent him emails requesting either a set of UK Trio or my beanies/buddies back. As I had stated in my past emails, he had continued to post negative posts about me on your board. They are always followed by someone else who also had a bad trade with me, however, the funny thing is if you look at the remote address of all these emails, they are the same, all from his computer! He stated to you that he sent out the UK Trio on June 3rd. This was 2.5 weeks AFTER he told me he sent them, yet another lie.

I would like you to know upfront that no matter what information Ryan may provide you, it is my impression that he is a con artist and a liar. In addition to the lies he has told me, he has told you several too. The fact that he claims to have not heard from me in two months, and because of that he assumed I had received the Trio is just an out and out lie. I had continued communication regarding my situation and each and everything I received the same answer, too bad, I sent them and you're not getting anything. I believe the ONLY reason he is now even remotely interested in clearing up this situation is because you got involved. On May 11th Ryan and I entered into a trade agreement for the following: I agreed to send him:

The above beanies/buddies were for his UK Trio. I sent these out on May 12th. After agreeing to the trade he told me to send them to his "sister". When we began our communications regarding a trade, I asked him about his trading. He told me he had been trading for a few years but that his uncle who collected passed away and that was how he got a lot of the more difficult beanies in his collection. Then he changed to say that he and his "sister" traded beanies together and that some of the beanies/buddies were for her and that was why the should be shipped to his sister's address. At the time I had feedback on Ebay only because KnK had just recently shut down. He told me he couldn't access ebay to view my feedback and asked me to send first. I know I probably shouldn't have done this but I did anyway because I really wanted to add the UK Trio to my collection. Needless to say, I learned a lesson the hard way! His supposed sister's address is:

It cost me $39.50 to send out my package to him. Not only am I out the cost of my beanies/buddies but I am out out the shipping costs involved. Within a week of shipping my package to Ryan, he sent me an email to say he had received the package and posted positive feedback on RyeByPost for me. In addition to the positive feedback he posted, he also said he was sending out my UK Trio the next day and I should receive it within a week or two. He said he was shipping it airmail. Two weeks went by and I didn't receive a package so I began to get nervous. I emailed him to ask about this and he said it was definitely on its way and not to worry. Another week went by and I still didn't receive anything. Again I communicated with him about my concerns and he said he would go to the post office and check on it. He told me that he could prove that he sent them and provide a scanned post receipt. He did this, he sent a scanned post receipt. It was the same as the one he provided for you. If you will notice, the date on the post receipt is June 3rd. This is almost 3 weeks AFTER I was told he had definitely sent my package. At this point I became mad. When I questioned him on it, he wrote to say that at least he sent the package. I told him I wanted to beanies/buddies back. He told that he would have to talk to his "boss" about it but that she would be really upset. He emailed me the next day to say that he would not be sending "another" UK Trio, that he had traded fair and square, that he had sent them and he couldn't return my beanies/buddies because most of them had been sold. He todd me he was trading for a local shop. So his story went from he trading for himself, to trading for himself and his sister, to trading for himself, his sister and now for a local shop. In addition, he told me he wouldn't be able to send them anyway because he didn't have another set of UK Trios. At this point, I told him that if either my beanies/buddies werent returned or if I didn't receive a UK Trio, I was going to post negative feedback on Rye and contact your board. I received an email from him telling me to go ahead and post bad feedback, that he deserved it because he had lied and that he wouldn't be trading anymore anyway. I did infact post negative feedback on Rye. I then received an email from the moderator of Rye telling me that they had removed my posts and feedback until they could sort things out. In addition, they asked me to send them my version of the story. I did this and about a week later I was informed that he was banned from the Rye board because of continued complaints about him and because he was trading for a store.

Shortly after he as banned I started to receive random emails to this account from people that I didn't know. Some were nasty and some were just strange. The only way that ANYONE could have known the information that was contained in the emails would be if it was Ryan himself sending them. I couldn't check the remote addresses on these emails though. Shortly after he was banned from Rye, I received an email from a friend in the UK who I had told about this situation, saying he had posted on a UK board. His post said he has multiple UK Trios, Asian Pacific Bears etc. I don't remember the exact name of the board but it was something like lemonsmile? In early July while this was going on, there were several posts on your board about myself, all of which had been made up. Lisa(beaniedaft) was the one who informed me of these postes and was upset about them because she knew they weren't true too. I believe these were posted around July 4th. There were two of them in a row, one after the other and the first one was from Ryan about me and then there was on from a girl named Sarahtwiggles. Both of these posts were from the same remote address, his computer. Lisa tried to contact this person and she couldn't because its said that the address didn't exist. The post by this sarahtwiggles was pretty nasty in content. It was at this point that I sent an email off to you. I didn't hear back from you and after two days I check the status of the email as we are both on AOL. It hadn't been read, a day later when I checked the status again, it said deleted. I told Lisa about this and he just say that you were very busy. Shortly after this, he posted on Addie's Attic that he was new to the board, that he didn't have any feedback although he had been trading for 9 years. He said he has 6 UK Trios to trade, multiple Thank YOu bears, Asian Pacific flower and flag sets, Red AMerica reversed ears etc. Needless to say, I was outraged and mad. I contacted the board moderator about this and asked if I was allowed to post a message in the trader section about him. I did this and then received an email from him slamming me, saying that I had no right to do this and that he had sent them and would not send another set! Two weeks later is when there was another posting on traderlist about me. This time there were 3 negative posts about me, again, one right after the other. Again they all had the same remote address, all from Ryan's computer.  It is at this point, I don't know what I can do other than maybe contact my local post office to file a mail fraud complaint. I was waiting to hopefully get some advice from you in this matter.  I will forward to you all of the emails which I have kept from him for your review. The package did arrive! I have not purposely set out to rip anyone off....I have done a lot of trades and they have all been successful

Firstly I would like to apologise for not being more involved with helping out with bob's beanies. I have been very busy starting my own web site, and also trying to get another trader arrested with mail fraud.  I have not set out to rip any off, or ever will. I sent bob's beanies off to him on the 3rd of June. I have not tried to rip any off, because I have also been in bobs position and trying to resolve a trade witch has been missing for over a year now.  I sent bob's beanies off on the 3rd of june as I said, he asked me to scan in the proof, which I did and sent the copy to him. I threw away the original recite because I thought I would not need it. During this time I had 5 trades going over to america and it was easy to get one mixed up with the other (sending dates). but however I sent all the trades when I did them. I have no beanies which I owe anyone apart from a different trader but the trade is not finished yet so I will send out soon. I have sent bob's beanies to him about 2 months ago, and they should have arrived to him by now. I am not sure why they haven't, or if they have, why he is claiming they have not arrived, but I would like to get this situation sorted out ASAP!  Please let me know if there is any thing I can do to help your investigation out, because I would like to resolve this in a simple manner. I will not replace bob's beanies, because I have already sent him a UK flower trio, and have no more left. I will be getting 6 more sets, but they have already been reserved for traders who have already sent there half. I will be able to sent there UK flower trios out by the end of next week, and if they have do not receive them, then I told them to contact you. Please get in contact with me asap. I really don't need help with anything I was just wondering if there's any updates on Ryan Murray of UK? I know of 2 bad trades he has had and in a few days I MAY be listing him also. He has no positive feedback at this time anywhere. Karen

I still don't have mine but since he was sending first I didn't lose any beanies just time and trades. He does have a web site and told me I had won 6th place on it and was sending me a Pompey that I never got. Below find emails where he told me that he had mailed. Obviously he did not. Karen

I have received an email from a new beanie trader. She states that a trade was made with Ryan in December 03. She has been emailing Ryan for over a month now with no reply. I have just sent Ryan Murray an email and I received an instant reply. That reply was "I AM OUT OF TOWN AND WILL NOT BE BACK UNTIL JUNE 14".

This was an auto response from aol. For those individuals who have traded with Ryan During the months of December 03 and January 04 you might want to send Ryan an email and see if you get the same response. Please keep the trader list informed of any recent bad trades.

Entered into a big trade i sent him 11 beanies(including an MCIII)2 buddies in 3 boxes postage totaling 39.00 dollars, on jan 9, have no beanies from him he said he sent on the same day and now he will not reponde since jan 9 or 10 said he was moving and then never heard from him again  so it looks like i am out over 100 dollars first time in 5 yrs i have been trading its sad i have lost my faith in trading    Thanks for listing     Tracy Sims Miami Florida

Hello I wanted to report a new name for a bad trader he still trades and he uses a new name. and email I got lucky before trading with him i check the bad traderlist bec I had a bad feeling with that trader, his references show he is Jay but he tells me he is J. and his email shows his name is Jamie. I looked at the location where this trader was located and the address matches. I have told him that I will not trade with him til he sends his end of trade then I will trade my end.

The name shown on bad trader list is Ryan Murray.

He is using the name of J. or Jay or Jaimie or Jamie Goldsmith

TRUST your first instincts.! ! ! I should have--AGAIN ! ! It was early December 2003 and dumb me just wanted to get rid of some ty gear and get a few PN smittens in return. I had the strangest feeling something was up with this guy. I actually thought he was a child. I emailed and told him after a few weeks that the package was not here and he replied with his that I sent him had not arrived either. I JUST KNEW that was what was gonna happen. I chalked it up to another loss in the UK :O( Only trading with UK people I know from now on.

Sent MWMT beanies X3 for his 1 and did not receive his trade. Email bounces back that he is out until June 2004.

I traded with this guy and I never recieved my end of the trade... I sent him 2 brown Decades and 2 teenie boppers for a Comet and a PVG... it cost me 27.00 to send them and I haven't got my end of the deal NOW I emailed him to see where mine are and I got an auto reponse email back that he will be gone until June 14th.... a lady asked on a trading board if anyone had traded with him and she said that she got 25 responses of people who have been ripped off by him.... I think he has ripped enough people off he should be prosecuted...

I set up a trade with Jamie Goldsmith on 2/6 from SC. He said he sent a Jack MWMT and I mailed Phil-e2003,Phil-e2004, Smooch-e & Heartthrob. He has not answered email since I told him I had mailed them and I have received nothing. I now understand he is also Ryan Murray and a bad trader. What else can I do to get Jack or my beanies returned? I have just posted an email to him at Addies Attic since he said his computer was down!!!! My first dupe in 4 years of trading and it crushes my spirit. Thanks for whatever help you can be.  I traded with Jamie Goldsmith beanielad@hotmail.com and did check his feedback on SC. It was mixed and some very good ones so I went ahead and gave him the benefit of the doubt because his email were so friendly and sincere sounding! Hope this helps and thanks for your time. Beverly

I entered into a trade with someone named Jamie Goldsmith on Feb. 18, 2004. I sent him a total of 13 items on Feb. 25 in return for 2 Jack and 1 Deutschland beanies. He was supposed to have sent his side on the same date. We were shipping by ground. Shortly thereafter I began to see posts about him at Addie's Attic Trade Board, which is where he saw my post originally, and I began to get suspicious. I began emailing him and receiving no response. I was also told his name was Ryan Murray and began looking for information about him. Once I found Ryan Murray's email address I also sent emails to that address, again receiving no replies. I have asked Jamie/Ryan to simply refuse the package I sent him and have it returned to me. Since I have received no response I don't know what else to do to recover my end of the trade. Can you help me?  Priscilla McLentihan

Traded five beanies for his/her Asia Pacific 2004 set on 2/25/04. Never received my beanies. On 3/7/04 he promised to return my sent beanies. He now refuses to answer my emails. I am now out of approximately $56.00.

This is not much a complaint against this person, but a thank you. I mailed my beanies out to him months ago, and recieved what i mailed back today. I read on addies around a month ago he was mailing beanies back, and it looks like jamie is keeping his word. i have heard back from 4 different people (my self included) who have their beanies back. Tracy Sims, Opal Konschuh and Joyce williams as well as my self have recieved their beanies back from ryan, I think he is sticking to what he is saying, mailing beanies back to everyone.Looks like he is doing so. Hopefully everyone will get what they sent

I only got 1 buddy back so far out of 11 beanies and 2 buddies I sent him. so we are not actually even yet and he has not fulfilled his part of the deal. It has been 5 months since I sent my part of the deal and he was to have sent his.  Tracy
