Subject: thebeanieboyz@aol.com

traders_name: Seth Lutz (The BeanieBoyz) Comments: On November 23, 2000, Seth Lutz (thebeanieboyz@aol.com) The Beanie Boys, Paramus, NJ., offered for sale at auction on eBay.com., a quantity of (8) eight TY Buckingham Beanie Baby Bears (auction #504892231). Winning a quantity of two of these Bears for the price of $79.99 per Bear, I contacted the Seller by email to confirm my purchase. The following day, November 24, 2000, I contracted payment ($166.08, including $6.10 for shipping) which cleared immediately for this transaction through Paypal.com, and payment was transmitted into "thebeanieboyz/Seller's" account at Paypal under the name of James Marttine. Paypal sent them a confirmation of payment and they deducted the funds from their account. Being a "Pre-Sell" auction for these Bears, the Seller promised delivery with (30) thirty days from the end of auction. Thirty days passed with no contact from the Seller. On January 17, 2001, I filed a formal Fraud complaint through eBay's Safe Harbor. The Seller received a notice of the complaint, and was instructed to contact eBay regarding the settlement of this matter, which he did not do.On January 28, 2001, I forwarded one last email to the Seller, but have still, to this date, have received no response.

Just wanted to let you know that I received my credit card statement and noticed a charge for $340 to the Beanie Boyz in Paramus, NJ. I DID NOT make any transactions with them and called them. I FINALLY got thru to a guy named Seth who told me to contact my credit card company and dispute the charges. I notice that they are on your Badtraders list. My credit card company is sending me the necessary paperwork to get this resolved.

As a side note, I did make a charge on my credit card for $340 back in Jan of 2000 to a place called Beanies and More in Bergenfield, NJ. I am wondering if these 2 people are the same and he/she used my credit card to charge me again 2 yrs later?

If you need anymore info, please contact me.

Follow-up submitted by: Cageman712@aol.com

I know the the name of the person who charged me for $340 on my credit card. His name is Seth Lutz of THe Beanie Boyz in the Rockaway Mall in Paramus, NJ. I called him last week to see what was going on and he thinks someone got into his computer and hacked into the system to charge my card and use his business name. It doesnt add up to me and I am sending the necessary paperwork to my credit card company to get this taken care of.

I see where his name appears on the bad traders list and I want to know how I can get him in trouble for doing this? Do I contact the local police? Better Business Bureau? I want to wait til the credit card gets taken care of for fear he will get even uglier about it. He said he would credit my card back for the amount last week but he hasnt done it yet.

I will keep you posted and would appreciate any feedback on what to do?
Thanks,
Greg Haines

On May 8, 2002 we ordered from Wendy's Beanies. The order was to ship immediately. To date they have over $3000.00 of our money and have shipped nothing. We get lie after lie each time we call. They are currently on eBay as aruba2001 using the email address wcoutinho@optonline.net Wendy is using the last name Countinho right now. It appears their ebay account is racking up bad feedback very quickly. They already have a BadTrader page under their previous name theBeanieboyz@aol.com.   Thebeanieboyz is the name that appeared on our charge statement.  $2259.00 of this was on a credit card...we have already started the chargeback process. The balance was a paypal payment from the balance available in our Paypal account. We have filed a Buyer Complaint with Paypal already.  Lori

The seller has also not replied my emails. When I asked when the beanies were sent, she said "will be shipped out this week", dated 26 May, after a no of emails asking when will the beanies be shipped. An international call made to the contact number given in her emails was also directed to her answering machine.

I won ebay auctions with them in March,April and a couple in May. They did send some of the beanies but they owe me alot more. They keep lying and saying they have shipped them. I spent over $2000 on beanies. They owe me 8wales,3 sets of asians,scotland,england,paula bopper and more. I thought they were honest because they did send some of them to me.But now they are not answering my emails and have not shipped me the rest of what they owe me and will not refund my money. I have asked for a refund or for my merchandise to be sent asap and have received nothing. Please beware of them.

I bought a presell from ARUBA2001 on EBAY. Wendy and Robert    wcoutinh@optonline.net  Wendy Coutinho.   I have attempted numerous calls and emails, filed a fraud with Ebay, contacted paypal (out of luck, it was past 30 days so paypal won't do anything) I wrote paypal and said they were basically saying any 30 day presell could get away with this..think about it.   Anyhow, I finally got to the mail fraud form and am sending it off tomorrow, I did ask for refund, etc...  I don't know what else to do...It's like these people dropped off the planet. At this point, the money is a moot point...I just don't want them to do this to others.    At this point, what else do I need to do? Payment was from my checking account through paypal....  Any suggestions or proceed from here?   I am following Granny's sheet.   Thanks     Randy Huebel (rockytop10) ebay

I never thought I would have to use your valuable service, but here I am. . . . another scammed Ebayer.  I won 4 auctions on Ebay, which ended May 23, 2002.   The seller was:
(email)wcoutinh@optonline.net;
(ebay user id) aruba2001.
The auctions were:
1731269952 -  Vanda;
1731269945 - Wattlie;
1731269933 - Bunga; and
1731269919 - Mugungwha.

I attempted to pay with PayPal, immediately following the close of the auctions (May 23), and PayPal refused to send payment to these people. I contacted them, and was told to use Billpoint or money order, or check. I sent a check in the amount of $73.91. The check was endorsed and I received the cancelled check in my bank statement yesterday. I have emailed them numerous times, and never received a reply. I noticed yesterday, that they have been suspended from Ebay. I have sold and bought on Ebay for 3 years and have never had such a problem until now. I am prepared to file any and all appropriate charges with authorities.  All I want is my money returned or the beanies--in the mint condition which they were promised.     Susie Lee     I have posted a complaint on the bad traders list, and  noticed others have as well.   HELP!! Thanks,

On May 18,2002, I won off of Ebay Wattlie. The seller is aruba2001. Item #1731269344. This was a presell so I sent a personal check cause it would not ship for 30 days. Made the check out to
Wendy Coutino
84 Sickle Street
Dover, New Jersey 07801

My check cleared the bank so I sent a couple of emails wanting to know when I might receive my beanie. They will not respond to my emails and today, I made a long distance call to new jersy to talk to someone and all I got was a recorded message. The amount of the sell was $20.94. I don't know what else to do except talk to you.   Thank You   Linda

Just wanted to let you know I too, am a victim of Wendy's Beanie's of New Jersey. (I see other traders have already given you her e-mail addresses and home mailing address and phone number of her store). So I will just tell you I began trading with her at the end of February for a "pre-sell" on the Asian Pacific set of beanies, also the 3 UK set, and the first 2 German exclusives. I sent her 2 checks (which I have receive back thru the bank - I can send you copies if that will help) for a total of $343.00. I know I'll never see the beanies, but if I can help you do anything or talk to anyone to try and recover any of that money, please just let me know what to do to help. Thank you.   mkbehr@att.net (Mary K. Behrens

If all who were cheated complain the authorites can do more then if only 1 person files a complaint.

We won a presell auction on 4/29/02. We paid through paypal. We have e-mailed her six different times to find out where our beanies are and only one response said they were being mailed the week of May 27. She hasn't responded to any other e-mails. She is suspended from ebay and we have lost over $300 because of her. As several have said before, WATCH OUT FOR WENDY COUTINHO.

I won 4 presell auctions from Wendy Coutinho on e-bay from 4/20/2002 to 4/29/2002. She quickly agreed to combine shipping for me so I thought I was getting a good deal. On 5/19 someone from her store called me to let me know they would ship my items within a week. Nothing arrived so I called 2 or 3 times and e-mailed them the week of 5/27. Finally on 5/31 I spoke to someone there who said my package was in a stack to be shipped and it would be sent that week. Then later on 5/31, Wendy returned my e-mail and said that if the items weren't received in 30 days, they would issue a refund. Nothing has been received from them. They haven't returned e-mails or calls, and now they don't even have an answering machine connected on their toll-free number (1-866-744-1647). I've seen other complaints about them, and I think this should be investigated by the N.J. police department. Wendy lists herself as working in Dover, N.J. My auction numbers on e-bay were 1723688257, 1723687444, 1725596006, and 1725602165. E-bay won't help because none of these auctions went over $25, but if combined, they do. I've been on e-bay for 3 years, and this has never happened to me before. Please, someone investigate this person!!

Nothing and now they wont answer emails and are no longer a register user at ebay which means they are probably getting ready to scam someone else with a new id. Seems there are many others who will be scammed too because many items have not been shipped as of yet.

I also won two auctions from Wendy (Aruba2001 on ebay) for a Wales and a Scotland bear which I have not received. Those auctions ended 4/26/02. No refund or recent communication from her. I paid $131.88 by check and check has cleared the bank. I filed a fraud complaint on ebay, will file for the ebay insurance program and will file a report with the National Fraud Information Center. Would appreciate any information from anyone living in NJ who might be able to track down a phone number or address for that states Consumer Affairs office or a local police department. It would help if we all could contact some law enforcement agency there

I would like to enlist your help regarding non-delivery of Beanie Bears from an EBAY auction I had won from Wendy Coutinho on 4-2-02 (aruba2001). EBAY Auction # 1718320902 for 11 Exclusive Country TY Beanie Bears for the price  of $305.00; shipping and handling charge of $12.95; and the postal insurance charge of $1.10 for a total amount of $320.95. I have emailed Wendy several times and have called her 1-800 # as well as her home phone without much success in trying to resolve this issue. She did email me twice letting me know that she had shipped the Beanie Bears and that I should have received them (5-20-02) and then a second time stating that I should receive the product or a refund within 30 days ( 6-2-02). I still have not received the Beanie Bears or a refund from Wendy. I sent her payment thru my Paypal account on 4-7-02. I have notified Paypal of my problem but since it was past their company's 30 day deadline they were not able to help me other than note my complaint info. I did contact EBAY and filed a complaint thru Square Trade as well as file an online complaint. Then on 6-1-02 I filed an online Fraud Report that was within the company's 30-60 day timeline. On 7-1-02 I submitted and mailed to EBAY a Fraud Protection Claim that was within the company's 90 day timeline plus sent copies of all my emails with Wendy as well as EBAY. Today, 7-6-02, I filed a Mail Fraud Complaint Form with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. I will be contacting my local police department in Vancouver, WA as well as contacting Agent Bill Tsigaras of the Morris County Prosecutor's Office in Morristown, New Jersey. Hopefully, I have done and will do all that I need to report the fraudulent actions of Wendy Coutinho. I did post this info on your website message board today. Is there anything else I need to do? Thank you in advance for your assistance in this matter.  Lorita Snell

Five weeks later, I tried to contact her because I had not received my 2 beanies. I sent more than 20 emails an got no responses. I then mailed a letter to her, still no response. I tried calling her and once talked to her sister, Ingrid, who said she would pass on the message to Wendy and have her call me back. New Jersey Daily Record Article concerning Seth and Wendy Lutz.

http://www.dailyrecord.com/news/articles/news9-beanie.htm

Date: Dec. 19, 2007
Name: Donna Williams
Email: kidzpaz@hotmail.com
Sender IP: 71.233.182.98

Traders name: Seth Lutz

Email: selz1961@yahoo.com
ID: 765comfort

I ordered 6 Dragonfly Prince helicopters from Seth Lutz on ebay in mid-November. Weeks later, with no response, I filed a dispute with Paypal. He became VERY upset and put a package in the mail and asked me to close the dispute. Unfortunately, in good faith I did. I received my package but it was NOT what I ordered. He told me to send them back and he would send me the correct items. That was on November 27, and I still have no helicopters. I had to threaten action for him to respond to my emails, but there is still no resolution. Because I closed the dispute Paypal will do nothing. I filed an appeal. I just looked up this man, and found that a Seth and Wendy Lutz (this same man has a wife named Wendy.....hmm) were prosecuted in 2003 for the same fraud. At that time they lived in New Jersey I believe. HEADS UP....they now live in Seminole,Florida and are operating under a new business name.
