Complaint filed by: JLJ7012@aol.com

On December 14, 1999 I sent two beanies to Stephanie Lockhart, 212 Village Walk, Columbia, SC 29209 as part of a trade for two other beanies. It was our agreement to send the beanies Priority Mail w/confirmation no. She received the beanies we send (Lucky and Pinchers) on December 16, 1999. We (my daughter and myself) have not, as of this date, received our beanies. She claims she sent them by regular mail and has no way of proving she sent them. I have contacted her several times by e-mail at Neil6428@aol.com and occassionally she returns my e-mail. She said that it would take up to three weeks to receive my beanies. I feel this is quite unusual, especially since I have received several packages since the beginning of December, 1999 from several places in the US and England in less time (even by regular mail). I have filed a complaint with SmartCollecting (where the transaction took place), but I did want to let you know and ask for your help in either getting my daughter's beanies back or getting reimbursed the $50.00 I insured the beanies for so that my daughter can be compensated. The beanies we sent out were: Lucky and Pinchers -- Priority Mail w/ confirmation no. 0304-7990-0005-4729-9741 on December 14, 1999, insured for $50.00. Ms. Lockhart was to send out Peace and Osito the same day and way. As of this date, we have not received the beanies and she claims that she forgot to send out Priority Mail w/confirmation no.If you need copies of the confirmation no. and proof of insurance, PLMK. I also have copies of some of the e-mails that have been sent to Ms. Lockhart by me and copies of some of the e-mail from Ms. Lockhart to me.As you know, you cannot leave negative feedback on SmartCollecting, therefore, I did file a complaint with them. PLMK the status of this.Thank you. Ann & Jennifer Jones

Response from: Neil6428@aol.com

All I can say is that I sent the beanie babies and I sent out 4 other packages that day that made it to their destination. I have been harrassed time after time from this lady. How do I know she isn't lying about not receiving them. I have been scammed many a times before and that is the name of the game. She has taken this a little far. That is what feedback is for so I she feels good about posting bad references then that is what she should do. I sent my beanies so that is all I can say.

She refused to make good on this deal. I think that anyone who had been scammed themselves in the past would certainly make sure that they had proof of mailing by sending confirmed mail or insured. A good trader makes good if they do not send in this way and the person does not receive if they have no proof of mailing.
