I went onto a site on Ebay to a seller who has over 70 positive feedbacks and was the winning bidder on two Libeartys. the exact amount of money that I sent him was $354.00.This was on January 20, 2000. 3 1/2 weeks later I have not received the bears and I have requested he send my money back. Neither has been done. He did respond to one of my e-mails and promised they would be here this week and no later than Friday and still nothing. Now I cannot get him to respond to any e-mails. I have phoned his house several times and the 1st person said he didn't live there and the 2nd was a child that admitted he did live there but apparently he is never home or not taking the phone calls. I have contacted Ebay, but they just tell me to file postal fraud, etc. If you could just contact him regarding the bad traders list or something along this line, maybe that is all it will take. His name is Bao Nguyen TyBeanies1@aol.com. I have had two other e-mails from people that have dealt with this person and one gentleman is still trying to get his money back (over $500.00) and the other said he is selling counterfeits? He keeps saying, just look at my feedback. I checked out some of the names on there and the e-mail addresses came back as undeliverable. I was told by the other person that he heard a bunch of people got together and left each other alot of positive feedback to get started. We'll see!

A long story so I will make it as short as possible. I have bought products throught ebay, but in this case I e-mailed Bao independantly, because I was after a number of beanies, approx 10. In all my emails to Bao I asked if product was 100% Ty, he never answered with YES just look at my ebay ratings!. I sent him a 444USD money order, his ebay ratings were all good. My mistake! Last weekend 2 people put neg feedback on Bao's ebay account. I emailed them asking if they had brought products that were fake. They mailed back say just take a look at the number of 'hard to find' beanies he was selling, they did not know for certainbut they thought FAKE, one guy was sending1 away to be checked? Also gave me web sites that show how easy it is to get high ratings on ebay and list of people who are selling fakes.I was of course very worried, so emailed Bao, it took a couple of days to get a reply, makes me worry more!. Then Bao says his beanies are good just look at all of his happy customers, he runs a shop as well. What do I want to do buy the beanies or not. I wanted to find out from my bank if I could cancel my check but  it was Sunday!. Sent Bao note saying just  say your beanies are 100% TY, knowing I did not want them. Monday - cant cancel M/O so I tell Bao to send check back. I get no reply. I use all my different emails just in case he might block orig email, and leave feedback on ebay say 'Bao we must talk'. Final on Wed this week get this email from a very upset Bao -

"Jason, i'm pretty feed up with you now. this is what i'm going to do, i'm going to mail you back your check and have you buy beanies from someone else. i don't want to sell you my beanies because all you give me is questions that i keep answering over and over again. i gave you the best prices that i ever gave anyone before in my life. the prices were really low. i figure that you were buying a lot, so i helped you out, but all you give me is headace. i can't believe you put some stupid shit on my feedback too. what a guy you are. everybody is happy with their beanies and then you put that for me. thanks alot. i told you that all my beanies are real ty beanies and i have a store in the U.S. i have nothing to worry about. now you made me do this. i e-mail everyday and i don't have time to send five or six e-mail everday. i have other things to do too you know. i don't stay on my computer all day like you do i see. anyways, you'll be seeing your check in the mail very soon and have a nice life."

I send email back to Bao saying I will thankyou, and it must be back by this Wednesday 16th. He might be selling the real thing? I will never know. But if I do not get my check by wednesday I will be back in contact with Bao. And leaving so VERY bad feedback on ebay. In a way I feel very silly in thinking I could get Beanies such as Sting - Radar - Coral for such cheap prices.

Response from: TyBeanies1@aol.com

as for daniel, i did send the beanies already and i don't know why they didn't get thier beanies yet, and i'm talking thier WORD that they haven't got it. i will send them their refund in the mail. as for jason, he didn't win any auction on e-bay, so i can't sell him any beanies because i will get in trouble for not going through e-bay. his check was never cashed, and it's on it's way back to the u.k. where he lives already. anything else i can help you with? thank you
as you can read all my feedback that people have left for me. thay all say that they are happy with their beanies and fast shippment. i always ship out the beanies on the same day i get their payment if it's a money order or cashier check. i hold personal checks until it clears because just in case it bounces just to cover my end. thank you

I really need your help. I did a trade My Authentic Brit Buddie and a 1st gen Germania for Libearty with Tom10000g@aol.com. He has over 300 feedback at ebay, so I figured it was worth the risk. I even asked him in the email if it was authentic, and told him I would send it to Peggy Gallagher for authentication. HE SENT ME A FAKE...I have Peggy Gallaghers letter saying it was a fake. I contacted him and he said to send it back and he would send my beanies back. I may be dumb, but I aint' that dumb to send first. What person in their right mind would send back a fake and really expect to get real back. He also said that I had sent him a 3rd gen germania...The one I sent had the English on the back of the hang tag and was 1st. I have photo's of the two I sent. I also kept the box that he sent Libearty to me in. One of the ladies who is on another onelist with me volunteered to receive the Libearty if he would bring her my beanies. They live in the same town. He refused to do that. Said he didn't have time to deliver my beanies to her.Just mail his back. I have talked to several other people who had left him neutral feedback at ebay and he has gotten his fakes back from them but as of yesterday had not sent their money back His name is
Tom Nguyen
3320 E Chapman Age #302,
Orange Ca 92869.
That is also the return address on the pkg that he sent me. The cops tell me that is not an apartment complex but probably a mail drop. His phone number at ebay is not working, but another lady gave me his correct phone number 714-875-0564. I have called there twice and he was busy and the person who took the message said he would call me back and he hasn't.It would not cost him any money to call me as my phone number is toll free.  I talked to Detective Phyliss Gomez with the Orange Ca Police Dept 714-744-7380. I talked to Mr. Edward in the Santa Anta Da's office and he said that he wouold send me a form to fill out but I have not received it yet. I have since talked to one other person that just received 2 fake Libearty's from him, who had also sold him some beanies in the past and he had a different name for that email address and a different mailing address. They were
Anthony Nguyer,
757 Blackoak,
Stockton,  Ca95207 and

Anthony Nguyen
35353 New Castle Crt
Newark, Ca 94560.

The man during the month of January sold on Ebay
30 Coral
27 Britannias
23 Bubbles
30 Maple
30 Grunt
25 Sting
29 Seamore
26 Radar
12 Libearty.

These are the hardest beanies to find that are real but he seems to have an overabundance of them. He has sold nothing else, except these HTF beanies. I noticed while checking his feedback that he also had been selling them previous to the first of the year. Is there anyway to do a search to find what he has sold for the 3 months previous . some times he lists location as Orange and sometimes Fullerton. Are they close together? or the same town? I also noticed that several people who were unhappy left neutral feedback, not negative. Are people afraid to leave negatives for fear of retailiation? Is it against ebay policy for me to contact these unhappy buyers to see if they ever had their problem resolved(7 in the last 3 months) I don't know what else to do, or who else to contact. I'm sorry for the long read but I thought you needed to know all the avenues I have approached.

Update from: daniel@mint.net

I just got an e-mail from Ebay and they said he has been under investigation and they have now suspended him from all auctions. Wouldn't you think beanies of such value, he would insure or at least pay the 35 cents to track them? He obviously never sent them. Thank you again for your help and I'll let you know. I think if I don't receive payment by mid week.  I should pick up one of the postal fraud forms.

Thanks to you, I received my refund today from Bao in the amount of $354.00. To be honest, I was shocked. I guess all your input really worked. Thank you so much for all of your help. I'll keep my fingers crossed for Jason and the others that they will also get reimbursed. Hopefully I won't need you in the future, because I shouldn't ever buy or bid on beanies again. It's people like Bao that have taken all the fun out of it. Take care,  Janet LeClair

I got my Britannia Buddy and my 1st gen Germania. To the best of my knowledge these are the ones I sent him but since I had not marked them before I sent them I can only hope that I got mine back and not someone elses. I have returned fake libearty, along with the letter from Peggy Gallagher stating the things that she had found wrong with the beanie. I have sent package, insured, return receipt requested, and with delivery confirmation number 0300 6000 0001 2194 7702. I am delighted to have sent it as I promised. I wish to thank all of those who assisted me in bringing this bad deal to a close, without your help, this gentleman and I would still be fighting over who would send first. I will not be filing charges as my beanies have been returned. Kasi

On Jan 25 I was the high bidder on eBay for a Maple Bear. The seller was Lieu Nguyen 12745 Adelle St, Garden Grove,CA 92841. I sent a money order for $55.01 on Jan 26th to that address. I heard nothing from Lieu so e-mailed asking if the money order was received. Got response on Feb 3rd stating money order was received and Maple would be sent the following day. I wrote frequently asking about Maple since it never arrived. Would get responses such as "sent Maple to wrong address" (got that one twice), asking for my address again. Each time Lieu stated the Maple would be sent that day. Last correspondence from Lieu was Feb 21 when again he said the Maple would be sent on Tuesday the 22nd. Still no Maple. I have written negative feedback to eBay, filed fraud charges with eBay, am in process of filing fraud charges through Post Office and have notified the Garden Grove Police Department (Investigator Halligan is handling the case). I have had many messages from other people that have dealt with Lieu and are in the same position I am. Some have not received a product where others received a counterfeit product. At this point I just want my money back and have stated as much to Lieu. He however is not answering my e-mail. His e-mail address and User Name with eBay is gs400ismine@aol.com. Is there anything else I can do or is there some way you can help? Thank You, Rosean Porter

Just wanted to let you know that I received my money back from Lieu Nguyen today. I want to thank you and the Garden Grove Fraud Division of the Police Department for all your efforts. I am sorry to say I will think twice before I bid on anything again. One bad experience can really ruin it. Thank you again! I contacted
Investigator Halligan of the Garden Grove Police Dept.
His number is (714) 741-5828.
He gave me Tru Nguyen's phone number (714) 926-6077
and told me to feel free to use his name when I called Tru. I never had to call Tru because I got a message from Lieu who is the sister of Tru that same day stating my Money Order was on its way so I decided to give her one more day. Got my money the next day via Express mail. Officer Halligan told me when I talked to him that he had just talked to them and I would be getting my money otherwise these people were heading to jail. Rosean

He also swears my beanies are  authentic. Do you know if anyone else has been working with him or not?  PLMK I'm unsure if I should take my chances and be out cash and beanies too.  PLMK ASAP  Thanks:)

I believe I have found another of the Nguyen's aliases. I won an auction on eBay on the 5th of March. I emailed the seller requesting contact information so I could get my payment in the mail ASAP. The auction was for a Grunt Beanie, 100% authentic~Guaranteed! When I got a reply from the seller, the name in the from field said "Sonny Nguyen". I remember seeing that name on the BTL before, so I went looking under California and found it. There was no Sonny, but there sure were a lot of Nguyens. Also, the address she provided for payment was on the BTL, but the box number was different. So I wrote her back, and asked her about it. She says it's a common name for Vietnamese people, and that it was just pure cooincidence that they lived near each other. When I wrote back to her again, I requested that she send the beanie to Peggy Gallagher for authentication at my expense before sending it to me. She flat refused me, saying that she didn't trust her beanie to anyone unless they were local. So that's about it. I did send her one other message requesting that we use an escrow service, but she has not bothered to answer me as of yet. The contact information that eBay has on her, and the contact information that she gave me are completely different. This is what she gave me:

Mona Saychien
3320 E. Chapman Ave. #257
Orange, Ca. 92869
The email they are using for this one is tienvotay@yahoo.com

The Sonny Nguyen was on the from field, but no where else. That's also the name she gave eBay. Her user ID on eBay is tienvotay. Thanks for your time, I hope you can add her to the page on the Nguyen name.    Judi Goodall

I was told I could contact you with a matter of counterfeit beanies. I won 2 auctions on Collectingnation from Christopher Dole. Auction #1489635 was for Bubbles for $45.00 and Auction #1489648 was for Radar for $48.00. When I received the beanies I just had a strange feeling about them so I sent them to be authenticated by Peggy Gallagher and she said they were indeed counterfeits. (I wasted $47.00 more) I have tried to contact him at 2 email addresses and have failed to get a response. If you could help me with seeing to it that he does not do this again to anyone else, I would appreciate it. The email addresses I have tried to reach him at are:

Would appreciate  any help or suggestions to make our situations right with this  person. I have been so lucky and this is the first time I've gotten burned. Let me know I also emailed another person who he burned. I say we band together and do whatever it takes to get this wrong made right. I've e-mailed him 4-5 times with no avail. I have bid on Dole's stuff . The first 2 auctions I won, he gave me 718 S. Toland, Santa Ana. On a later auction, he gave me the Garden City address. but I think Chris is American, his emails are not broken english or stupid sounding like those coming from the Vietnamese folks named Nguyen. I believe they all buy from Nelson Chen at the Wed. and Sat. Frank & sons show. I have asked a customer of mine who lives in CA to go there and see what is going on, but she didn't make it on Wed. She is an hour away, but says she'll go soon. I told her to try to get names and numbers of the sellers there with cases of "mwmt" ally's.

I personally sent 3 inches of paperwork to John Hong in the Legal dept at Ty about 2 weeks ago. I also sent 2 of Dole's fake ally's. In the paperwork were user queries from Ebay with registration information, also lists of auctions. When I had phone numbers I wrote those in. I was working hard to get Lynda Benner shut down for selling fake tags, and she is off Ebay, but may be back on by now under a fake name. I believe ty kicked her off!

Ty actually can do something - they can send the FBI to these peoples homes and confiscate the goods there. However, they are trying to locate the manufacturers and the distributors, not just the sellers. I am trying to get them to go after Nelson Chen, but I don't have a sample of his beanies. they are lawyers, they need proof, they can't just go to someone's home and take stuff. If they had stores it would be far easier. I am going to call them again and ask them to go to the Frank & Sons show and arrest those crooks, but they are soooooo busy, they get more mail than we can imagine and they are snowed under with counterfeit problems. Prosecuting is a very slow process!  thanks for your help, Peggy Mohr

SELLS COUNTERFEIT BEANIES - dutran@access1.net

Buyer Beware of seller dutran@access1.net and his new name dnguyen176@cs.com. This trader sells counterfeit beanies. He has been suspended from BeanieNation and is under investigation on Ebay. I received counterfeits, and after many e-mails and the mention of US Postal Mail Fraud, I received a refund. Many others have contacted me after having their beanies authenticated and been found to be counterfeit, asking how to deal with this seller. I did not know about this site and wonder how many others buyers don't know about this site. We need to get the word out.  June

The correspondence with each other came with a name of Ian Wong and Ho M Chu. Those are the names that popped up every time I recieved an e-mail from them. please let me know if you know anything about them. I thing but I am not sure that they have different aliases. Like for example there is a user name of logan27 on msn auction and yahoo, that sound very familiar to the description of their items up for auction. Tom Nguyen/Vivan Vu

I had dealing with a Tom Nguyen using tom10000g@aol.com email and ebay user name.I got a fake grunt from him, but unfortunately I thought this beanie was real at first...(some of these fakes are soo good it is hard to tell) Anyway I got scammed by someone else reguarding a fake Goldie which I will also post on him as well, so someone gave me this board to post the Goldie ebay guy when Tom nguyen's name popped up....ALOT!So I emailed Vikcy Kurpa(I hope I spelled that correctly) she can be found on www.beaniemom and she authenticates beanies, so I asked her a few questions reguarding my grunt...it turns out it is fake for sure.So I emailed all the names that are posted on this list reguarding Tom, I figured one of these if they are all him might catch his attention....nope. Not even the original tom10000g@aol.com responded. Also i should note that I gave this guy a positive feedback, because I was fooled. That is how they get there high feedbacks.(from unknowing victims)....and he gave me feedback as well, but usd a new ebay user name...nothingbutbeans. I checked this name out on ebay, it belongs to a Vivan Vu!!So I got nothingbutbeans email and it is beanie52833901@aol.com...and then I looked up the address..well it had a phone number that actually worked. I called and a man answered the phone. I asked for Vivan, she wasn't there, I ask for Tom, he knew no Tom...well I gave him an ear ful and told him I wanted my money back, he claimed to know nothing about it.So I called again about an hour ago, this time answer machine picked up...."hello this is Tom Nguyen, I am not home right noe..." BINGO! Same guy I spoke to the other night. So Tom will be hearing fro me more than he'd like I bet right now.His correct phone is (714)875-0564....he will give you runaround I am sure, but this whole scam ring they have going out there in the valley needs to be put to an end. Also I plan on conntacting an Investigator Halligan of Garden Grove police dept, many have stated he was a big help.To all thos I have emailed on this board and responded, a big thanks..hopefully this will come to an end soon. feel free to email me  Heidi

From an e-bay auction ending Feb 29, 2000. Won a Maple from this person, sent $60.00 and now he ignores my e-mails. How I wish I would have known about this site!!!He and his "Gang" are all over this site! I have notified e-bay, Yahoo, and AOL about this activity. Now I'm going to call the police in Fullerton Ca. Here's the latest on these crooks:
user name: beansmeupty@aol.com

Any one with info on how to get back my money or on how to fight these scum bags let me know. Lets stop them.  Shari Curtis

For everyone who has been taken by this person, this is for you! I DID get a refund! I am glad I did and will help others get one too. I posted a notice on here earlier and went through part of the process on e-bay insurance, but I was able to get a refund thanks to the many people who sent me e-mails on current e-mail address's and current California addresses. Don't give up! I sent the Fullerton police department to the address I sent my money to and a few days later I got my refund. This was a business that my money went, not a home! Interesting! I hope that together we can put a stop to this scam. I have come to the conclusion that to be careful a person needs to be aware of a pattern that they use.
1. NOT REGISTERED USERS ON E-bay!
2. FREQUENT CHANGING OF ID!
3. FROM CALIFORNIA!
4. BIDDERS ON THE AUCTIONS HAVE THE SAME ABOVE PATTERN!
5. FEEDBACK-SAME PATTERN AS ABOVE!
6. SHOVING AUTHENTICY DOWN YOUR THROAT!

I think we can be extra careful in using one more tip also, Check to see how long the person has had their ID with e-bay, the LONGER they have had it, I think the safer the transaction will be. Anyone taken from Tom with a Fullerton address can call detective John Minn @ 714-738-6800. Beansmeupty@aol.com responded to me under the e-mail address: tom10000g@aol.com,  Sent the police to the address you sent your money to, keep trying to get your money back, it may come.  Good luck to all!   Shari Curtis

I purchased a Britannia Beanie Baby from a Bao Nguyen. I took it to a Secondary Market Store to have it carefully looked at. They said it looked like every other Indonesian Britannia they have seen. What are the chances this is a counterfeit? I paid $50 for it as a gift for an April birthday, so I have very little time to replace it, if need be. Please respond ASAP! Thank you!  P.S. In the mean time, should I contact the seller and make them aware I am looking into this?  Tammy Ross

I am not in this scam with Tom, I had a authentic Libearty that I was selling to Kay and then my husband had one of his temper tantrums and ruined many of the beanies including Libearty, Kay had already paid for it and I knew how bad she wanted it by Christmas, I found Tom and he seemed so nice, he sent it to her over night express, I wired him $200.00 for the beanie he sent Kay, Trudy, please look at my refs in eBay, I never changed my name, I have no negative feedback not even any neautrals and I have 162 refs. I don't know what to do now, I swear I am not in this with him, *sigh* I want to know the phone number of the police out there by him!! I will not let this scum bucket ruin my perfect refs that I busted my butt to get and keep!!

Ok, everyone who has gotten fake beanies or had any trouble with Tom...tom10000g@aol.com please e-mail Detective Trace Gallagher, he has now been informed of Tom's wrong doings and said he would look into it, the more e-mails he get's the faster he may move his butt so please all, e-mail him at TGallagher@anaheim.net (Trace Gallagher)

He is located in Anaheim CA, the same vicinity as Tom even though Tom is in Orange CA Let's all cross our finger's and say a prayer *HUGS* Colleen

I purchased a beanie - libearty- from MY DUNG TRAN who is also known by other names, and it is counterfeit. I had it authenticated by Peggy Gallagher. I had written this person before having it authenticated and he swore he had no idea - that who sold it to him must have been the one...whatever I don't believe him, I have asked ebay to ban him and the won't. I told ebay that unless he was banned I would consider including them in my fraud suit. I don't want my money back - I want this person to be STOPPED! I also have a Tabasco on order from him - I am dying to see if it is counterfeit or he has to go with the real thing,,, What else can I or should I do? I am planning on talking to the post office tomorrow. thank you  janalise

This person just changed their user id on eBay to daylight80 from mydungt@aol.com The address I mailed to i:
MY DUNG TRAN
4914 W. FLIGHT AVE.
SANTA ANA, CA 92704

Interestingly, after I wrote about 5 letters to ebay and the final one of the day yesterday indicating that my lawyer had said they could be held accountable as an accessory if they had been told this person was selling fakes and doing nothing about it - only then did I get a letter saying they are investigating and will take proper action... I bought a Libearty at the same time that I purchased Lefty (before I learned how important it is to NOT trust sellers and to ask questions before purchasing). I sent it off to Peggy Gallagher last week and the report came back on Friday that the darned Libearty is also a fake. Of course, this seller is in California, so I shouldn't be surprised (I refuse to bid on anything in CA now). He has not responded to my email since I forwarded him the report on Friday. Would you mind emailing him? At least w/ this one, I should be able to get most of my money back from ebay through their Lloyds of London policy. It is just the principle of the matter (plus that $25 I would lose w/ the insurance). Here is his info:
Sean Woody,
P.O. Box 2392
Garden Grove, CA 92842.
His user id is beanniesrus@aol.com.
I purchased Libearty "Ty beanie" in auction 282220780 on March 15th. Thank you if you can help!! :o(  Megan

Update: email address not given

i PURCHASED bRITANNIA from Duy. A few weeks later I got an email from someone wanting reference on him. I told them that my transaction went thru fine. Then about a week later another email saying he sells fakes. I emailed him ,he replied that it was his compatition trying to ruin his name. I haven't thought any more about it until today I was looking to check out someone else and find Nguyen with alot of different names. Thats a weird last name. He is going under beaniestore1 on ebay. I don't have alot of information on him but he is emailing me because he thinks I'm a friend and I will get his address again. This needs to be posted as an update on his file. This is the second britannia that I have purchased. The first was a fake. The one that I got from Duy (i thought) was real. I will send it to Peggy Galiger and find out if it is real or not. Please update Nguyen file with this info.

Duy Nguyen Beaniestore1 on ebay TNGUYEN@VIPMAIL>COM I feel it in my heart that this is the same guy. HE IS ALSO SELLING UNDER NAME NICESTUF4U,DUY NGUYEN AND DARREN NGUYEN

I thought I made a good buy then I ran across this name while I was checking out someone else I too purchased a beanie (britannia)from Duy Nguyen in December of 1999. I compared this britannia with the one's on the counterfeit page. There is an error in my U.S.A. it says U.S.A no period after the A. Also, there is red dye inside the hang tag. What do you do? Update from: witchy@knology.net

This message is in reference to seller "tienvotay" on eBay. Her email address is tienvotay@yahoo.com. I had written to you regarding this seller several times. I won an auction for an "authentic" Grunt beanie baby, but when the final price was so low, I requested the beanie be authenticated at my expense before being sent to me. She refused, indicating that she didn't trust her beanies with anyone that was not local. I then requested we use an escrow service, but she refused that as well. About this time, her email address showed up on the Nguyen page of the BTL because her name is Sonny Nguyen, but she tells buyers that her name is Mona Saychien. The address she has buyers send payment to is the same address as Bao/Tom Nguyen. After she found out that I had written to you and requested her name and info be added to the BTL, she recanted and said that she would use an escrow service, however before she would continue with the transaction, I had to have her name removed from the BTL. I sent you a message asking your advice and how it worked, and then replied to her that her name would not be removed until after the deal was concluded. I gave her your email address to verify that I had asked the question. My last contact with her was on the 21st of March, and her email indicated that she was going to write to you, and she would get in contact with me. I wrote her a message on the 31st of March, asking after the status of our transaction. No reply. I wrote her another message today, informing her that since I had received no contact with her in two weeks, and the auction had ended well over a month ago, that I considered any business between us concluded, null and void. I also told her that I would do nothing to have her name removed from the BTL. I informed her that she was still on the BTL, and there she would stay. I also informed her that I would write to you with an update of the situation. I feel that this woman was trying to sell me a counterfeit beanie baby. Although no money actually changed hands, she refused to have it authenticated at my expense, and initially refused to use an escrow service. She then recanted and said she would consider an escrow service, but has ceased all contact with me since that time. She lives in California, her last name is Nguyen, and she uses a 3320 E. Chapman Ave. #257 Orange, Ca. 92869 address. All of this combined is just too much to pass off as cooincidence. I'm requesting that you leave her name on the BTL and never remove it. As of this writing, her status on eBay is that of Non Registered User. I don't know the details of it, but I do know that eBay has booted her. She has an account on Yahoo auctions, under the name tienvotay, but no listings as of yet. Thank you for your time, I do appreciate it. If I've left out any information that you need, please let me know.  Judi Goodall

Beware jbot1187@aol.com

On 1-29-00 I sent payment to "Jason Smith" for a Ty Radar. I received it in a timely manor and about a week or so later found it to be fake from reading a counterfeit alert. I emailed him right away and let him know and he sincerely appologized and offered a refund. I sent it back after feeling sorry for this person who seemed to be scamed 1st.I had received replies to each of my emails when questioning the whereabouts of my refund. He had plenty of positive feedbacks on ebay.I gave him every benefit of doubt when he replied that he needed my mailing info and then the amount etc...I have the confirmation slip from the post office that he received the item back and I have saved all his email replies stating he would send me a refund. After being stuck on stupid for almost 2 months I went in his positive feedback and looked up another radar auction and emailed the buyer. After I told her to look at the poem to see if it too said "FILES" instead of "FLIES" and other defects with the fakes, she too had indeed a fake. I then wrote ebay for them to investigate and they said they would look into it, since he no longer was a member of AOL, but they said to go to the post office fraud web site and gave me other suggestions. Thats fine, however this seller who had 120+ positive feed backs which included the usual fakes on the internet must of scammed more than me and the 1 other buyer I contacted.I am debating on the next step to take and how much effort I should put in to this. It's way beyond the little bit of money I gave the pathetic fool. It's a matter of what the heck are these people doing to us as a society? Is it so hard to be a respectible human and earn your living? All of these people who feel the need to get over on trusting, honest people must be so insecure with in themselves, it's almost as sad as it is pitiful that they are breathing the same air. If you have any info on Jason Smith? or jbot1187@aol.com in fountain valley p;ease email me at joedame@webtv.net. Thank you and please be safe

Update: re Christopher Dole

used the "KnowX" database search again and searched all known addresses of Christopher Dole in Ca. I used a bunch of the other search  engines too & the "toland St" address comes up, but I think the chapman one is his primary, cuz it was only found on the knowx database. The other searches can be added and edited, i.e. aol white pages. However, when I searched the chapman address the other day, "pauline denning" came up listed on InfoSpace. But the address is owned by Dole. On KnowX RealEstate Records are there too. See below:

DOLE,CHRISTOPHER owns property located at 9251 CHAPMAN AVE in GARDEN GROVE  CA

Name: DOLE,CHRISTOPHER
Address: 9251 CHAPMAN AVE
GARDEN GROVE CA 92841

Name: CHRISTOPHER DOLE
Address: 718 S TOLAND ST
SANTA ANA CA 92704
Telephone: (714)839-5876

The Toland st address can not be searched, so I think its a mail drop.

I won a bid with nicestuf4u@yahoo.com(Darren Nguyen) or (Duy Nguyen) which ever is his real name. I mailed the money order to him for 3 Jumbor Pokemon Cards w/Charizard. I got smart and put a tracking on the evelope for 35 cents and it shows he has that puppy in his hands. Now he emailed me and said he got the money and he would mail out my cards on Monday. Today which is Wednesday he emails me and said that he gave me the wrong address and if the money order comes back to me to re mail it back. Well, does he have the money or doesn't he? I think he has lied so much he can't keep up with his own lies. Him and his family it looks like has the email address of nicestuf4u@yahoo.com Be very careful. You can also contact the Atty. Generals office at 1-916-445-9555 and the Federal Trade com at 1-877-382-4357. The detetives name is Halligan at 1-714-741-5828. Rember, the minute you put postage on something it becomes Federal Property. You can file a complaint with the U.S. Postoffice. The one thing that saved me I think was I can get confirmation from the postoffice on my tracking thru the internet.

I was given details of your site from Jacqueline Greenwood. I note that the person I have a problem with appears quite a lot!! I mailed 9 Britannia Beanies and 1 Britannia Buddy to Tom Nguyen back in January 2000. I received a mail from him on 14th February stating that he had received them and was mailing my 4 Libearty's the same day. I am still waiting. I have tried and tried to get in touch to no avail. E-mails are ignored and I was given a phone number but when my husband got through we were told he had moved. We had 2 addresses - one in Orange and the other in Fullerton. Do you have any further information on this guy - the e-mail address I have is: Everythingstore@aol.com. I would really like to get my Britannia's back - 3 of them belong to someone else. I would really appreciate any assistance you can give in this matter. Many many thanks. Regards,

I have just won 2 auctions on eBay. One for Bubbles and one for Seamore. I have not send payment as yet, and have a bad feeling because this seller has so many of Bubbles, Seamores, Corals, Stings, etc. so decided to check bad traders list. I found that TOM NGUYEN email address is collectors2yk@yahoo.com. My seller's info is the following:

Seller ID BEANIESMANIA
Seller email address: collectorsy2k@yahoo.com.
Seller mailing address: MAX THANH
215 E. ORANGETHORPE AVE. # 174
FULLERTON, CA 92832

I am going to email seller and cancel my winning bids because I think he is part of this scam ring. If you also think this is part of the scam ring, will you email me so I may know if I have done the right thing? I just checked his listings again today and he has added several more listings for '97's His auctions are still ongoing at ebay. Thanks.

EBAY SELLER MAX THANH--LOTS OF ALIASES

BE CAREFUL WITH MAX THANH, TOM NGUYEN, lots of aliases, all in Southern California. Purchased 4 beanies through 3 auctions from this guy. He used e-mail COLLECTORSY2K@YAHOO.COM. Paid him thru Pay Pal within a few hours. After some time, received e-mail saying he was "missing a Manny" and would need longer to find one and would ship my total order. I said as long as he honored the "guaranteed" clause in his auction text, I would give him through the weekend to find one in "museum quality" as he advertised. He e-mailed back to me and said he would just refund the money + $5.00 for inconvenience for Manny and send the other beanies. I requested refund thru Pay Pal to no avail. I was able to work with my credit card company to get my refund. Lucky for me. I DON'T WANT ANYONE ELSE TO GET TAKEN BY THIS GUY! You have options! If you mailed to anyone and they don't deliver, it becomes a federal case (through postal service), contact the FBI. The police in Orange County are aware of him (he apparently runs a business) but still he continues. EBay has been contacted regarding banning him, yet they don't. PLEASE BE CAREFUL! It appears that he uses many different names (Max Thanh, Bao or Tom or Anthony Nguyen, Christopher or Johnny Dole, probably lots that no one has discovered yet). He has many mailing addresses in Fullerton, Anaheim, Orange, Stockton, Newark, Santa Ana, Rosemean, Fountain Valley, CA). The amount of money affected for me was not a lot but others have lost hundreds! PLEASE TRADE CAREFULLY!

A few weeks ago I made a bid on ebay for a maple beanie baby. It wasn't until after I won the bid and sent the money order that I found out about traderlist.com and the bad reputation of the trader, Max Thanh. The beanie arrived quickly. It looks very fake to me. The fur isn't very soft, unlike other beanie babies and it creases when you "back-stoke" the fur. The head is over-stuffed and it isn't very cute at all. I am very sad and frustrated about this purchase. Please let me know what I should do. I sent the money order from Canada because I was there at the time and I am now in the United States. The Seller's ebay ID is Beaniesmania and the address on the box the maple was sent in is:

Since sending you an e-mail message yesterday, I have tried to place a call to your phone number listed with eBay, (714-894-6327) and it is no longer in service.

However, since it appears you've also used the name Bao Nguyen at the same address, but with a different phone number (714-772-4079), I called this number and spoke with someone who answered to the name Bao. He (you) claims to know nothing about this eBay transaction.

I will be calling the Anaheim police and U.S. Postal authorities Monday morning to file a complaint and to ask for a full investigation into the Internet activities of all of these person's names (real or aliases).     Verne Ediger

Comments: I won ebay auction #552474284 on February 2, 2001 for an authentic Ty Thank You beanie bear in the amount of $250.53. On 2/3/01, the seller e-mailed me asking for payment of $255.53 (total with shipping.) I mailed out a $255.53 money order to him on 2/7/2001. When I didn't receive my bear, I contacted him. He told me my bear was shipped on 2/13/01, and I should receive it any day. To date, I have not received it, and the seller stopped answering my e-mails.I checked his ebay rating, and he had enough positive feedback where I felt comfortable bidding on his auction. AFTER I sent my money order, the NEGATIVE feedback started to appear on ebay. I was not even given the opportunity to leave him negative feedback since ebay must have closed his account (which I feel is VERY unfair....ebay should allow ALL bidders to leave feedback regardless of whether or not they decide to close someone's account!) I have filed fraud charges with ebay. I see that MANY people sent money to the same person at the same address. Since reading all recent and archived posts, I believe this guy has been ripping people off for quite some time under different aliases and different addresses.

I have ordered a beanie babie from a woman i believe is the same one from your trader list. Her name is Lai Shan from Rosemead, Ca. She refuses to answer any emails and called my home telling me to send her the money. I sent her a m.o. for $16.00 to a p.o. box #. She never replied or sent my beanie yet. She is operating on ebay under a new email address. Most of her feedback looks fake to me, it is very similar to the emails on the caution notice. I obtained a phone number for her but that is also phony. I tryed to get in contact with the postal inspector for Rosemead but can't get through either. This address she is using is
Lai Shan
P.O.Box 6002,
Rosemead, CA. 91770.

Her email on Ebay is wejiweji@hotmail.com. I have not spoke with ebay, i thought i would try you first. i am not concerned with the money or the beanie, i am concerned that she may be bilking people out of thousands of dollars along with her friends. Their is quite a few people in the same ring. Please look into this matter and find out if in fact these are the same two people which i think they are. Thanks.  Please advise me on what to do next. I have sent numerous emails to her, she will not respond.

I am writing to report that axalon2000, Duy Nguyen on Yahoo sold me a counterfeit Garcia. On the auction advertisement the seller clearly stated that it was authentic. The auction closed on the 31st of Jan 2002 (ID# 60851638). When I received the bear on 7 Feb, I put it up thinking it to be authentic. Thinking it was real I decided to see if the seller sold any other exclusives, but I never received a reply, I am glad I didn't. On 11 Feb I was checking the auctions on Yahoo and seeing the other ty products the seller had to offer, I checked his feed back to see if anything was left for me, and I saw a bad comment another buyer had left. The buyer had received a counterfeit baseball card, this made me grab my Garcia and call my friend who has a book with hang tag and tush tag generations, and they also had to authentic Garcias of their own. We checked it out, and the tush tag was wrong. After inspecting it closer I also noticed a black thread had been sewn under his chin, which wasn't noticeable at first glance.  I paid 56.50 (50 for the bear, 5 for s&h, 1.50 for Paypal fee) total for the bear through Paypal. I have tried to contact the buyer several times, asking for a refund. I haven't heard from them since 21 Feb. I have explained to them every time that I would like my refund first and then I will send the bear back by 2-3 day priority mail with delivery confirmation. Their last reply was send the bear back and then I would receive my refund. I had also bidded on the sellers other ID tbtran2, it was a Buckingham beanie, same address as axalon2000. The seller never contacted me for payment by Paypal, I e-mailed the seller and decided not to buy unless the bear could be authenticated, since Garcia was a counterfeit. I have already filed an IFCC Complaint as well as contacted CA US Postal Inspector Yvon Guerrero by e-mail. I don't know if I will even get my money back. but I don't want this to happen to anyone else by this person. I wish I had only knew of Traderlist's great site before I got scammed on my very first two auctions on Yahoo. Here is the ID's they use or use to use on Yahoo, along with e-mail addresses:

axalon2000, tbtran2, bbrachel2000, dnbauctions, gabetang, axalon@hwsys.com, dnguyen@vipmail.com, auctions4us@hwsys.com, tbtran@vipmail.com, rachel@vip.com, hobby_digit@yahoo.com

update:
As of the 4th of March around 11pm the sellers time, my refund finally came.

Complaint filed by:  beanie.lover@lineone.net

In July last year I bought 2 Sakura Beanie Babies (I won one on Yahoo and the seller offered me another) from a person called Rachel Smith - user ID bbrachel2000 - and I sold them to 2 friends in October 2001. One of my friends has had one "authenticated" as a counterfeit. I have looked at this person's feedback on Yahoo and it seems I'm not the only one she has scammed. Her email address is rachel@vipmail.com but it's an invalid mailbox. The address she gave was:

R & D Collectibles
PO. Box 2209
