Comments: This seller has taken my money and sent me a terrible suit--and I was one of the few that actually get something sent to them. They refuse refunds, they refuse to respond to e-mail, the phone number is no good and they will delay responses in order to run out the time limits on complaints with ebay. Following my negative feedback came 10 more against them. They must be stopped and I strongly advise all buyers to avoid them. I will file every form I can to see to it that they are squelched.

Comments: Lately there are many McDonalds Teenies and Beanie Buddies listed as Beanie Babies on eBay. The descriptions are very unclear. Based on the bids they are getting it's obvious buyers expect a real Beanie. Royal Blue Peanut TEENIE has bids over $300! Righty Teenie at $66. Royal Blue BUDDIES along with Chilly, Peking and colored Teddy buddies are getting bids WAY over value. You need to check information carefully! In package, in original bag, MIB, NIP all mean it's a Teenie even though it's listed in the Beanie category. Many sellers don't know the difference. Some are out to scam.

Same with Buddies. Sellers read the inside of the Peanut Buddy tag which talks about the RBP Beanie being rare and valuable and list their Buddy as such. They check prices for Chilly or Peking Beanie and see dollar signs. They list their buddy as a Beanie.

If you are in the market for a rare and valuable Beanie please be sure you know what to look for and what you are bidding on. Ask sellers questions. Don't assume it's the real Beanie just because they have a high asking price. In real size Beanies there are still many fakes for sale. All the Royal Blue Peanuts sold lately were fakes (except maybe one). Either they say 1993 copyright or have a third generation tush tag. Both are clearly counterfeit. Flutter does not have plastic eyes. Jade Teddy is not olive green. #1 Bear is numbered. Buy authenticated only or research carfully. Sellers who have real stuff authenticate or will use escrow. Fakers are afraid to.

I see sales go through everyday! More amazing those that pay $300 for a fake leave good feedback. Ignorance is bliss only for a while.

Please be careful!

I won an auction (#1779983156) back on Oct. 24, 2002, from bigredcollectibles@ntlworld.com. Paypal was used to make the payment. To date the item has not been received. The seller's name was Brian Cramer from the UK. He claimed he mailed the items on Nov. 16, surface mail with no tracking. Up until Dec. 24, he had been in touch. I have requested a refund but he is no longer replying to my emails. A search on ebay for the seller turned up a suspended account. I have contacted about 15 other winner from this auction and to date none of us have received anything.

Brian Cramer listed a second email address with paypal.. ibuysw@ntlworld.com.

I did a search on ebay for this addy and found an active acct for I_buy_sw and am assuming it is the same person. Last activity was posted around Jan 5. Just thought I'd pass this into on to you in case of future problems.. Thank you for your support,

Sheila Biles

Comments: This is not a complaint as such as I am as just to blame. I don't normally do this type of thing please can I make myself clear on this.

I agreed a trade with these guys from the BBOT. I was to send them some beanies in exchange for there authenticated Rev Red America, I asked for feedback and they provided only ebay. I checked on here and I found a dolphintales on the cautionist and it sent alarm bells ringing, So I did not send his beanies I decided to wait till I received just to be on the safe side. That was 23rd April and I have still not received. Since then they have tried to make new trades with me.

I feel sorry for those that have been scammed by them.

Again I don't normally wait till I received but something worried me on this one. I always get scared when the only feedback is ebay.

Comments: I contacted Ty regarding the fakes that Emma has been selling and this was my reply:

Thank you for contacting Ty.
In order to accurately investigate the alleged counterfeit case you must do the following:

1. It is very important that whoever has first contact with the alleged counterfeit product and packages SAVES THE PACKAGE AND ANY WRAPPING OR STUFFING THAT IS IN THE PACKAGE. Please put EVERYTHING into a large paper bag. This is very important for mail fraud convictions.

2. You need to have the product authenticated. We do not perform authentication services. We recommend that you contact one of the many reputable authenticators, such as Peggy Gallagher (website: http://www.beaniephenomenon.com). There is a fee to have an Authentication done.

3. Please file a police report at your local police department. Please provide the name of the authenticator when filling out the report. They will also need the name, address, telephone number and email of the individual that sold you the product.

4. Please submit a copy of the police report to:

Scott Rogers, Esq.
Ty Inc.
P.O. Box 5377
Oak Brook, IL 60522
E-mail:srogers@tymail.com
Telephone: 1-630-321-4556

You can also report the seller to the auction board if you bought them through eBay, Yahoo, etc.

Regards,

Ty

Why can't we have the info to contact his officals as well as the FBI to press charges against him for internet fraud? It's not like he done this to one person,oh well, he has done this to several and made several thousand dollars and has just walk away laughing, why is it he should be able to get away with this.Give us the info to contact the right people to get justice for this crime.I'm sure he has moved on and just taking another I.D. to steal from other people as he had several I.D.'s already when he pulled this scam.WE WANT JUSTICE,WE DERSERVE JUSTICE.

Man Pleads Guilty in Internet Auction Fraud

A Minnesota man has admitted defrauding about 1000 customers through an Internet sales business.

Twenty-year-old Richard Parris of Minnetrista has pleaded guilty to selling counterfeit Beanie Babies, North Face jackets and other items on the Internet. He also admitted that he didn't deliver some of the merchandise that customers ordered.

Parris pleaded guilty to one count of mail fraud and one count of trafficking in counterfeit goods Friday in a federal court in Minneapolis. He had been indicted on 24 counts last February.

Parris admitted that he operated under eleven different Internet addresses and screen names while soliciting customers through eBay and a Yahoo auction site and by direct solicitation.

Authorities say Parris defrauded customers in the United States, Canada and Great Britain of more than $120,000.

Sobig.B Worm is Spreading at an Alarming Rate

F-Secure is raising the alert to the highest level as Sobig.B infections have been reported from over 80 countries worldwide. Sobig.B (also known as Palyh or Mankx) was first seen on Sunday, 18th of May. Since then it has been spreading at an increasing pace. Largest infections seem to be in UK and USA. The worm spreads via e-mail attachments and Windows network shares. The e-mails sent by the worm pretend to come from "support@microsoft.com" and they contain the message text "All information is in the attached file".

It's important to remember that Microsoft's support department neversends out attachments.

Buyer Beware!!

There is a new scam in town involving oddities. There are a couple of sellers on the auction sites that are switching the buttons on various beanies that have buttons. Some include : Color-Me-Bear, Clubby, MC Anniversary, Decade, Tradee and many others. It is very easily detected to the trained eye. Please protect yourself when buying these so called oddities and use escrow.

Comments: On Saturday night I responded to an ad on BBOT from someone advertising older beanies user id name was sacco. After a few emails we agreed to exchange his Grunt, Radar, Seamore and Bessie for my Red Decade, Red Liberty, Chinook, Tradee and new DadE-2003. We exchanged addresses and agreed to ship on Monday.
Sunday morning I received 2 emails from him. The 1st was wanting to know when we were shipping and the 2nd again wanting to know when I was going to send. I responded and then went to BBOT only to discover the same beanies back out for trade. I emailed and asked if he had multiples to trade. After almost an hour he finally responded to say he only had duplicates of the Radar. After a couple of more emails his "mother" came online and told me he was only a 12 year old boy and didn't know how things worked and for me to go ahead and send my beanies and then he would send mine.
After I said no that if he wanted to do this trade he could send me the beanies 1st and then after I received them only then would I ship any beanies to him.
I then received an email again from his "mother" stating
In answer to yur question *Has anyone traded with the Saccos." Yes, Shea made his first beanie trade over the internet last week. He delivered and they received the beanie we sent. He never received a beanie back. He got ripped off once and he is afraid of being ripped off again. That is why we asked you to send first, but due to these recents events, we think is is best that he not make this trade. We are extremly sorry for the inconvenience.
Shea's parents

After posting underneath all of Shea's "sacco" posts I also posted an alert to check references. I had several responses and learned he had traded the same Grunt with at least 3 people, Bessie with at least 2 and Seamore with at least 2. Please use caution with this person. I don't know if this an adult with a sick mind or is indeed a 12 year old child.

I won the following auctions as presells on ebay: 3128535449 for a red white and blue bear on april 29th, and a presell for red decade # 3129531469 on april 30th. these were to have been combined to save on shipping. Now the seller has them in hand and was selling them as so before filling my presell orders that I promptly paid for. The red decade bear sold as a IN HAND 5 DAYs after I paid my presell for red decade. auction # 3129531455. I have all correspondence to prove from ebay and seller.

Comments: Susan Tavary, Morton, Illinois 61550 is an individual from years back that I had problems with that decided to add her comments and vent her grudges. Claims I requested PayPal refund immediately when in fact she was unresponsive to multiple emails asking how item she was supposed to have sent out. In order to have PayPal refund monies paid one must wait 30 days to file the complaint and have funds reimbursed.

Four indicted for online auction fraud
Friday, May 16, 2003

By Torsten Ove, Post-Gazette Staff Writer
http://www.post-gazette.com/localnews/20030516ebayfraudreg5p5.asp

Four men have been indicted in federal court in Pittsburgh as part of a nationwide crackdown on Internet fraud called "Operation E-Con" that will be announced today in Washington, D.C., by U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft.

Three of the indictments involved local men charged with selling items online that they didn't own and had no intention of delivering. They used eBay and other Internet auction sites.

A fourth man from Germany is also under indictment here because some of his victims live in the federal court's Western District of Pennsylvania.

The indictments name as defendants Rajit Duggal, 26, of Monroeville; Keith B. Condon, 19, of the North Side; Jeffrey Alan Diller, 34, of Tarentum; and Mario Koch, 30, of Ingolstadt, Germany.

The U.S. attorney's staff would not discuss the cases in detail, but the indictments indicate the men repeatedly sold items online that they didn't own and then had payments sent to various addresses.

None of the men was connected with any of the others, but all are being prosecuted as part of Operation E-Con.

According to the indictments, Duggal, sometimes using the name "Michael Booker," sent e-mails to eBay customers and offered to sell items such as cameras and sound systems. Customers paid him through the "Paypal" online payment service and delivered checks to an address he established at Mail Boxes Etc. on Mall Boulevard in Monroeville.

Duggal defrauded customers from across the United States from October 2001 through June 2002, according to the indictment. Ronald James Wiest of Cottage Grove, Minn., for example, paid for a $629 Sony digital camera kit that he never received.

Condon and Koch pulled similar schemes, according to the grand jury.

Diller began his operation in 1999, prosecutors said, when he advertised Beanie Babies and Beanie Baby cards online and had customers send payments to an address on Cambridge Street in Harrison. When customers complained about not receiving their merchandise, police investigated, but Diller fled and disappeared.

In 2000, he resurfaced using a new Internet name and a new address for payments at the same Mail Boxes Etc. used by Duggal. When customers complained again that they weren't getting their items, the charges say, Diller put them off by saying he was sick.

All the team at Rye By Post Ltd."

So I asked about my outstanding order and this is the response I got:

"Rose, Thistle and Daffodil Announcement

We have done everything possible to fulfil as many orders as we possibly could. This is the only instance where we have not fulfilled all pre orders, even in the Britannia days, Buckingham and unity all orders were fulfilled. If you remember, we were the ones that sold unity for 9.95 when everyone else was 49.95$ and upwards, all these orders are quickly forgotten. We as a company have donated more prizes for competitions, charities and other events than anyone I know.
Whilst it was not our intention to let customers down, in this case it has obviously happened. We cannot physically sell something that we do not have. We have never charged anyone's credit card prior to shipping goods and never taken deposits on pre orders. Most companies do charge at the time of order and then use this money or make interest on it whilst the customer is awaiting their order. On a number of occasions we have had customers cancel pre orders when the price has dropped and even sent them back for a refund, we have always accepted this also. Rye By Post has always conducted its business in a professional and courteous manner, with the individual customer needs in mind, however, this instance has been a first and we deeply apologise for any inconvenience we may have caused. Vic

Many thanks,

As for " Rye By Post has always conducted its business in a professional and courteous manner" I beg to differ, I have received shabby treatment at the hands of RyeByPost and their staff have been rude and insulting to me. I wish their successor luck, but hasn't he appeared in this board before?

U.S. Department of Justice
United States Attorney
Western District of Tennessee

PRESS RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
May 14, 2003

NATIONAL TAKEDOWN EVENT

Indictment Returned in Internet Crime "Beanie Babie" Investigation

MEMPHIS-

Terrell L. Harris, United States Attorney for the Western District of Tennessee, in participation with a national takedown event to highlight Internet crimes, announced that a federal grand jury returned a 19-count indictment charging a husband and wife, Angelia K Moore and Timothy A. Moore, with conspiracy, mail fraud, and identity theft in connection with an Internet business that was operating out of their private residence in Memphis, Tennessee.

In detailing the conspiracy and mail fraud charges, the indictment states that the Moore's were buying and selling Beanie Babies and other merchandise on the Internet. The indictment charges that the Moore's would use various alias and fraudulent representations to induce numerous individuals to send money in payment for merchandise only to fail to provide the buyer with the merchandise. In other instances the indictment charges that individuals actually received merchandise only to be disappointed that it was of a different quality and quantity than they had ordered. The indictment further states that the Moore's would induce other individuals to send them merchandise and then fail to make payment. The indictment states that the Moore's, through personal contact, lulled their victims by claiming extreme medical emergency pertaining to themselves or their immediate family, or that some other recent and catastrophic misfortune had occurred preventing them from being able to execute payment or delivery of goods as promised. The indictment further alleges that the Moore's would use the personal information of their customers, from Internet auctions or otherwise, to obtain money and things of value and to open numerous Internet auctions. This personal information included individuals' personal check information, bank account information, and credit card information. The indictment alleges that the Moore's defrauded more than 163 individuals and were unlawfully enriched approximately $100,000.

Angelia K. Moore is named in all nineteen counts. Timothy A. Moore is named in eight counts in the Indictment. The Conspiracy count carries a maximum possible penalty of not more than five years, not more than $250,000.00 or both. Each mail fraud count carries a maximum possible sentence of not more than twenty years, not more than $250,000.00 or both. Each count charging fraud in connection with an unauthorized access device carries a maximum sentence of not more than ten years, not more than $250,000.00 or both.

The investigation was conducted by the United States Postal Inspection Service and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Assistant U. S. Attorney Rao Oliver will represent the government.

Note: Charges brought against a person through an indictment are accusations only. That person is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.

Comments: i was one of the one's scammed during april. i paid $1298.99 for a laptop and never got one. Paypal did get me $500 back but i'm still down $798.99 and don't know what to do. Someone who sold her something gave me the phone number (901)327-4070 but i don't know if this is correct. Unfortunately I live in the UK so there's no chance of me coming over to hunt her down for my money. I filed a fraud complaint with eBay and the IFCC but would be glad to hear of anything else i could do to try and get my money back. She tried to say she had sold nothing and had had a heart attack when she found out i thought it was her but i have every e mail she sent and all the info regarding the sale - i just don't know what to do with it!!

Comments: I am just another victim of Angelia Moore of Memphis Tn., taken for $76.05 for an Ebay auction, seems she likes to pay with closed accounts. I called her and she said she was robbed and they had all her info. so she had to close all her accounts and so she would overnite the money as she always pays her bills and she would include a postcard of Graceland when I told her I would love to see it. I have since learned she has done this sort of thing many, many times and I should have not added to my expense with a phone call to her. Some of us still believe it is against the law to pay for merchandise with a CLOSED ACCOUNT, also losing the item and getting charged bank fees is not fair.

Subject: New Tricks on Ebay
traders_name: New Gimmicks on Ebay

Comments: It seems there's an endless supply of tricks people will pull on ebay; anything for a quick buck. Some of the latest scams involve running an auction for a Ty Beanie baby, such as a Royal Blue Peanut. The title of the auction and the description of the auction both clearly state: Ty Beanie Baby Royal Blue Peanut. However, there are no pictures to go along with the description. If you happen to question the seller before bidding, he/she will either not answer or will respond with some trivial information concerning a birthdate of the beanie, etc. while completely ignoring your question about the size of the beanie. The bidding quickly runs into the hundreds of dollars, sometimes with the help of shill bidding. Then the lucky (unlucky) winner sends the winning bid via Paypal or MO and awaits his/her Royal Blue Peanut Beanie Baby. What he/she gets is either the Royal Blue Peanut Buddy (worth about $6) OR the Royal Blue Peanut Teanie Beanie (worth about 50 cents). When confronted, the seller says that he/she knows nothing about beanies, is not a beanies expert, etc. And besides, he/she considers all these toys to be beanie babies, regardless of the size, therefore he/she did not mislead anyone (read that as NO refund). Bottom line: Buyer pays $200+ and gets a teanie worth 50 cents or a Buddy worth $6. Net loss: substantial.

It's becoming harder and harder to trust anyone on ebay. These scams are all over ebay. Caveat Emptor (Buyer Beware) is certainly approriate here. In fact, on ebay it should be Caveat, Caveat, Caveat, Emptor.

Comments: Sellers ID is youravon7929: I bid on a couple of auctions for beanies only to learn they are not beanies this seller is hawking; rather, they are teenies. She finally admitted to me they were teenies but did not change the headings in her many auctions to correct. So, she still has many misleading auctions on eBay. Claims to have bought at yard sale, and implies doesn't know much about them, but review of buying/bidding shows buying many teenies on eBay; therefore knows they are the McDonald's teenies. Big difference. This seller has up until now half decent feedback. Too bad she has felt the need to go astray for the sake of a few bucks. What is an even worse sin, she is using a shill ID to bid up own auctions. Then retracts when bids high enough to satisfy her. For shame.

Comments: Anybody out there in the market for a $100 teenie beanie? If not, I suggest you be very careful on what you bid on. There's a certain avon lady on ebay right now with a new scam for you. She's selling teenie beanies that she's been buying cheap on ebay and reselling them as beanie babies with no pictures. The last I looked she had a few Royal Blue Peanut McDonald happy meal toys selling for $100 each. She has lots of Stegs, Rex and Brontys going for good prices too. These are all being advertised as beanie babies with no pictures. She has these mixed in with a lot of cosmetics and used clothing. Be very careful what you're bidding on and make sure to ask questions if you're not sure. If the seller won't answer or is evasive, don't bid. There's plenty of other stuff out there. don't throw your money away on junk and don't give it to these scam artists.

Comments: I agreed a trade with this 'person'. The trade was my Britannia beanie for her Signs DVD. We both agreed to post and I received the DVD a couple of weeks later. After weeks this person decided to email me and tell me that Britannia hadnt arrived. I assured her that the beanie had been posted when agreed and asked her to wait a little while longer to see if it had been delayed by customs. She seemed happy enough to do this. Another few weeks later she emailed to say she still hadnt receieved the beanie. By this time i had got rid of my entire collection of beanies as I no longer collect them. The DVD had been watched and then given away. I explained that I didnt have anything else to send as a replacement but this wasnt enough for her. She said she wanted the DVD back which I explained I no longer had. I was then accused of not sending the beanie. I have been trading for a long time now and this is the first time a package has not arrived. I am not a dishonest person like she is making out and I do not con anyone. Please be cautious when agreeing a trade with this person. I have learnt my lesson the hard way as I have now been put on the bad traders list - something which I feel shouldnt have been done. I have no proof that she didnt receive the beanie only her word for it like she has my word that the item was posted.

Comments: Angie Moore is back on eBay ripping people off. Her recent IDs are ONLY4MYT, VIDEOSTORE-OWNER and HILFIGERMOM2. All are suspended. Her recent scams include paying through paypal and later reversing payment, paying with checks from closed accounts and selling but never shipping items. eBay even gave her a confirmed ID with the name Angelia K. Moore from Memphis. How did they allow this to happen?

Don't do business with anyone using any name and the Faxon Ave address. She's buying her usual Hilfiger and Ralph Lauren stuff and selling videos and PS2 games.

STAY AWAY from anyone that looks like it could be her. She WILL rip you off. I hope the case against her has some progress soon!

Comments: Ordered some THISTLES and DAFFODILS before release from this website and they were never sent. Website trades on customer service values but every time I ask when I am likely to receive the beanies they came up with one or more excuses. It is not my fault if they took too many orders and I see now that they are still taking orders at 5 times what they were asking when I ordered mine.. Many others across the world are having the same problems

Comments: I met this seller through Ebay. They talked me into visiting her site where I directly bought $80 worth of products from her. I paid through Paypal. That was Jan. 26, 2003. I was given a number of excuses from snow storms to sick child to sick herself. She should not refund my money and twice promised that my order was going out. I've never received it. Paypal won't refund my money. I tried American Express also and they won't refund either.

Comments: Jeff is my ex-boyfriend and Emma is his ex-girlfriend. When I first met Jeff in 2001, he told me what Emma did on e-bay for a living. She buys fake beanies from someone in Canada and sells them on E-bay. I can definitely confirm it because she got one for Jeff while we were together and he sold it on E-bay (it was definitely a fake). After we broke up in Oct/Nov of 2002, I checked his e-bay account and realized that she had him selling fake beanies under his account, so I notified E-bay and they immediately suspended his account (of course he called me and gave me an earfull). Since Emma has been kicked off of E-bay so many times, and everyone has her contact information, why can't something be done about her defrauding people?

Comments: All traders please be very careful on this person her name is: Elizabeth Shorter BBOT name is: BABY03
her address is: Rapid City, SD 57703
her E-mail address: queen_of_trouble84@hotmail.com

Elizabeth had ad beanie babies for sale at Ty.com BBOT site March 9, 03 I have contacted Elizabeth the same day and agreed to buy 2 beanies from her and we made an exchange of mailing addresses and I had sent a postal money order with certified mail March 10th. seller received my money order 15th and cashed 17th. After she got my money she didn't answer my e-mails for 2 weeks. She suppose to send my beanies on the 17th but she never has sent beanies and didn't responded my e-mails, so I e-mailed her that if you do not respond my e-mail or send my beanies I'll report to the bad traders list and report to authorities in her city, and than she finally respond was said she didn't have the items but she will send back the money April 3rd. when April 3, came and gone and she had not sent back the money, so I had e-mailed her again and she responded with more excuses saying that she didn't have any money to send and I'll have to wait until April 25, So I waited again and I e-mailed!

Elizabeth on April 24, and reminded her about sending money order the next day, when April 25th came, Elizabeth e-mailed me and pretends to be her mother sayong that Elizabeth had died a week ago and said that she needs 2 more weeks of grieving time and she'll send me a money.

Elizabeth Shorter is a professional scam artist she taking your money and never intends to send your items or the your money back. She ads for sell the items she never has in her possession to begin with and way out her trouble saying that she is die. She is a odd strange person. LOOK OUT.

Comments: I posted a want ad on a website for Tienshan Country Bear Stoneware and Melissa O'Brien contacted me by email and said she had 32 pcs of the stoneware to sell "as a lot" for $68. I paid her the $68 by PayPal and received 6 napkin rings from her. She refuses to send my refund or the remaining 26 pcs and ignores any emails from me or the Bad Trader Internet Fraud Investigator. She says she sent them both at the same time, the napkin rings in a small box and a large box with the rest by Fedex and they either lost the large box or delivered it to someone else. Fedex only has a record of picking up the small box and did not pick up any other box from her to be delivered to my address. Has anyone else had any dealings with her? She is from Pensacola, FL and has a website on ioffer.com with items she wants to sell.
